How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is the most beautiful Riad we’ve stayed at. It feels so luxurious and grand with high ceilings and beautiful finishes. The pool was a big hit for our kids, and it was such a quiet and calm oasis. Our host Moufid went above and beyond and was incredibly helpful with arranging a tour guide for us and giving us great recommendations. Do yourself a favour and stay here!

Verified reviewExcellent host, made us feel special and at home, there for all our needs 😀. You could also see there was a lot of effort put into the rooms
As with most riads, it is a bit claustrophobic, without sun and difficult to locate, but this is not specific to this accommodation. If I had known the concept I might have not chosen riads overall everywhere

Verified reviewThe most amazing aspect of the stay was Moufid. What a superb host. From even before we arrived he went out of his way to help. We stayed as a family of four in a ground floor room and had plenty of space. The property is located within the maze of the medina but it still has relatively easy access to the main road when arriving by taxi. The beautiful courtyard and amazing traditional breakfasts completed a very enjoyable stay.

Verified reviewThe Riad is gorgeous! It is an oasis hidden behind a simple door in the narrow dark streets of the medina. Moufid went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He even arranged an eat in meal our last night as one of our party was not feeling well and it was pouring out.
It was a bit difficult to shower without getting water on the floor. Other than that everything was great.

Verified reviewNice location, beautiful accommodation, kind staff
We booked 3 double rooms for two days because we are 3 married couples. But when we arrived we were told that the two couples would have to sleep in a quadruple room because in the morning there was a plumbing failure in one of the rooms. Since our position was very difficult, we asked them to repair the damage and stay at least the next day in different rooms, but they said it was impossible. Unfortunately they were LIES. The next day we saw on the Booking.com platform that they had other rooms available. I WILL NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN! UNACCEPTABLE!!!
thank you for the review we expected that but it's okay the previous reviews from amazing clients it's enough for us but let told our new customers the true story 25/11/23 , six friends or 3 couples do booking three rooms at our hotel. Laughter echoed through the corridors as they settled into their respective spaces. A couple accidentally or intentionally broke the faucet and water pipe in their room. The true intention is unknown, but it became a serious issue as water started spraying throughout their room, prompting the hotel staff to relocate the occupants to their friends' room, a cozy space with four beds. Despite the unexpected turn of events, the friends adapted, turning their temporary overcrowded haven into a lively gathering spot. However, the group, decided they desired yet another room. Confidently, they approached the front desk, expressing their wish for an additional space without any intention of footing the bill. The hotel staff faced the challenge of balancing hospitality with the need to maintain fairness and uphold policies. And so, the hotel became the backdrop for a weekend filled with unexpected twists between other clients and them... unfortunately we don't know how to deal with them because they don't accept anything. I can say they lack confidence in themselves. NP : The room I gave you is priced at 250 euros.

Verified reviewThis place is an absolute treasure! Moufid is the most lovely host and he’ll go out of his way to make sure you have the best time. He helped us find a guide last minute for a tour, a barber and food recommendations. He also ensured we were paying reasonable prices all along by telling us what to expect. The riad can be a little difficult to find but it’s ok once you’ve gotten your bearings. Overall, would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your glowing review! We're thrilled to hear you had a positive experience with us. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back. Appreciate your support! with our best Moufid

Moufid took amazingly good care of us, and gave us a lot of good advice. A great experience overall, made our trip to Fes unforgettable!

Verified reviewIt is impossible to rate this property as we were taken to a different place, due to an apparent issue with power supply (or something in that area). We weren't announced of this problem before arrival so there was nothing to do. I have gone for the "straight face" as I have no info about the actual property. We stayed in a decent place, fairly clean, but nothing close to what Chad Palace looks like in pictures. We don't believe there was something wrong with Chad Palace, we think they overbooked, but that's just our opinion.

