Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI do wish they had their own parking. Make sure you listed to the advice on how to get to the central Medina, it can be confusing.
We actually didn’t want to leave, it felt like home. Younes sat us down right away with mint tea and reviewed the entire map of Fez with advice. He also negotiated parking for us. The room was large and comfortable. The entire staff was friendly. Breakfast by the gorgeous pool was amazing. The location was very convenient, right inside a gate to the Medina.

New ZealandIt was very hot during our stay (40+) so the walk to and from the blue gate for eating and exploring a couple of times a day became challenging. We mostly caught taxis (cheap) from Bab Ziat to save our energy for exploring the inner medina.
Stunningly beautiful and peaceful riad, gorgeous pool and garden. Fabulous staff. Huge room.

United StatesIt is a 20 minute walk into the main part of the souk. I think that if we'd been closer in, it might have simply been too noisey. We found getting away from the souk was fine for us, but it meant if we did want to see the souk, we had to plan to walk meaningful distances up and down hills.
For the American tourist, it's difficult if you do not speak French or Arabic to navigate Morocco generally. Because of the talented team that Proprietess Monique has assembled, we could understand pretty clearly and arrange all sorts of things to do without trouble. The pool area was overused by us! We loved our experience living like royalty in her palatial riad. Our rooms far exceeded our expectations as well. The food for breakfast was great and the quality exceptional. Oh, and the morning coffee! Wow.

United KingdomWe only discovered the rooftop by chance. There are great views of the medina and the landscape, and there are sunbeds and mattresses for sun worshippers. A plus which could be mentioned on the website maybe?
The Riad has a very authentic atmosphere, cool, spacious, carefully designed and decorated in the traditional Riad style. The garden is lovely, with a careful choice of plants and an attractive pool, deep enough to really swim. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous and well-presented. The bar offers wine and beer, very welcome after a day of sightseeing! If arriving in Fes by train, it is helpful to ask the staff to arrange a taxi, as like most riads it is not otherwise easy to find. The riad arranged an excellent guide, Raschid, for a day trip around the medina.

IrelandThere is a carpark down on the main road that you need to walk past, and there were always men there and along that street who felt necessary to comment at us every time we passed. As two girls travelling, this did get a bit wearing. Not the fault of the riad but to be aware of this on the location.
Really stunning riad with superb staff. Breakfast was gorgeous and room great. Absolutely great facilities. Would have been great to have a sun lounger at the pool is the only thing.

United StatesThe room we got was not comfortable at all. The beds were one floor lower than the bathroom, so you had to go up a floor (think middle of the night…) if you needed the toilet… The bathtub was high and you had to maneuver to get over, and then while you are showering water goes everywhere because there is no curtain. You have the option to sit down in a “chair” in the tub, but it is awkward to shower that way. The bathroom has a constant bad smell.
The Riad is absolutely stunning, decoration and ambiance amazing. Staff is great, super friendly and helpful.

AustraliaThis place is magical. We had three wonderful nights in the Norma Suite. The building itself has been beautifully restored and our room was huge and extremely comfortable. The property is on the edge of the medina near a gate and about a 10 min walk from the main part which made it easy to find and also a peaceful retreat after the busyness of the medina. The proprietor Monique was very welcoming and the manager Younis and the rest of the staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble! I highly recommend this riad and would definitely stay here if I was back in Fes.

United StatesAfter staying in a few other riads around Morocco I can say Riad Norma was by far the best. It had a beautiful design and was very comfortable. The best part was the staff though. Younes and his team were amazing. Younes had the warmest smile and was always there when I had any questions. Laundry was pretty expensive though at 250 dirhams.

United KingdomWe were disappointed the roof terrace was closed. Certain niggles such as the bath plug didn’t close properly and a couple of the window shutters were broken. It would have been nice to have had eggs offered at breakfast.
We were looked after very well by the charming staff. Our room was majestic and the bed extremely comfortable.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like
Absolutely everything from the moment we arrived we felt at home and made to feel like part of a family. All of the team were so friendly and helpful and Younes gave us great advice . Breakfasts were So delicious and presented by such a wonderful person whose name we didn’t get but the most warm smile. In the evening after getting back from supper we are always greeted with a flask of hot water and the same when we came back in the afternoon. The room was huge comfortable bed and so cosy and warm when it rained . All in all we couldn’t have picked a better Riad just a shame that it was the wrong time of year to enjoy the pool and garden but another time Thank you to the whole team at Riad Norma it made our trip to Fez so special and we will miss our first night not in that fabulous bed !! Please thank all of the staff for us and apologies for not getting their names Julie and Tony London

United KingdomThe only thing about Riad Norma that is not 10/10 is the distance from restaurants and the main area/blue gate. It's not massively far but is a 10/15 min walk and there is really only one restaurant close by so you need to pace yourself if you're going out all day and in the evening. We took the advice on where to eat and had some lovely meals.
Beautiful Riad, with a gorgeous well maintained courtyard and small garden area with pool. The staff were really lovely and very helpful. Pre arrival communication good and pick up from airport arranged smoothly. The breakfast was excellent and our room well equipped and very comfortable. All in all an excellent week
