Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyWe have booked a suite and the first day they have given us a room, we had to tell them to change room. You can't choose your own breakfast, they give you what they want. We had a lamp near the bed that didn't work and they have not fixed it in 4 days...even if we have told them.
The position is wonderful, the Riad is beautiful inside. The staff is always gentle and smiling

United Arab EmiratesThe owner is quite unfriendly and shows little interest in providing the kind of personalized experience you would expect from a guesthouse compared to a hotel. The breakfast is underwhelming, and the bed was uncomfortable. The payment was charged in dirhams, despite the confirmation from Booking.com being in euros. Additionally, no invoice was provided to clarify the payment details, particularly the exchange rate applied.
The staff is exceptionally helpful and always welcoming with a smile. The location is ideal for exploring the medina.

United KingdomAt night the hotel was very loud with music playing until late into the night most nights, some only until 11.00 but some after midnight, making sleeping hard work. The breakfast was omelette every day with breads and fruit. Could have done with some variety. If you were 18 to 30's this Riad would probably have suited you better. Having said that overall we did enjoy staying at the Riad, but it would have been better without the loud nightclub music which due to the layout was not far away and could be heard as if it was in the room.
The hotel was comfortable and was in a perfect position for everything but was not accessible by car due to the width of the street although taxis could drop off 2 minutes walk away so was ok. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable.

United KingdomThis is a nice Riad and the rooms were nice, helpful staff. The one thing you need to be aware of in choosing to stay here is that it has a public restaurant and bar on the roof and they play loud music all afternoon and evening - which is right above the rooms. We had to ask them to turn the music off at 11pm which they did. Not a place for a quite afternoon or evening in your room.

FranceWe understood we had booked a suite but were put into a narrow double room which was disappointing (we were offered a complimentary evening meal as compensation). The loud music from the restaurant echoed throughout the hotel and was quite intrusive. Unfortunately, the hotel had temporarily lost its alcohol licence but with a little persuasion did manage to make cocktails and serve wine. The tiled stairs are steep and uneven and unsuitable for older guests.
The staff were exceptional especially in the restaurant. The local Moroccan cuisine was interesting and tasty. It was my wife's birthday and the entire restaurant crew sang 'Happy Birthday' and produced a cake! A memorable evening indeed!

United KingdomThe noise! There was loud music playing all day long from the afternoon until well past 1am. After a hot day wandering around the city, we just wanted to have a break in the afternoon, cool off and take a siesta, but it was not possible to get any peace. The place was lovely overall, just didn't suit our style for a relaxing holiday
The staff and owners were amazing. The breakfast was great. The location was excellent and the food in the restaurant was superb.

United KingdomI need to balance this so it was New Year, the prices were therefore rip-off (£2000+ for 3 rooms for 4 nights). New Years eve the very very loud music went on till at least 1am and to some extent I was warned about the noise if I would have dug deep into the reviews. Other nights went on from 11 to 12.30 pmManageress was rude and unhelpful, thankfully one of the staff was most helpful and somewhat saved the day. Payment process was broken and painful, ended up trying 6 cards between us and none worked, Amex and Mastercard were supposed to be accepted but weren't and the hotel had no back up other than use a cash machine for £2000+! New Years eve menu was £160pp! bed blanket smelled of cat's pee, hot water variable and none available at times, no trea/coffee in room. Staff were smoking at night 11 and 12 pm in the cleaning room opposite my room. Wifi not great.

United KingdomWe stayed for three days, but on the first day of our arrival, we encountered a very unpleasant situation. All of our belongings were moved to another room without our consent by the staff, who claimed they had mistakenly given us a larger room. They didn’t even wait for us to return from the market, which was incredibly disappointing and shocking. It's hard to understand how someone can handle another person's things without permission. Also there was no mention of a breakfast menu; we were only served tea and a pancake. It wasn't until after we finished that we learned there were other options available, which seemed to be the case for everyone. On one occasion, we had to skip breakfast because our trip was getting late due to the staff's delays. On our departure day, despite making a special request, we were not provided breakfast as promised, which was really disappointing overall.

IrelandWhen I order the room I choose 2 single beds but me and my brother had to share just one double bed. We got only one room key so if we wanted to do something separately we had to better plan. And last thing that last night we cam back to our riad around 2pm and riad main doors was locked so we had to wait outside around 20 mins and bulling a door bell to get in to our room. Everything else was nice.

GermanyOur room for the first night was given to someone else without a warning. This left us stranded at 1 am in the night when we reached the hotel. The most horrendous experience we’ve had, travelling to a city we have never been to before. The most astonishing thing is that the receptionist and the owner had no remorse whatsoever about this. Quite selfish and extractive on their part. Only the night guard was there to greet us upon our arrival and he didn’t speak a word of English. Hence, he couldn’t help us at all. They took it so casually the next day, just saying they’ll refund us the money for that one night and that was also not done as per the actual bill but rather a sum of money convenient to them. We had to eventually argue and fight them to pay the fair price as per our total bill on the platform. Things didn’t quite end here. On every single night, they played loud music until 12 am, not giving a shit about their guests staying in the Riad. The food in their restaurant isn’t even that great - we were given old food, which was cold and hard. Quite a disappointing experience overall. Good rooms aren’t worth all the hassle honestly.
The rooms were comfortable, clean, and nice. The cleaning staff and the night guard were nice and helpful.

United KingdomI would not recommend this riad. While the staff are exceptional and highly dedicated, the owner clearly disregards her paying customers. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant and were mistakenly charged twice. The staff apologized and assured us they would resolve the issue or deduct the amount from our next bill. However, when we requested this correction, the owner refused to listen and shouted at us in another language. Even when we asked the staff to translate, she continued to shout over them and berate them. The situation escalated when the owner refused to return our passports, keeping them locked away. With an early morning flight the next day, we were anxious and desperate to retrieve our documents. Despite our pleas, the owner still refused to hand over the keys or our passports. In the end, the staff had to break the locked drawer to retrieve our legal documents. Shockingly, we later learned that the owner deducted half of the staff member's wages and charged him for the drawer, despite his rightful actions. I have never encountered such rude and corrupt behavior. The staff were incredible, and it pains me to leave a negative review because they do not deserve to be reflected poorly. However, I feel compelled to warn others about the owner's illegal and unsafe practices.
The staff (NOT the owner) were lovely and the rooms were nice

United KingdomThe owner (lady) was absolutely awful. So aggressive to us and the staff working there. I've never met any person in hospitality that bullish to their staff. And the she goes onto taking our passports and locking them away, taking the key ro her home town, charging us double and refusing to make a refund. I had to call the police I felt so unsafe here I didn't know what to do. She was screaming at me in French the majority of my time here And the way she treated her staff was absolutist discusting. It's so sad seeing an organisation being run like that. Never would recommend. Am looking at taking it further as we had to get someone to force entry to the cupboard to get our passports back for our flight. Awful place
