There's way too much noise near the hotel, it's understandable since it's located right above cafe central and is in the middle of the Old Medina but to anyone considering booking please bear in mind that it might be difficult to get a decent night of sleep

The staff were lovely and the facilities were clean

    1) Lack of air conditioning. 2) The noise from the plaza outside was overwhelming - not just people talking, but also musicians playing loudly and a guy with a microphone yelling until well after midnight.

Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable.

Facilities could use a little bit of upgrade, especially the bathroom. One toilet paper roll for 3 people is not very generous. After all, you get what you pay for. The stay was nice and the location is perfect.

It’s a bare bones place. I would only recommend if you need a very quick stopover for a night or two.

Relatively easy to find in the Medina. The owner/host was a very nice, polite, friendly, attentive older gentleman - we felt very welcome even late at night it wasn’t a problem to check in.

Great location, exceptional staff. Basic accommodation and facilities, but perfect for a short stay. Hotel is in the petite socco so can be a bit noisy, particularly in rooms facing the square, however there are additional roller shutters in these windows.

No tea/coffee making facilities. No aircon/ceiling fan, had to have the balcony door open, which meant lots of noise from the restaurant below the hotel.

Very basic room, but can't complain for the price. Good location in the centre of town, with restaurant below, good prices and good food, including breakfast menu.

As good as the location is, it's also right over a couple of very popular cafes. The walls between floors/rooms/hallways are thin, so noise levels are high. In my case, I forgot to bring my earplugs. If you stay here, don't forget your earplugs or at least ask for a room in the back, away from the cafes. To be fair, I stayed over the weekend and into the week. Fortunately, the noise levels dropped during the week.

The Medina location was very convenient and easy to find. The multilingual staff was friendly, and the room and ensuite bathroom were simple but clean. They were also very flexible with my booking. I kept adding additional days, and they were accommodating. They also booked a 5 AM taxi for me, and the ride came right on time, with a professional attitude.

Condition of the room could be improved; it was not very clean. Because of its location there is a lot of noise from the pedestrian alley right below the second floor of the hotel.

Good location in the Petit Socco, centrally located relative to the medina and the port. Room was comfortable (size). Stayed in a room with balcony that was great. Price was ok (i.e., you get what you pay for).

The location of Hotel Mauritania is great — it’s right in the heart of Tangier and close to many attractions. However, our overall experience was very disappointing. We stayed during the summer, and it was extremely hot. Unfortunately, the hotel has no air conditioning or even fans in the rooms. It was impossible to sleep because of the heat. On top of that, the noise from outside continued all night — people talking loudly in the street made it even harder to rest. The hotel also lacks basic amenities. They provided very limited shampoo and soap, and there was no lift/elevator, which was very inconvenient, especially if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. Sadly, we didn’t get any proper sleep during our stay, and we expected more comfort for the price. I would not recommend this hotel, especially during the summer months.

The only good thing about Hotel Mauritania is its central location and the nearby beach, which is nice.

Although the hotel had a nice location, it is situated in the middle of the medina and it was very loud, so sleeping at night wasn't amazing. The wifi did not work at all for us. They don't have their own parking, so you can't get there by car, but there are lots of paid parking around. So you could park and walk to the hotel. The rooms were overall clean, but still gave you the feeling that its dirty. The window curtains were torn. Overall you get what you are paying for (low rate, don't expect too much).

The hotel had a good location in terms that you can easy to walk around and to many sight seeing places. The staff was very friendly. The room overall seemed clean.
