I first had to get used that the rooms have authentic wooden grids above the doors, it let’s all sounds through but it’s very quiet in general and especially at night, we slept very well. Downstairs rooms don’t have a lot of light, you can’t see what the weather is like for example but then again: it’s part of the authenticity of the property and the ceilings are very high. None of this would withold us to come back!

Very positive vibe in a beautiful old riad. The terrace on top gives a superb view over the town. The intelligent Youssef runs the simple place with empathy and care and has loads of humor even though he seems to be timid at first sight… he also helps for anything you ask. There is breakfast and diner avilable, the food is great! If we come back, we would love to stay there again.

The house is traditionally designed to stay cool during hot Moroccan summers, so during our stay — which had a few cool and rainy days — it was a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings. Just something to keep in mind depending on the season!

If you’re looking to experience the Fes medina in all its authenticity, this is a wonderful place to stay. The old riad is full of character, and while it’s not a luxury five-star hotel, it had everything we needed: comfortable bedding, a decent shower and exceptional hospitality. Youssef was incredibly welcoming, attentive and helping us all the way. The rooftop terrace overlooking the medina is amazing. Traditional Moroccan breakfast is nice and generous, and Youssef’s mum cooking is delicious – were honestly the best we had during our time in Morocco. We spent a great week here as a family — both adults and kids loved the experience. It’s a stay we’ll remember for the warmth, the food, and the feeling of being truly immersed in local life.

I really recommend this beautiful Riad in the Medina. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is amazing and I really recommend to take the diner in the evening. Youssef is always willing to help with city recommendations, arranging taxi’s and everything.

Our stay in riad Ranya was perfect. Mr. Yousseff was very kind and always at our disposal. He made the best tea and offered us everything, like breakfast, dinner and an airport taxi. He even made sure we got safely to the riad, as although it is located right next to the R'cif gate, getting to the front door was a bit tricky, especially at night. However the views from the terrace were amazing. The beds and the bathroom were clean and very nice. Our time in riad Ranya was an awesome experience and we highly recommend staying there.

Youssef and his mother are the nicest people in the world: they make you feel at home and help with everything. Beautiful riad, nice and quiet, big and clean rooms, great food, nice terrasse. Youssef is attentive to his guests and made my visit to Fes very special. I will always remember his hospitality. He met me outside and offered to help with my luggage. His English is good and gave clear directions for free parking 10 minutes walk from the Riad which made arriving by car very easy. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean and a nice escape from the noise of the medina. The terrace provides stunning views over the medina and a great place for breakfast. I wish I could have stayed longer! Highly recommend if you are visiting Fes.

it’s pretty close to the main attractions, even if it can be scary in the beginning. Medina is like a big maze, but you just need to get used to it. Love it :)

Youssef and his mum Malika were the perfect hosts. Clean, private, huge rooms and big terrace, very quiet inside. Malika cooked amazing dinner for us one night, traditional tagine and salads all delicious. Breakfast was a treat with incredible orange juice!

My four week stay at beautiful Riad Ranya was perfect in every way, due to the kindness and thoughtfulness of Youssef, the Riad’s manager. Prior to Ramadan he served a wonderful breakfast on the terrace each morning. During Ramadan, he gave me full use of the kitchen and supplied all ingredients to make breakfast on my own. Riad Ranya was extremely clean and access to the onsite washer was much appreciated. The Medina was easily accessible. Taxis were plentiful for greater distances. Thank you, Youssef!

The Fes Medina mainly consists of narrow streets, which are very crowded and dirty. The road leading to Riyadh is a bit hilly, but Youssef Bey helped us carry our belongings both on the way there and on the way back.

Youssef Bey welcomed us at the square and escorted us all the way to Riyad. Despite our last-minute notice, he managed to make several phone calls and find us a guide who would show us around. When we learned that we needed to leave early to join the tour, he prepared a breakfast package for us to take with. He kindly offered to go to the station to change the time of our train tickets instead of us and successfully changed them. We were very pleased with our stay and Youssef Bey's assistance. We thank him sincerely.
