Absolute gem. We only stopped in Tanger for a night on a trip around Morocco but we loved the Maison de Tanger and wish we stayed longer now. May try to come back on our last night too. It’s a beautiful calm oasis in a busy town. Friendly and proactive staff who were able to arrange a lovely driver to meet us at the ferry port and to prepare a tasty, huge and good value vegan meal on request (which is not always easy when travelling as a vegan). Don’t miss happy hour - the cocktails were amazing. The garden is beautifully put together and magical at night. A small group of cats had also found this was the place to escape the hustle and bustle of the medina and we just relaxed and watched them for hours as we sat by the beautiful green pool. I’m sure Tanger is lovely but it would have taken wild horses to pull us out of this beautiful house after a long day of travelling. I couldn’t believe how tasteful, comfortable and well catered the place was for a very reasonable price… one of our cheaper stays on the trip has set the bar extremely high for the rest of the journey.

    Nothing at all.

A charming and Beautifully decorated Riad. Spacious and very clean room, with tea making facilities. Sandra was super informative and “simpatica”. All the staff were very friendly. Loved how near we were to the medina yet it was very tranquil especially in the inner courtyard where the plunge pool and massage made my stay very relaxed. Although I did not have breakfast it looked very inviting, they offered us a typical tea on arrival which was very appreciated after our journey. Although a small property With 7 rooms, it has plenty of outdoor space with a Roof top terrace and lush gardens where you can dine and have a cocktail.

The hosts went above and beyond to make me feel at home — from thoughtful touches in the rooms to helpful local tips that enriched my trip. The places themselves were stunning, full of charm, spotless, and perfectly located to explore the beauty around. What impressed me most was not just the comfort and beauty of the spaces, but the heart and generosity of the people. I left with wonderful memories, new friends, and a strong desire to return. Highly, highly recommend!”

Amazing staff, beautiful place, great location. I love hanging in the garden. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very helpful with dinner recommendations, sightseeing suggestions and fabulous cocktails. The whole place is stunning with great character. I stayed once two years before this and I am.always looking for an excuse to return. Thank you.

    Staff, decor, comfort

The hotel is absolutely what you could wish for in Tangier. The interior is filled with local crafts and furniture from a time gone bye. You feel like you’re an artist/ writer from the 1920s. The furniture is so beautiful. The flowers are freshly cut from the quaint garden at the rear. Rooms are really spacious and sumptuous. But more importantly the staff - Sandra and Zac and all the team are welcoming and can’t do enough for you. A lovely lady makes the best eggs any style in the morning with a smile. This place is the perfect taste of Tangier

A Peaceful and Elegant Escape in Tangier

A very small detail: I had hoped to wear an evening dress and asked if it could be ironed, but unfortunately, this wasn’t possible — I received a polite but negative response from two different staff members. That said, it was a very minor inconvenience in what was otherwise an exceptional experience.

Our arrival in Tangier was smooth and easy. We took the ferry from Tarifa, Spain — a quiet and pleasant 45-minute journey across the sea, costing around €60. A taxi arranged by the hotel was waiting for us at the port, though it took a moment to identify the right driver, as several approached us at the exit. It’s important to be cautious to avoid inflated tourist prices. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately welcomed with tea by the pool in the lush and beautifully maintained garden. We ordered lunch and later enjoyed a deeply relaxing massage — a perfect way to begin our stay. Our suite was spacious and elegant, tastefully decorated with antique furniture and a refined color palette. It featured a private terrace overlooking the city, indoor plants, and a large bathroom with a bathtub — a detail we especially appreciated. In the evening, we had a delicious tagine dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. As we visited in May, during the low season, the atmosphere was calm and intimate. Exploring Tangier was easy and enjoyable without a guide. The city is very welcoming to tourists, making it simple to navigate the market and visit cultural sites freely. Overall, this was a high-quality, peaceful experience — the ideal base for discovering Tangier.

Our breakfast tray was left on our terrace for two days. The room wasn't eaned during our stay. But we didn't mind too much.

The staff were very friendly. Rooms are super quiet. They fed us late at night on arrival. Happy Hour was fun. Very helpful and a great breakfast. The location was superb and easy to find.

Room service could have been better coffee pods weren’t replaced and night clothes draped on a chair. Asked for flowers in the room but they weren’t placed in water. Also some of the fittings e.g. the light fittings in the bathroom were loose cause the light to flicker

Location near the Kasba was good along with the boutique feel. Staff were lovely and friendly.

That I only got to stay here for one night!

Everything! The room was immaculate and had a great view of the equally stunning courtyard, with a small swimming pool and tons of scenic, beautiful greenery. The staff were also incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful to me, especially for my first time in Tangier. Although my flight arrived late at night, the staff provided me with plentiful options for a late night dinner in the nearby area. I also opted to have a hammam during my stay, which was incredibly rejuvenating and relaxing after a long day walking around the town in the sun.

It’s not the easiest to find at first and the area is not as beautiful as the hotel. But put that aside because once inside, it is perfect.

Hotel communication was great at all times. The location was perfect for us and what we wanted to explore. The hotel is like something out of a 1920’s movie - very beautiful.
