Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is a family home so guests should be aware of the fact that the family will always be around, including lively children. This didn’t bother us at all but we think guests should be aware. Some electrical works were faulty or not working and the shower was misfiring but in an old property it’s perfectly acceptable to trade modern efficiency for ancient beauty. By the same token, wifi was weak.
Beautiful ancient Riad building, so grand that you find yourself standing staring at its splendour. Jaime (staff member) was extremely helpful as were the family. Comfortable room and comfortable bed.

ChinaIt is not very quite. And the nearest car park is 100 meters away and I need to go up a muddy slope with two heavy luggages to find the Riad.
Traditional Riad. The decoration is beautiful, looking like a museum. The householder is very helpful. Breakfast is good. The owner is working on a SPA on the rooftop. It gonna be great after completion.

centrally located in the heart of the city with a safe place to park a motorcycle in front of the Riad. A very friendly reception to a very historic/authentic Riad.

NetherlandsWe selected the Riad Mama H&K because the description mentioned a roof terrace and restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant service had been discontinued since COVID and the roof terrace was not usable due to building activity. Except for the -noisy- family living in the house, we were the only occupants and we felt strangely abandoned. The family was primarily preoccupied with themselves and less so with their guests. The room was not cleaned during our stay. The breakfast was ok, but served without warmth nor joy. No coffee refills, packaged juice and the last morning even the butter ran out. The stay was ok but based on the description and reviews we expected more.
The house and the room were beautiful (though without daylight). Perfect location

SpainWere no help to take luggage, even the staff see you carrying heavy luggage or different bags, they will just pass through your side. Happened in the arrival and the leave. Regarding the cleaning, they need to improve and cover all the areas because many areas were a bit dirty of dust, like shelves in the toilet and in the windows. Also light should improve a bit in some areas, it looks a bit darker than others. Breakfast was poor: artificial orange juices, no fruit, no omelette or eggs... No Moroccan and known products as harsha, crepes, baghrir... They gave us msemen cut in 7 tiny pieces... and we were 5. No water, only from the sink. Danone or any other brand for yogurts, and chocolate bakery and bakery rolls... It's supposed the riad is almost a 9 in Booking... The comment from the director about it was that the person in charge was not there for some issue, but honestly to cut some fruit, prepare orange juice, you don't need special abilities. Other Moroccan products can be bought in any of the shops around, hand and homemade.
The best was the location, easy to reach and to find in general. The room provided was a bit tiny, but had a little hall where we kept our luggage. Riads get used to be cozy, so the reality was it, well decorated and beautiful, even it looks a bit old in some way. You have to love this style.

United StatesThis was a great place to stay! The Riad is in the Medina of Meknes, which is a great place to stay to be right in the center. The one drawback to the location is that a taxi might not be able to get you all the way there, but it was around a 10 minute walk from the main road. The space is incredibly beautiful. Everything was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. When I was there, my friends and I were the only guests, making it a very private and quiet accommodation. The breakfast was also delicious and fully included.

United StatesThere was a strong sewage smell. They tried to cover it with a chemical cleaner, but it was quite disturbing. Furthermore, I have been to over 70 countries, and it takes a lot to make me feel uncomfortable. This property felt extremely creepy. It is like it has not been touched since 1908. There were very few guests, which added to the odd feeling. I share not to hurt their business, but I would feel uncomfortable staying here as a solo traveler. As a pair, it makes for a weird memory. We chose to leave a day earlier than planned. Now that I have been there, the reviews make more sense. It has the vibe of a haunted house at Disney World, and we jokingly expected a British colonial explorer to appear with a riffle. There were several times when we called out hello and couldn’t find anyone. I recommend the owner do something to improve the atmosphere.
It is obvious that they have tried to react to reviews. You can pay by card now. They have hired someone who speaks French. I do not speak French, but he was easy to communicate with. The shower and bed were good.

All was perfect. Hystorical riad in the Meknes medina. Wonderful place and attention to everything. The stay was excellent. The place is very clean, and the availability and kindness of the owner and their children is great! The rooms are typical and spacious enough and the patio of the riad is astonishing. Quality price ratio is very good. Good large breckfast too! You should do this experience!

MoroccoThe suite room was beautiful, but it was disappointing that there was no tea provided as a welcoming gesture, which is typically expected in Moroccan hospitality. Additionally, there were no bottles of water or glasses in the room, and it would have been convenient to have a mini fridge available. Furthermore, although the bathroom was nice and spacious, there was a major issue with the shower. Whenever I showered, the entire bathroom would flood, which was quite inconvenient and messy. On another occasion, when returning to the hotel with my colleagues at 11:00 PM, we encountered a frustrating situation. There was nobody available to open the door for us despite our attempts to knock and call the hotel staff. Unfortunately, we had to wait for a significant amount of time in front of the door before gaining access to the hotel.
The riad was nice and beautiful.
