How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery cute property and friendly staff. I had accidentally booked for two instead of three and they adapted really well. Easy to find with maps and have spray painted signs pointing in right direction. Didn’t matter though as they had someone meet us and also walk us out to taxi.

Verified reviewThe staff was very hospitable and helped us navigate through the medina. The food was delicious. You don't need to worry about finding shops to buy water in the medina, the staff can get it for you at any time.

Verified reviewThis was my favorite place I stayed in all of Morocco. I cannot put into words how much I enjoyed this place - it felt like being welcomed into a family which I appreciated especially because I was travelling alone. Water, tea, or coffee was always available to you, and I had so many wonderful chats with the people who worked there and the guests who visited from all across the world. The AC worked super well, they upgraded my room, and I have no idea why but the sheets were some of the softest I've ever felt in my life. They were also super helpful with organizing tours and transfers, and because I emphasized to them I was a student were able to give me very good prices (I know this because I am a cheapskate haha and researched all possible options before committing to anything). When I found something elsewhere with a better price, I told them and they either matched it or said they couldn't but there was no problem between us. When I return to Fes, I know exactly where I will stay.
Because of the restaurant, noise might be a problem for someone in the terrace room who wants to go to bed before 10 PM but I don't think that would affect most people. I am quite the grandmother with my bedtime, and extremely sensitive to noise besides, but I slept super well.

Verified reviewThe property was clean and quite small. But, our room was on ground floor and only wooden wall was dividing the room and eating area. We were able to hear the people speaking till 10pm. We weren’t feeling comfortable in our own room.
The location is in Medina and there are scammer all around the property who always ready to mislead you. The scammers are not just adults but even children and that was even more sad to see. The host were too pushy about everything. When I ask about for italian restaurant they open my google and showed there restaurant and was too pushy to try there food which was way to expensive according to Morocco standard. Even while leaving the other guy also make me open booking.com and again started to be pushy to give 10 points review (the host were 3 brothers). All male staff no single female working there to greet and make female guests comfortable. Worst Riad experience till date. The host were always on head to book there things. They looked at us just another money bank.
Thank you for your comment. I don't know where to start. Firstly, we took the taxi customers to the hotel and we gave them an excellent welcome with tea, cakes and a bottle of water. After that, the customers asked for food. They didn't talk about Italian food, just food, and of course, we're going to present our product like everyone else. They are very happy. The problems from outside are not related to the establishment. After that, this couple speaks to my family in a very bad way. I don't know why we didn't insist. On the other hand, they are balanced with an excellent breakfast and they said thank you very much for the help with the suitcases. It's really very sad to meet people like that, people who only tried to knock on you and didn't think about things going well, but thank God that most of the comments, 90%, are positive. I hope that this customer will help them.

Verified reviewIt was a very good stay and the staff very helpful and kind. Especially Amin and Mahmoud. Certainly a family-friendly atmosphere. Apart from that, they have also put very helpful signs in main spots so it was no trouble to find the riad. I also liked the breakfast! it had it all!

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay at Palais Fes Yahya. Beautiful decorated riad, comfy rooms and a welcoming atmosphere from all the family. We definitely recommend to have dinner cooked by the mum of the family on the lovely terrace - one of the best tagines we had during our whole trip 🙏

Verified reviewThe place was truly beautiful and the staff extremely helpful and cordial. They were always present and ready to assist us if needed. The room was clean and equipped with everything necessary. Wi-Fi was working perfectly throughout the building. We especially loved the beautiful terrace and the food — one of the best tagines we had during our trip in Morocco! Breakfast was also very nice, and on our last day, they kindly prepared it for us to take away since we had to leave very early.
Our room was located just below the terrace, so during dinner time it could get a bit noisy and less private if we kept the window open. However, the window is coloured, so with it closed, no one could see inside, and usually after 9 PM it would quiet down and we could sleep very well.

Verified reviewIt's a lovely family and a beautiful place, they were very warm and gentle. We had an issue in which they made a mistake with our laundry (it can happen to anyone) and they were very responsible and solved it. I think this is proof oh the good service they provide.

The room was too small, but may be this is normal for the riads in Fes medina!
