Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome of the sinks and showers didn’t work very well.
The pool/water feature keeps the atrium cool even in 45C heat. The AC in the room worked well enough. There is space in the roof to dry clothes and they offer services to store your bags if you want to go on overnight trips. They also have an airport shuttle service though I did not use this. Owners were helpful and there is a good kitchen which you can use.

United StatesCentral pool water wasn’t clean. Security (front door) seemed to always be open for anyone to come in but I don’t think that’s a concern. Couldn’t tell who worked there and who didn’t and that could pose a concern if you’re a female traveling solo. No lockers just a storage area.
Location, close to bus stops and Medina. WiFi, structural design

GermanyRoom was very hot. I booked an air-conditioned room in a 6-bed room. They put me on a 8-bed room without functioning aircon. Doors can be easily opened.no privacy.
Friendly staff. Accommodating and organized when it comes to accommodation and organization of taxi service.

FinlandSome rooms are better than others. We stayed in a room on the second floor during our first stay which was lovely but the room on the first floor is just ok. There are lockers outside the rooms but not enough, especially on the first floor. My sheet had a big hole on it & sometimes the bathrooms run out of toilet paper. For the price it's ok but there are better hostels in Marrakech for a similar price range. :)
Great location and good value for money. We stayed here for one night and returned for another night during a quick stop in Marrakech. The breakfast included is nice, better than a lot of other hostel breakfast I've had! The main/first floor is super cute and colorful with a small pool in the middle and plenty of seating space, and the rooftop is even better, a very nice space! In my opinion, the amount of toilets and showers is really good. They provide blankets upon request as it can get a bit chilly during the night. :)

Convenient location, close to popular areas but without street noise Beautiful building Helpful but unobtrusive staff Breakfast was passable, but great for being included in cheap price

BelgiumThe bathroom on the first floor was somewhat small and shabby to my liking. Also the bed didn't feel super stable while it probably was. But these are minor things, I think for what it's worth it's a perfect place to stay.
So many colours! The host was super friendly. I also like the location in the middle of a kind of a market neighbourhood, you can wander around for hours there without any sense of direction (which is so rare nowadays) haha.

SpainWe didn't like the way the owner/boss of the hostel adressed us. He seemed more focused on his own business than on the well-being of his guests, so he could be rude sometimes. Also, we have a suggestion regarding the terrace policy: it would be helpful to mention in the hostel description that after midnight, no noise is allowed. This means guests must either stay outside (which is not very safe) or go to sleep before midnight.
The staff at Riad Dia are lovely, always smiling and ready to help. The location is amazing, 2min to jema el fnaa. The breakfast was good, the bathrooms were fine, and the terrace is a nice space to relax (it closes at midnight). A special thank you to Mohammed and Hamza—we truly appreciate your service and good energy!

CanadaI stayed on a room located on the bottom floor so I often heard people talking outside in the common area late at night or early in the morning. I would recommend getting a room on the second floor.
The staff were wonderful and made sure to make guests feel welcomed and invited. Upon arriving to the property, they took extra care to explain the neighborhood and tourist attractions. They answered all my questions and were always available if I needed help.

United KingdomIt was super cold in the rooms (Jan 2024). This was the main issue. It was colder in the hostel than it was outside on the street for some reason. The bathrooms were not the most appealing (maybe it was because we were cold) which meant that we didn’t actually shower as we only stayed one night and waited to go to the next place. If you’re aware you might need to wear a jumper at night it should be fine though.
The beds were comfy, plugs by the bed, it was sociable in the room and the staff were really nice. The rooftop is nice to socialise and the location is perfect. It’s beautifully decorated too, even the trees are painted.
