How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was good and the room was big (because we selected a bigger room). Nice Moroccan breakfast at the rooftop.
Bedsheet was thin and synthetic and not feeling comfortable and hygienic. Bathroom did not have a proper ventilation. The host tried to sell us tours for way too much money. You can find it easier for much cheaper online (a third of the price).

Verified reviewOur stay at Riad 5 Sens was a lovely experience from start to finish. Abdo looked after us from before we even got on the flight, making sure we had a transfer arranged and were welcomed to the Riad even after we were delayed by 2 hours. We cannot fault the Riad - the breakfasts were delicious, the bedroom and bathroom comfortable and clean, and we also made use of the hot tub and pool which was a nice way to escape the city for a few hours and relax. The Riad was in a lovely quiet location, yet also just a few minutes walk to main areas such as Ben Youssef Madras and the souks. After a day or two we were finding our way around easily. Above all else, we appreciated the hospitality of Abdo and the girls throughout our stay. Abdo made our stay feel like staying with a friend, always wanting us to feel relaxed and adding extra touches such as free teas and coffees to help us feel cared for. He was always available for any advise about the local culture, activities etc and we felt that his presence made the experience a lot more personalised and authentic. We would happily stay here again, and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Marrakesh!
Nothing!

Verified reviewThe property was spotlessly clean and the room was a great size and well equipped. Breakfast each morning was incredible, nice variety of food and everything was cooked to perfection and served with a smile - I especially enjoyed the eggs each morning. The location was great, easy walk into the main tourist areas and we both felt very safe walking around, even late at night. The true star of the show at Riad 5 sens is the staff though, and I can’t thank Abdou and his team enough for making our stay so enjoyable. His communication both before and during the stay was excellent, helping us to book transfers from the airport and giving us lots of helpful tips and recommendations for our stay in Marrakech. It’s rare that we visit a place and stay in a hotel and want to come back, but we are already planning on returning to stay with Abdou and his team at Riad 5 sens in the future - they really are that good. Thanks again to everyone at Riad 5 sens for a perfect stay and we will see you soon!
Really nothing to say here! It can be a bit noisy throughout the night, due to being so central, so would recommend earplugs for any light sleepers, but this was a very minor point.

Verified reviewThe Riad is clean, beautifully maintained and the breakfast on the terrace is superb. My son and I stayed here and the host Abdou was more than a host - he was a well of wisdom and kindness. We wanted to go to the desert for a few days and were unsure about which of the many agents to use as there are so many options of varying quality and without prior knowledge one could easily end up with an unpleasant experience. We left it to Abdou to arrange and he instinctively knew what we needed. Our tour was life changing and Abdou had arranged some very special accommodation options for us so at the end of each long day we had a perfect meal in beautiful accommodation. I would highly recommend 5 Sens as a place to base yourself and leave it to Abdou to sort the rest ‘cause he’s the best!

Verified reviewVery clean, well kept and beautiful property in a great location. A tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. Staff are wonderfully accommodating and very helpful. A beautiful breakfast is provided each day, all homemade and locally sourced. Abdo was very helpful in arranging transfers to the airport, collecting us from our drop off location and carrying our luggage back to the riad. Sharing tips for getting around the medina and what to expect when buying in the market. Offering to print boarding passes and always at our service. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
Our bed was a little hard but nothing that would put me off staring at this property again.

Verified reviewVery helpful host - Abdou - met us from airport transfer, good tips re finding our way around medina. On-site Hamman and massages were fabulous. On-site dinner was amazing.
Just be aware you need to ask if you want to use the jacuzzi - takes a while to heat up (we stayed in early season).

Verified reviewThe Riad is well placed to explore the old town, with restaurants near by and the jemaa el fna square a 15min walk. We felt very safe exploring and getting lost during the day and at night. It’s a quiet , calm and welcoming Riad not least because of Abdo and the staff. He is the most accommodating host I’ve met in a long time. He came to meet us from the taxi in the rain, he took us to our pick up point for a balloon trip at 5am (he insisted as he wanted to make sure we didn’t get lost), he sourced fresh spices and recommended a local hammam. He has an unassuming, friendly manner and is available at any time. The breakfast is served on a terrace in the sun - served by friendly, helpful staff.

