How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery pretty riad! Host are very sweet.
We had trouble finding the riad and we didn’t feel the safest in this area.
Thank you for your comment. Insecurity has just been a feeling, seventeen years that I have been open we have never had any problem with this neighborhood and with the customers I thank you very much for coming to our home.

Verified reviewAs a solo traveller, I can only thank Monsieur Jim, Fatima, and the riad staff for making my time here so comfortable. From the beautiful rooms (air conditioned) to the relaxed vibes downstairs in the communal area, everything was superb and better than I imagined. The staff were super accommodating and even though there was a language barrier, we still made it work. Breakfast and and dinner was very nice also. Would definitely recommend this place for solo travellers and couples alike. Merci!
WiFi could be better.

Verified reviewBreakfast and dinner were excellent. Room was beautiful and cosy.
The stairs are very narrow and steep, so definitely not for people with mobility issues. Staff do not speak English, only French.

Verified reviewVery nice riad, beautifully decorated. Great view from the rooftop.
It was freezing in the room. I asked for an additional blanket, the personnel promissed to bring one. However, when I came back to my room in the evening there was no blanket and not a single person in the house. Completely black walls in the sleeping area are not my cup of tea.
I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by this problem. Thank you for the feedback. the owner

Verified reviewEverything about Riad Tara was wonderful. The Management and staff are friendly and helpful.
The location was a little far from the main road and proximity to taxi.

Verified reviewNice quiet riad - well located - The 3 ladies on staff well attended to all our needs - Good breakfast - Nice private hammam experience. Organized a guide to visit the Medina: well worth it.
Mattress a little hard, but seems to be the norm in Marocco

Verified reviewBeautiful stylish room with fantastic air con system which was badly needed in July :). The courtyard of the riad is perfect for a relaxing time beside the small pool - traditional Moroccan breakfast is also served here every morning! We also booked in for a private hammam and massage, which we both enjoyed greatly. Location is a dream, right in the centre of Fes' medina, and with a breathtaking view from the upstairs balcony!

Verified reviewExtremely friendly and helpful host. Help with everything-getting good guide, taxis, etc. Good evening meal available with local wine if you want it for a good price. Nice little plunge pool to dip into after long day sightseeing. Good views of city from rooftop terrace. Also massage and Hammam available on rooftop. Good plentiful breakfast with fresh fruit and juice. Interesting authentic decor in rooms. Would highly recommend this place. Before you arrive ask the Riad to arrange a taxi so you don't get lost or bothered.
I had a room where bathroom was down flight of steep, open wooden stairs. Next time would choose room with bathroom on same level so didn't need to worry at night. Only small thing.

Verified reviewIt was very beautifully decorated and so tranquil. The dipping pool was so nice at the end of hot days in fez. The staff and Fatiha took such good care of us. We were there during the Eid holiday while my daughter was simultaneously ill with something she ate. She made sure we had food, shared medicine and made sure we had everything we needed even during such a big local holiday. She made arrangements for a tour to Meknes/Volubilis through a great driver/company. The room was comfortable and the AC worked very well. It was very clean.
It was a little far from the popular area so we had to have someone help us get around. It was a little hard to find. Arabic and French were the only languages spoken by staff so it made it hard to always communicate but with Google translate we made due.

The rooms, super well designed and arranged with LL over ancient furniture and decor. The roof terrace, breathtaking views. Verified reviewWe were very lucky to have the riad to ourselves! We enjoyed booking the hammam and massage, our room was on the ground floor with a nice bathroom, we also enjoyed drinks in the shared courtyard area, bit cold for the plunge pool! We liked the location and parked easily a short walk away

Verified reviewFriendly and welcoming; excellent evening meals; a genuine Riad with opportunity for massage and use of hammam. Felt like the real thing. Great rooftop views in the early evening. Many thanks to Fatima and Fetiha. Fetiha organised our day trip to Volubilis, and an excellent guide around the medina.
A minor point - the location maybe. Tricky to find and navigate around…..but don’t let that put you off, it was a real adventure.
