Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was smooth and seamless from the very beginning. The owner met us at the property and gave us a warm introduction, not just to the house, but also to its unique value and history. We had just finished a tour of Europe, but the welcome we received here was on another level it truly made us feel at home. He also gave us a quick tour of the surrounding area and some excellent local food recommendations, which we really appreciated! The house itself was incredibly comfortable, and we felt completely safe both inside and while exploring the neighborhood. We genuinely couldn’t recommend this place more. The lady that was supervising the house + making the breakfast was phenomenal + super sweet! We went back and forth for a while on where to stay, and we’re so glad we chose this place. We loved it so much that I’m already planning to come back and wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else!

United KingdomThe kitchen would ideally have some more utensils - it only had a small selection of plates, cups, knives and forks. The bathroom would benefit from some modernisation.
Ali was a warm, welcoming and very helpful host, it was a pleasure to meet him. He came to meet us on arrivak when we were dropped off outside the medina by our driver, helped us with our luggage, and even gave us a complimentary bottle of delicious Moroccan wine for our first evening!

AzerbaijanGreat location right in the heart of the Medina. The host was very welcoming and hospitable, making the stay even more enjoyable. The only downside is that the room seemed a bit dated and could use some renovation. But overall, everything was convenient, and the experience was really nice.

Fabulous Riad in the old town very close to the famous Jemaa-el-fnaa square with beautifully decorated studio rooms and a lovely rooftop where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning! Run and owned by the 2 most lovely welcoming and warm brothers Simo and Ali! We absolutely loved our stay and will always recommend from now on to anyone travelling to Marrakesh! Simo and Ali were so kind and helpful giving us lots of tips for restaurants + places to visit and also organised a great trip to the desert with a camel ride! We can’t wait to go back and visit all the places we didn’t have time to this time!! Thank you so much Simo and Ali!! Kelly + Katherine xx

AustraliaOur family apartment had an area open to the outside. At this time of year, the living area was very cold.
Location within the Medina was outstanding, less than a 5 minute walk from the Jemma el Fnaa square. Beds were comfortable, kitchen adequate, breakfast on the rooftop terrace was great. Hosts were extremely responsive to any of our needs.

The location is within a 5-minute walking distance to Jama el Fna, souks, restaurants, and gift shops. The staff, Ali and his brother (whom my wife affectionately calls 'Ali's big brother'), are incredibly kind, resourceful, and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The breakfast is excellent, with freshly baked, cooked, and prepared food. My wife ordered handmade clothes and requested them to be delivered to the hotel before our arrival, it was well received as we were in Marrakesh earlier, staying at a different hotel before heading to the Sahara. When we returned to Marrakesh, we stayed at this hotel. Ali was very helpful in finding us a taxi to the train station, and they accommodated us wonderfully.

South AfricaNo fault to the owners but the riad is located next to an unsightly building that was badly damaged during the earthquake in September 2023 and is in the process of being demolished. So don’t be alarmed when you get there.
Lovely Riad run by two brothers, Mohammed and Allie who were born and raised in this family home. The hosts went out of their way to assist us by walking us to the market to orientate ourselves on day one. Allie and Mohammed also arranged airport shuttles services, hot air balloon trip and Atlas mountaintop excursions at a reasonable rate. We struggled to book tickets online for the Jardin and Mohammed kindly did this for us as well. Rooms are exceptionally clean and serviced daily. We had the very spacious deluxe apartment with courtyard and we received an authentic experience with the courtyard being open allowing birds to fly in to the ground floor apartment.

United StatesNot much soundproofing in this historic building and small bathroom.
This three story authentic riad-style house with a unit on each level is located in a pedestrian only part of the Medina - a perfect location. It has a festive rooftop terrace where residents receive a wonderful spread for breakfast and can also lounge anytime. Ali and Simo welcomed us with tea on the terrace, getting acquainted and making sure we got the most out of our stay. They sent us a list of restaurants based on our preferences and a list of points of interest, not on our tour. They made sure we connected with our tour and arranged for our transportation. They stayed in contact with us, freeing us from worry so we could enjoy our stay.

IrelandWe only stayed for one night at this riad, but it left such a positive impression that I’d highly recommend it for longer stays as well. From the very first moment, Ali and Simo went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Their kindness and attentiveness truly made a difference. Ali personally met us at a designated location and guided us to the riad, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The location is excellent—just a few minutes’ walk from the main square, yet tucked away enough to provide a peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of delicious traditional options that gave us a true taste of Morocco. Our room was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Although our stay was brief, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. A big thank you to Ali and Simo for their exceptional hospitality—I highly recommend this riad!
