I wouldn't change anything.

There was nothing not to like about Riad Assakina we absolutely loved our stay it was so brilliant. Our room was amazing. The breakfast was excellent and very tasty and served in the courtyard which was really pleasant. Good variety of pastries and fruit and our favourite, Berber Eggs and really good coffee which was basically a bottomless cup. Communication with Michelle was easy and our questions answered promptly, she arranged our pick up from the airport, breakfast on arrival and helped with recommendations. The staff were so friendly and helpful, in particular Naoual who helped us navigate the streets of Marrakech and recommendations on where to eat etc and Hicham who was always ready to help with a smile, another cup of coffee and went above and beyond when our driver for our next destination went to the wrong Riad and carried our suitcases to meet him. It was also a treat when we arrived 'home' in the afternoon to be welcomed with afternoon tea which included mint tea. Another special touch was having our bed turned down with a sweet treat left on the pillow.

Breakfast was excellent. A lot of choices, very well prepared and presented, very tasty. And to have it on the rooftop terrace was absolutely lovely. Michele, Noële (apologies for spelling incorrectly) and all the staff were extremely nice, helpful and prompt. The afternoon tea and cake was a delightful bonus.

The Ryad is perfectly situated right next to the Bahia Palace and conveniently close to El Badi, the Saadian tombs and the newly opened MAP museum - each a must see in Marrakech. As you step through the narrow gate, you are greeted by an oasis of tranquility and exquisite Moroccan style decor, where every detail has been thoughtfully selected by our gracious host, Michelle. The rooms on the first floor are spacious and beautifully adorned with local furniture, artwork, and upholstery. The beds are large and super comfortable, featuring luxurious linen bedding. Michelle warmly welcomed us with tea and provided invaluable guidance, tips, and a map that became my trusty companion throughout our stay, filled with plenty of spots to visit and restaurants recommendations. The staff, especially Hicham and Nawal, are dedicated to ensuring your well being and are always ready to assist. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Hicham who shared insights into Moroccan history. Breakfast was a delightful start of the day with fresh fruit salad, orange juice, and a wid selection of eggs, French toast (best ever tasted) and breads. In the late afternoon, we enjoyed complimentary tea and cake on the rooftop. What truly made our stay special was our interaction with Michelle, who offered countless pieces of advice, suggestions and ideas to enhance our time in Marrakech. She was incredibly attentive to our needs and we were always captivated by her amazing stories about the Ryad and her 20 years of experience in Marrakech. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and wholeheartedly recommend this Ryad to anyone looking to experience the charm of Marrakech in the medina.

Exceptional support from the owner, Michelle, who helped to organise us after a busy few days before we arrived. A real refuge from the hustle & bustle of the Medina. Great care & attention from the team who did everything to make our stay memorable. Characterful & carefully re-designed riad with space for all guests to enjoy the facilities. It was all great. Can't think of anything other than I wish I had stayed longer than 3 nights. Maybe a trip to the mountains or coast.

We had such a lovely stay at Riad Assakina. The location was perfect – less than ten minutes to the main square, and the walk there is an experience in itself, full of life, street food, market stalls, and loads of atmosphere. The Rhiad itself was beautifully restored by the current owners (they have a photo book of the before and after) and it felt like a real haven to come back to after a day exploring the city. We had a beautiful room on the ground floor with high ceilings. The furniture was really tasteful and the bed was so comfy. The breakfast was fruit to start and a basket of breads and jams with a choice of eggs, pancakes and teas and coffees. I was stuffed and it sets you up for the day. We were also treated to complimentary mint tea and cakes, which was such a nice touch after a day of sightseeing. Like coming home to your grandma's and being looked after! Grant and Michele, were absolutely amazing – full of great advice, and always happy to help with anything from booking taxis to recommending places to eat. On the first evening we had a restaurant booked for us and one of their lovely staff walked us to the square to show us where it was. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay – would 100% recommend and I would love to go back.

Wonderful stay! Grant and Michele are very devoted to creating the most comfortable and enjoyable guest experience. From a delightful breakfast to a list of recommendations to transportation arrangements to a daily coffee and cake break, they make you feel like (well loved) family. Beds very comfortable and room clean. I would be a little careful walking home past 10 if you’re a solo traveller and opt for a taxi instead.

Grant and Michelle were excellent in helping us prepare for the trip, giving us tips, and helping us with last-minute requests in their Riad. The team is amazing, and you have a different experience while staying there. You interact with other guests and feel that your accommodation is much more than a place to sleep and leave your luggage. The place is outstanding and has been created with so many details, as the owners care about it!

Michelle and Grant are outstanding hosts and exceeded our expectations. They arranged airport pickup, greeted us warmly with tea and cookies, gave us recommendations for eateries and sights, always made sure all our needs were met. The riad was centrally located, very easy to find, each room individually and tastefully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was delicious! Everything was fantastic!
