Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe lighting in the room wasn't fantastic. They would benefit from putting a brighter bulb in. Not really an issue just preference.
The place is beautiful, clean and supremely finished. A oasis of calm within the chaos of the bustling medina.

AustraliaNo complaints.
Riad Sabah was a fabulous place to stay. The staff were warm & engaging, It was a completely authentic Riad full of colour and charm befitting a restored 15th century Riad Breakfast was plentiful , the rooms very comfortable , most of which overlooked an inviting pool, and a fast laundry service which we needed. We had an early flight out and they kindly provided a breakfast pack and organised a taxi for us.

United KingdomHonestly I cannot find any area of potential improvement.
Everything is top class at this ryad, which is amazing because the location around looks very poor and neglected, but as soon as you enter you find a top class, clean, wonderful, classy environment, with a fantastic staff. We were immediately offered tea and biscuits by the pool, which is fantastic. The room was amazing, like the breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, and the area was very quiet. The price was excellent value, much more compared to the other ryad we tried in Fes.

GermanyOnly thing that could have been better, was the aircon upstairs in the room, where our kids slept. It was really loud, but you had to have it on during the night because of the high temperature in August. The aircon downstairs near our bed was fine. It was a different model.
Really amazing place to stay in. We stayed there in August, so it was pretty hot. But the patio with the pool was wonderful during the day to sit, relax, play and cool off. The Riad also was perfect to explore the Medina. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. We were really sad, that we only had four days in Fez and in the Riad.

United StatesBreakfast can be better. Maybe some type of eggs or savory thing would be great. Also some confusion about the staff sending someone to help with bags at the blue gate and then no one showing up. Pool had a lot of dead flies.
It was clean and location was great. Easy to get to the souks. Room was beautiful and good size. Abram was friendly and helpful.

PhilippinesI had expected the Riad to be much closer to the Blue Gate than it actually was. But the walk through the busy main street with little shops and street sellers did give us a better sense of the contrast between the relative mayhem of the outside world and the peace and tranquility of the interior of the Riad. It was not easy lugging our suitcases through the cobblestone streets and carrying them up to the 3rd floor. But once we have settled in, we were fairly comfortable in our room. The upside was being able to go out and do some shopping even late at night. If you want to dine in, you'll need to inform the desk one day ahead.
The Riad had a pool, which we were not able to use during our stay. It was nice to have a living room between the bedrooms where we could sit together. Service was friendly and attentive. Our driver called ahead so someone came to meet us at the Blue Gate, otherwise, we would not have found it easily inside the Medina. I misplaced an envelope with documents and thought I had left it in our room after check-out. I wrote the Riad and they immediately responded that they had cleaned the room and didn't find it there. Breakfast was good.

BelgiumWhile the breakfast tended to be repetitive, the discovery that eggs could be requested added variety. Dinner, although correct, seemed slightly expensive compared to options in the Medina. Nevertheless, it was an overall great stay.
A delightful Riad in the heart of the Medina, featuring a paradise-like courtyard where breakfast is particularly enjoyable, and well-organized rooms add to the experience.

United StatesBkft was rather limited in scope and did not adjust readily to input from guest. Like all Moroccan setups, it was a rare staff member (see Meriame above) who was prepared to suggesst other than the precanned tour guides, resturaants, etc. Minor details that hurt overrall elevation was a closest door that did not stay closed when shut, and lack of more than 1 trash can for apartment (only one was in bathroom). Also, needed map for finding hotel, Google Map is not up to task in medinas. Could be sent as part confirmation.
Faacilities were well up to what previous reviewers and photos had indicated, excellent overall. All staff members were helpful in addressing routine guests needs. One in particular, Meriame was quite helpful in printing changes in schedules and tickets required by adjustments to one's basic plan. She also actually listened to one's input and would than make recommendations to accomplish that even if requests were not for fanicest food or normal tourist sights/activities.

Absolutely amazing Riad, located very close to tala kebira and the blue gate, right where you want to be inside Fes medina but close to the gate. Really good value for price paid, good breakfast, quiet and spacious room with powerful A/C. A special mention goes to the staff, in particular to Lahcen, who went above and beyond to make our stay friendlier. He gave us several tips on the area, even booked a local restaurant on the phone on our behalf. Will definitely stay in Riad Sabah whenever we return to Fes.
