How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHighly recommended! it felt like being with family! We stayed two nights at this beautiful Riad in the heart of Fes. Words can hardly express how wonderful our experience was. Besides its perfect central location, the Riad itself was charming, the most beautiful one we stayed at during our 8-day trip through Morocco. On our first night, we had a minor misadventure, but the way we were welcomed made us feel like part of a family. It was a heartfelt gesture that truly moved us. Lastly, I strongly recommend having dinner at their restaurant at least once, the food is absolutely fantastic! I sincerely hope to come back and visit you again soon!

Verified reviewAuthentic feel of living in a luxurious Moroccan house. Very generous breakfast.
The shower was hot but didn’t drain well, could benefit from a shower curtain. The room was beautifully appointed but there was no where to open a suitcase.

Verified reviewThe staff were lovely and the breakfast was great, it was beautifully decorated the communication before was good and they were really helpful. We recommend parking at Ain Zletin.
There are no signs directing you to the property nor signs on the property door so you know you’re at the correct place. Rooms could do with some better lighting.

Verified reviewFantastic riad in the middle of the medina. The place is really wonderful, with a beautiful full height space nicely decorated and furnished. The room has 2 storeys, with the toilet on the upper part. Overall is big and furnished with taste. A special mention to all the staff, and in particular to miss Rajaa, a really lovely and kind lady, always very helpful with all your requests. Plus, if you choose to have dinner there, she will cook amazing fresh food and the portions are huge! I'm not exagerating when I say that her's is probably the best food I had in Morocco. Highly recommended!
The place is a bit hard to find the first time, Google maps gets easily lost inside the smaller alleys of the medina. However, once you memorize the road it will be fine. The shower didn't work very well, so it needs some little adjustment, apart from that everything was perfect.

Verified reviewCommunication prior to arrival was good. We were given clear instructions on where to get a taxi to, how much we should expect to pay and landmarks to look out for. On arrival in the riad we were welcomed with mint tea before being shown to our room. The communal space in the riad is huge and contains an interesting collection of artwork and furniture. Our room was up quite a number of steep stairs. The room was spacious and had plenty of storage space and an area to sit. The furnishings and decor were quite eclectic. The bathroom was large and had a shower with a bathtub. There was plenty of hot water although it did take a while to come through. The views from the rooftop were excellent. The riad was located quite close to a number of different attractions and restaurants.
Our expectations of this property were quite high based on the reviews from previous guests. Despite clear instructions on what to do when we got out of the taxi outside the medina we found getting to the riad quite stressful. It was around a 12 minute walk, not so easy with heavy bags. As we got closer to the riad we rang the property as instructed, and they were going to come and meet us. We were approached by 2 different youths asking us where we were going and telling us to follow them. It was really unnerving. Eventually, an older gentleman appeared and showed us the exchange of WhatsApp messages we had with him. He didn't speak any English so communication was difficult. Initial impressions of the riad were positive - it is quite something inside. However on closer inspection it is quite run down. Our room was dark, dusty and felt damp. (Perhaps not helped by the miserable weather we had during our stay in Fez). The bathroom was a nightmare - up a wooden spiral staircase and there was no door so definitely no privacy!! There were chunks of plaster missing from the bathtub which made it very uninviting. The cleanliness of the bedlinen was questionable - I really wasn't sure that it was fresh. The room wasn't serviced during our 4 night stay and we weren't asked if we needed anything, for example fresh towels. Breakfast was always beautifully presented but was just a bit lacking in taste. The location is deep inside the medina and there were times when getting back in the evening didn't feel that safe. The hassling from youths asking where you were going or telling you that you were walking down a dead end became very irritating. All in all this was not one of our favourite places to stay in Morocco. With some investment it could be absolutely amazing.

Verified reviewThis is an amazing property with wonderful hosts! Absolutely loved the stay. A welcome tea in the beautiful main room. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and comfortable, and very warm at night. Breakfast was a simple delight that got me ready for the day. I really enjoyed the rooftop terrace, it was a nice place to relax and enjoy views of the city
I was a little overwhelmed arriving in the rain, and needed the assistance of a young kid to help me find the door, but once I knew where it was, I never had a problem finding it again.

Verified reviewOne can only give 10 for the hospitality of Isham and his sister in a historic and genuine riad in the middle of the medina. As soon as you arrive you will be offered an excellent Moroccan tea, you will have a fantastic breakfast in a unique atmosphere. We also decided to stay for dinner one evening. Thanks again to Isham who was available to print boarding passes late in the evening. We felt like at home

Verified reviewAccommodation is in old Fez, Medina. 10 min walking distance, beautiful medieval building, large room, nice terrace with a view of the Kairaouine Mosque. Excellent, delicious breakfasts and dinners, a friendly host who invited us to prepare Moroccan food. I recommend a visit.
Old city centers are exotic, especially in Africa.

Verified reviewThe place is historical and very nice (though renovation work is due). The breakfast was pretty good and locally made.
1. Services were NOT as discribed: no room service; in-house staff speaks broken French and no English; hot water did not always work; rooms were not serviced; no hammam; no coffee machines in the room (as we were assured through messages and pictures on Booking); not pet friendly; not ecofriendly. 2. The location is not easily accessed (about 15 minutes walk from the Blue Gate down a hill), so definitely not a good idea for older customers or people with many luggage items / with toddlers. The owner promised us to be picked up by a staff member with a cart to bring the baggage, however they arrived about 10/15 minutes later at the meeting spot, while a random person assured us to be part of the staff, brought us to the riad, then asked for compensation. The owner's justification was that it was our fault, since we did not travelled through his hired taxi-driver. It was not a pleasant experience, as we were worried of being scammed (note that you can easily get lost in the medina, and some of its areas are not considered safe). 3. There are no signs leading to the riad, nor a front of house sign telling people what that door is. The fact that this riad's staff is not trained in languages made us weary, as we were not sure whether that was the right place. 4. The medina is extremely dusty, as is this riad. Not recommended for people suffering from asthma or allergic to dust. 5. The owner, with whom we only had contacts via Whatsapp, spoke English. Through him, we organised a tour to Meknes. Since the Wi-Fi was not working continously, texts got mixed and that caused a misunderstanding. In fact, his hired guide thought the tour was for Fes' Medina, which we did not require. That guide was quite rude and expected us to pay the full fee for the tour. We were then left to our own devices to organise the tour.

Verified reviewThe host Radha was very friendly, kind and accommodating. The Riad was beautiful, offering an excellent chilling spot at the terrace. A true architectural gem!
Google maps shows the place in a completely different area of Fes than where it actually is! We struggled to find it. It is important to follow the instructions of the host sent along with the confirmation of the stay. Due to the intimate setting of the place (it was originally a family home after all..) one can hear the other guests coming in and out of the rooms, also at night. I personally also found it painful to see 2 birds kept in small cages in the living room. The open nature of the building allows free birds to get in and out anyway which was incredibly nice to watch while enjoying breakfast :) I would wish for the hosts to set the captive birds free, as far as I saw those were of native species so they would be fine outside.
