Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe hotel's location even if is 5 minutes walking from Palais Royal, but is on a small street in medina , which is not very nice, but was ok even in the night. For the breakfast are only 5 options standard from which you can choose.
The hotel is in old town, near medina and Palais Royal is only 5 minutes waking. The room and the hotel were nice, with nice architecture and clean rooms. The personal was friendly and help me with all information needed. Was also possible to let my luggage in the reception before I left and to make late check-in. They have also a nice terrace up.

United StatesParking was not easy to find at first if you are driving. Its best to ask for the parking location otherwise street guides will take you to parking further away. The rooms can be hot at night but do have nice fans.
Cute and beautiful riad in the heart of the medina. The young woman at reception is friendly and a wonderful help. She also communicates well about check in as the riad is in the medina and not easy to find the first time. The roof top terrace is lovely along with the morning breakfast. Wish we had had more time to explore the medina>

ItalyThe riad is in a very good position, in the Mellah of Tetouan. the room was big and the bathroom also very big (with a bidet which I consider definetly a plus). You have the possibility to choose a breakfast which was good and abundant. The riad also host events and there was one when I was there. To me it was not a problem also because all ended at 11pm. May be this is something that could be made known in advance to the guests.

United StatesYou should know that with these riads, the walls are thin and the structure is old which means you can hear everything which means very little privacy. Also the location was a bit strange it was very tucked away in an old alley way (which is what the whole medina is like) if you like that kind of thing.
The staff was nice. Also, the stay here was much better than any other riad in the medina. Everything on the inside was updated including bed, sheets, paint etc. which is actually more rare to find. It made the stay very comfortable.

SpainThe need to keep asking for towels daily in part due to the shower not draining and partly flooding the bathroom. Also our room was never made or changed during our 5 day stay.
Location was brilliant. The staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble. Always on hand for a chat and advice.

SpainWe chose a private bathroom (it is outside the room, but no problem with that because he told us in advance) and we realised it had been used by someone else (sink was dirty and there was a butt in the toilet)
Host really nice and considerated. We had a wedding at night and arrived at the riad at 6am and he kindly open the door for us.

NetherlandsThe staff was really nice. On our last day we needed to leave very early to take the ferry (6 am). One of the staff members (or owner) insisted on brining us to our car park. Such an amazing gesture. Thanks again for that! The location and the atmosphere are amazing at Bab El Fan!

United KingdomIt is a little tricky to find the Riad, which can be annoying upon arrival! The nearby streets feel like a maze (but they are fascinating to explore). We got used to it after the first night.
The Riad is in the heart of the Medina (a little tricky to find it but they provided us with a map and we eventually did find the place). It is a lovely hidden gem in a maze of narrow streets. The breakfast is cooked daily and fresh (there are 4 options to choose from). Big shoutout to the staff (everyone was extremely kind) and particularly to Yusra, who has been a star in helping us!! Thanks Yusra!

PolandThe riad is located in the heart of Medina (you can follow the signs on the streets so you won't get lost) so you can visit the tourist attractions on foot. The great quality at the best price, they have 24/7 reception, all speak English, we had a private bathroom in our room, also a tasty breakfast was included in the price. The reception and common zone is beautiful! 100% recommended.

FranceI suppose we should have realised when other reviews talked about music and youngsters on the roof. There was a fair bit of noise in the evenings with people overhead on the roof and live music downstairs. The noise stopped at 11pm.
Well located in the medina, close to shops, sights and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy bed and couches. Very hot water in the shower. Excellent choice of breakfasts. The room was very traditional and cute. Everything clean. Good value for money.

MoroccoThe bathroom window overlooks the courtyard and it doesn't close all the way It would have been nicer to have a TV in the suite It gets a bit chilly at night, a heater would have been a nice touch
I liked the traditional vibe, the nice fairouz music playing and the little details our suite had The staff was very helpful, friendly and nice, especially Alaa and Youssra The Riad is located within the deep alleys of the Medina so it is as authentic an experience as it gets. They sent over a gentleman to meet us at the parking, which we also found thanks to Alaa. I loved all the little windows in the suite.

AustraliaROOF PARTY for the local kids from 4 or 5 Till 11 PM EVERY DAY SO DONT STAY HERE IF YOU NEED SLEEP! Hard to find and no directions given. Street names don’t appear on maps. Would be nice if a map was given or advice what there is to do . We had the upstairs room. they don’t tell you your private bathroom is outside and 7 steps down a skinny corridor and that the partiers push open the locked door to use your bathroom. The only way we could stop it was to push the latch on the inside, meaning we had to squeeze in and out a tiny gap. We didn’t even feel comfortable/safe showering in the evening as the partiers were at the top of the stairs.
the breakfast was very good.

ItalyThis is the loudest place I have ever stayed in. The Riad serves also as a bar with live music. Our room had no sound isolation and was facing the inner part of the building, were the music was played. This meant that until the music stopped (at 23:00) the room was as loud as being at the bar. I understand this is the policy of the facility, but I would like to have the chance not to participate to the live music session, if I don't want to. Moreover, during the whole afternoon and morning, very loud music was played from the speakers by the reception staff, making you really impossible to enjoy the stay. The medina in Tetouan is very poorly mapped in Google Maps, so for us it was impossible to find the facility if not helped by some locals (in most cases just asking for money).
The room was very large and clean. The bed was very comfortable and all services were very good. The breakfast was not huge, but the quality was great.