Verified reviewBe careful when booking with this Riad as this is not the Riad you’re going to stay! Not sure about before, based on the reviews, but they completely fooled us. Our booking was on the 22nd of June 2023 for one night. We received on the same day of the booking a text message from Moufid for us to call them immediately and said that our room that we booked has some issues and the rest of the rooms in this Riad are fully booked and therefore we would have to stay somewhere else, when in booking.com showed that this RIAD CHAHD PALACE has plenty of rooms available. He kept lying to us saying that he previously sent us a request to cancel when we haven’t received anything or any explanation of the issue and he kept blaming on booking.com. He sent us in another Riad way cheaper and nothing similar then the original booking that we made and it seemed that he didn’t even want to give us a refund. Breakfast was really poor on the riad we stayed as well as the Wifi. Came to find out by ourselves and asking in the neighbourhood that the RIAD CHAHD PALACE is completely closed for now due to refurbishment. We received our refund but the experience was completely terrible…
hello everything you said is a lie, a lie my answer not for you but i write it for our next costumer first of all we show you the room what you bought and you say noo it's on the ground we need one in the second floor you didn't accept it so it's not our fault and as a help from me to you, I found you another room, but you wanted to blackmail me. Thank God, all previous comments did not mention anything negative about us except you.

Just as a suggestion, it would be nice to have a reception where to find always someone during the day.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Borj Dhab because Chahd palace had no space. The hosts help you with everything you need. You get a map, they can arrange a taxi or tour guide, and help to make a reservation at a restaurant, and even put your wine in their fridge. They were even willing to share their recipes of the absolutely delicious dinner. Nothing is too much. Thanks again!
If anything, there is no pool

Verified reviewWhen first arriving the riad had a wow factor with ornate mosaics and plaster work in the traditional Moroccan style.
The bathroom was only just functional. The door didn't close or lock, the toilet seat was broken, shower head didn't stay in its holder, the smell from drains was overwhelming at times. Tv was missing leaving exposed cables. Bedside light was broken. Tiles on the floor were loose creating a trip hazard. The manager after 3 nights showed his true colours. Whilst appearing sincere on our welcome, we soon found him to be the opposite and was disinterested and non engaging with us. Breakfast was very poor, drinks were cold, omelettes were cold and there was no variation on what was to offer.

Verified reviewThe communication with Moufid prior to arrival was excellent. He contacted me through WhatsApp to let us know the airport pick up was arranged and with some helpful information. The staff in the hotel were all friendly and helpful. Moufid sat us down on arrival with mint tea and explained and organized a guide to make it more efficient for my mother to see the important sites of the Medina. The Ryad is beautiful and the rooms comfortable. The breakfast was nice and tasty.
People checking in at 1:30am at night and talking loudly in the courtyard where our windows were opening onto and waking us up.

Verified reviewThe place was in a nice location and had good value for money. The hosts were very helpful and were happy to arrange several touristic stuff for us. The building was very beautiful and the room was comfortable, there was a huge double bed n in the big area and two small ones in a smaller detached room upstairs.
Unfortunately we could not have breakfast because our tour was leaving at 8am. Also, there was no clear separation for the water of the shower, so the bathroom would get a bit messy.

Verified reviewStaff, position.. everything Moufid welcome us in Riad Chahd Palace for our 3 days in Fez. Riad Chahd Palace, in addition to being equipped with everything you need, it is also a really beautiful place, but the real secret of this place is Moufid himself. He is simply exceptional, he will give you all the info you need, he will personally bring you in every place inside the Medine where is better to be escorted by a local, he will manage and arrange all the trip you would like to have near Fez, he will suggest you in bargaining with local shops inside the Medina, in conclusion he will really help you with everything you may need. Moreover, Moufid is a really smart and curious person, we spent much time talking about different cultures and habits between our country and Morocco and there were always such nice conversations. We definitely recommend Riad Chahd Palace and its host Moufid, they will make your holidays in Fez even better. Thanks Moufid, Sara and Michele

Verified reviewI DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. I have recommended this riad after our first visit, however probably the owner was changed and our second stay there was drastically opposite: the staff did not follow agreements (we had a problem) and lied (at least 3 times), the bathroom was dangerous : the door was not attached to the wall ( I attached the photo) and fell down on me, also this door was a reason for puddle and slippery floor in the bathroom. A room of my kids was stank and they had had headsick.