Verified reviewThank you to the fabulous team at Riad 5 Cens. We had a warm welcome and throughout our stay everyone was attentive, respectful, polite and thoughtful. Abdul especially went out of his was to check we had everything we needed, help with information and even helped with a traditional cure and went to the shops for bread when one of us was poorly. The Riad is peaceful and beautiful, though a little hard to find. It would have been good to have a sign at the street entryway and a clearer sign outside. Our room had everything we needed and had a Morrocan style which we loved. There are a range of public areas to suit different times of day and weather. There was a real air of hospitality, breakfast was delicious and the traditional mint tea and biscuits were always on offer. Thank you to everyone at Riad 5 Cens for a wonderful stay.

Verified reviewThe host Aldo, his hospitality is exceptional. He could not do enough to help us. The lunch we received upon arrival was excellent, as was the breakfast. Definitely take the time, if you can to enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the balcony. The location is great, definitely expect to get lost in the Medina, as it's like a maize but this just adds to the adventure. A great city to visit.
Very little not to like. The room was not serviced in the four days we were there, but I'm sure if we asked, it would have been, so it's not really a big deal. We did not have a key to the main door of the building, but again, not a major issue.

Verified reviewThe staff who were super polite, The breakfast which was traditional Moroccan. The host had great tips and advice on how to negotiate a good price. I told the host of my partner’s birthday on the actual day and he arranged to get a bunch of flowers. Very very kind .
Toilet brush broken, Had to knock on the main door to gain entry to the hotel every time we returned. Whilst this wasn’t too much of an issue it seemed unfair to have to bother the staff needlessly.

Verified reviewI had an absolutely wonderful stay at this riad, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the host, Abdo, went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. He was incredibly attentive, checking on us every now and then when we were out, just to make sure everything was okay. The riad itself was lovely—comfortable bed, great air conditioning, excellent water pressure, and good facilities overall. It’s also very close to the souks and other tourist sites like the Le Jardin Secret, Madrasa Ben youssef are all just 6min walk from the Riad. The breakfast at the riad was a standout as well. The portion sizes were incredibly generous, and there was a great variety to choose from. Fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and traditional Moroccan bread with jams and honey—everything was delicious and more than enough to start the day. It was such a treat to enjoy a hearty breakfast in the peaceful setting of the riad, with plenty of options to satisfy every taste One thing that really stood out was how helpful Abdo was when we were out shopping. We would send him pictures of what we wanted to buy, and he would always give us an accurate estimate of what it should cost, saving us from overpaying or getting ripped off. It was a thoughtful touch that really showed how much he cared about our experience. And as first timers in Marrakesh this was very helpful Another highlight was Abdo’s signature tea. Not only did we get to enjoy it regularly during our stay, but he also took the time to teach my partner how to make it, adding a personal touch to our visit. The only small downside was the lack of signage to indicate that it was the riad, which made it a little tricky to find at first. However, it’s nothing to worry about as long as you arrange a pickup with the host, as cars can’t drop you directly at the riad.
There’s really nothing to dislike about the property itself, it’s beautiful and well-maintained. However, one thing that could be improved is the lack of a sign to indicate it’s the riad, which can make it a bit tricky to locate. I’d recommend arranging a pickup with the host beforehand, as cars cannot drop you directly in front of the property. You’ll need to walk about 4 minutes from the main drop-off point, but the host can make this process much smoother.

Verified reviewOur stay at Riad 5 Sens in Marrakesh was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, Abdul, the manager, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. His attentiveness and genuine care were truly remarkable—he was available 24/7 for any needs or questions, ensuring we had a seamless and comfortable experience. The staff were equally amazing—always friendly, professional, and attentive to every detail. Breakfast was delicious, offering a great variety to start the day right, and the rooms were spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. It felt like staying with family in the most welcoming way. The riad itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the location is perfect for exploring the vibrant city of Marrakesh. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, hospitality, and charm, Riad 5 Sens is an absolute gem. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!

If you are ever lost or stuck, you can have the hotel whatsup and someone can 'rescue' you if you are lost in the city !
