How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewQuiet and comfortable rooms. Clean. Staff were nice
Nothing major. Parking is a long way from the hotel and requires a taxi. The hotel isn't easy to find. The pool and the rooftop are designed for "mountain goats". With a sore knee, I was unable to access them

Verified reviewThe riad was just outside of the Medina walls at the bottom of the hill. The walk to the blue gate was about 20 minutes, though up a steep hill. The room was spacious and the bed was large. There was hot water with good pressure in the shower. The breakfasts were excellent.
I had almost no interaction with the host - had to call to get the door opened upon arrival, I estimate I had a 5 minute wait in the alley. The host quickly showed me to my room and said we would sort out the checkin the following day (this was around 6pm). I found him a lot less welcoming than other riad hosts. The breakfast was nominally from 8:30-10 but on the first day there was no signs of life until after 9, I had to message the host to figure out the breakfast. The second day breakfast was also significantly after 9 which caused a bit of pressure getting to my bus. The chairs for breakfast were also uncomfortable, seemingly sliding you forward when you sit. The bed was not comfortable, I would say average for the riads I’ve visited. The terrace seems to be inaccessible except at breakfast. Perhaps this was not the case, but I never encountered the host apart from upon arrival so I couldn’t inquire. Payment was cash only which was a surprise, thankfully they accept Euro and USD in addition to MAD.

Verified reviewThe only thing i liked is the women in the kitchen who were very helpfull. Otherwise nothing much.
First of all the house/riad, was not worth it, dirty smelly, not good taken care of. Not worth the money. If you are over 1,40 height you will have problem. If you can’t go some stairs don’t take this one. You have to walk whole the way up to eat breakfast and rom. One more important thing the owner dont accept card, only cash. ( we had cash) so you will not get your rom if you don’t have cash. The owner seemed to be angry whole time for some reason. The only positive thing were the lady in the kichten who served the breakfast

Verified reviewThe terrace and breakfast was lovely and the bed was comfy.
Bad odour in the room, especially the bathroom. Broken toilet seat, towels were not very clean and it is not easy to find the property from the drop off point of the Medina.

Verified reviewThe Riad is very characteristic and well decorated. The room was fabulous with the colored-glass windows into the central court. The terrace was amazing with nice view of the Medina. The breakfast was delicious.
The Riad is located in a narrow alley in the downhill part of the Medina. It is very centric, but getting there from the top attractions can be tricky because you have to cross the whole maze of alleys and souks. At night, it was a bit dodgy.

Verified reviewAbdul (the host) is a very kind and attentive person, always willing to recommend places to go, day trips to do... He is the best. Among other things, he offered to print our boarding passes for free and took care of everything we weren't sure about. Also, the breakfast was superb, very diverse, abundant and with local product. If the weather is good, you can have it on the terrace, which has breathtaking views over the Medina. The location is perfect since taxis can drop you off only a minute away from the riad. The rooms are pretty nice and the staff is very helpful; they will leave the room each day as if it were the first day.
Although the bathroom was nice and clean, there was some sewage smell in it.

Verified reviewWe upgraded to two rooms on arrival which was an added bonus. The first floor rooms opening on to the courtyard were good. Quiet, very peaceful also very central location.
Stairs are very steep with no handrails, hard work and quite difficult for less mobile or elderly. Quite a workout to get to breakfast on the roof. Brother and sister running the Riad were a bit overstretched at times.

Verified reviewThe rooms were clean but our bathroom stank of sewerage. They were also renovating the place. So there was a lot of work and painting going on down stairs. The view from the terrace was lovely and the breakfast was good and a lot. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights but we ended up leaving on the second day around lunchtime because we couldn’t face staying another night with that smell with a bathroom sore that doesn’t close and no windows or extractor in the bathroom

Verified reviewTheir staff were excellent in helping hotel guests. They can speak many languages fluently. When they knew that I would check out early in the morning, they packed my breakfast for me, without charge or question! This riad provided really hot water for shower, my other booked hotels offered only slightly warm water which I only wanted to wash my hands.
The location is a bit far from the main road, one must walk the narrow alley to reach the riad.

Changed 'my' automatically created review from a 10 to a 7. Shame on you! Entrance is in a dark alley, i had no problems with that.

Verified reviewWe were made to feel really welcome here, and had some wonderful breakfasts on the rooftop terrace. The wifi worked well and the shower was hot and powerful (although a little slow to drain). All-in-all, it's a beautiful place to spend a few days.
The hairdryer could do with updating, and there was a lightbulb that could do with replacing (but there were enough lights in the room - so we wouldn't have used it anyway!)

Verified reviewThe riad is placed in a very old building (over 350 years old). It is placed at only 2 minutes from the road were the cars can arrive. The owner is very helpful and he will be able to provide you with city guides, wine, transfers by car and everything you need.
Being placed in an old building, the smell in the rooms can be anoying.
