Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThis family run Kasbah is a real treat. Service and food were outstanding. Most of the food is home grown/ local. They went the extra mile to make our stay very memorable. Very relaxed and quiet environment with lovely views from both terraces where food is served.

MoroccoThe only two downsides are how accessible the Kasbah is from the city, you can easily use google maps but be wary of the time to get there as the road is very long and can take a while to get there, don't lose hope because the Kasbah is actually there so please don't get scared of being scammed. I would also recommend to have hair driers accessible for when guests take shower.
On our arrival, staff helped us unpacking and also welcomed us with Moroccan Mint tea and some nuts with it. The view from the hotel is beautiful, red mountains surrounding the whole area and they look very calming and relaxing to look at and meditate to, the calmness of the area is not a joke, you can only hear the wind and how birds are shirping and other animals waking up in the morning. As you get inside the Kasbah you are welcomed with the smell of authentic moroccan Roses and as they get dry they give more scent, the first floor has a beautiful sit and read area where you can grab books from the tables and read or play games with friends or loved ones. You are also welcomed with beautiful kittens that are friendly and you can sit with and play with. The host had the kindness to upgade both me and my parents to new rooms that are premium with better view for great hospitality service. The rooms are well equiped with towels cleaning tools and also beautiful balcony with tables and chairs to sit on and admire the beautiful sun during the day and meditate and sit and enjoy the calmness of the area. The hotel owner had Organic garden that they use to prepare authentic Moroccan vegetables soup that we got as a last supper before going to bed. The breakfast was very nice and fully organic with authentic Moroccan breakfast. I would highly recommend to enjoy the calm mountains away from city noises and stress, And for anyone who just wanna experience the raw authentic moroccan decoration and south culture and to be completely Zen. The hotel owner was also kind enough to give us more directions for our next destination to help us take the quickest and safest roads.

United KingdomWe enjoyed everything.
We really enjoyed our stay at Kasbah Chems. The room we had was amazing, which had a balcony that overlooked the mountains. We had a lovely traditional Moroccan meal, with the home made goats cheese salad and a tagine each. Yousef showed us around the gardens and farm animals which was a great experience. We wish we stayed for more than one night.

AustraliaNothing. Everything was wonderful
Our family had a wonderful experience staying at Kasbah Chems. At first the spectacular view caught our attention, but very quickly it was the wonderful hospitality of the staff that made this stay our most memorable of our 3 week trip in Morocco. The food was wonderful too and was plentiful and delicious. The room was very comfortable and clean with a great modern bathroom. Mustapha welcomed us and showed us around the Kasbah including the farm animals and organic gardens. Mustapha also guided us on a hike through a beautiful canyon and taught us about local culture. It felt like we were given an opportunity to see and learn about authentic village life which was very special. We also enjoyed Mustapha’s sense of humour and he was great with our teenage sons. Josef also made our stay very memorable. He engaged with our teenage sons and chatted with them about their interests. When our eldest son talked about the soccer game being played by the young men in a nearby village, Josef kindly walked with us to the next village and introduced our son to the young men. He asked if our son could kick a ball with them during warm up. Not only did our son get to play during the warm up, the young men invited him to play the full game with them. This was a wonderful experience for him and one he and we will always remember. Said, Julie and their team work very hard to give their guests an amazing experience. We loved every moment of our stay at Kasbah Chems.

MoroccoWhat a gem this place is! We arrived late so did not see the spectacular view until the morning. It’s stunning. The staff is so warm and hospitable, the food is some of the best we have had in Morocco, and the location is beautiful. The staff also showed our kids their goats (and other lovely parts of the property where they grow their own food), including a baby goat, which quickly became a highlight of the entire trip. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and only wish we could have had more time there.

GermanyKasbah Chems was a very authentic and romantic place for us to experience and we loved to stay there for a couple of nights. Youssef and Said showed us around their property and we are amazed by how self-sustainable Kasbah Chems is. For example they‘re growing their own vegetables, making their own bread, jam, milk and goat cheese and have chickens for fresh eggs. Lastly we really enjoyed talking to the team and learning about the local culture. Thank you so much for having us :)

We had booked this place based on reviews from previous travellers and were not disappointed! To get there, you drive on sinuous roads with mind blowing views. Once there, you find peace overlooking a mountain range and tiny village. The owners and members attend your needs and make you feel welcome as if it was your own home! If you have time, explore the surroundings with them, you will appreciate their time and knowledge of this gorgeous valley! We even had a miraculous beer appear for dinner 😆

United KingdomThe room was great, clean and the facilities are good. Mustapha welcomed us with tea and you can have a nice dinner inside the kasbah and the food is delicious! In the morning we got a delicious home-made breakfast and Mustapha gave us a really interesting excursion around the farm he has in the backyard. We learned about how vegetables and flowers grow and we took great photos with animals they have at the farm. The place is not like other hotels, it's like family and Mustapha is very welcoming and will make everything for your comfort! Overall a great calm experience with exceptional hospitality and comfort! Mustapha speaks good English and French.

United KingdomWe originally planned to visit the Dades Gorges, but finding this kasbah changed our itinerary, leading us to the Valley of Roses—and what an experience! The road to the kasbah is magical, stunning, and almost surreal in its beauty. The kasbah itself is impeccably maintained. We stayed there in winter, and it was pleasantly warm inside. The family room is spacious and offers an exceptional view of the mountains as it is located on the 1st floor. Hot water, 4 beds, clean sheets, excellent food, music, animals, local products available, and above all, an incredibly welcoming and kind staff, especially with children. A must-do! We also received great advice from Mustapha to continue our trip, including taking a mountain path with our car, which we wouldn't have dared to try otherwise. It was surreal in its beauty.

SpainIt was farther from Dades Valley (about 45 minutes to an hour) than we expected and the drive there is along a single track road, so if you don't have time and your goal is to enjoy a quick stop in the valley, it might be better to stay in Boulmagne Dades. That said, we did enjoy getting off the beaten path and the Valley of Roses is beautiful! Also, keep in mind that due to its remoteness, you won't have other options for eating.
This was a delightful place to stay. The kasbah is cozy and attractive with a lovely view of the valley. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable with heating and hot water in the shower (much appreciated in winter!). Breakfast was good and ample, served in an enclosed terrace with a mountain view. We also had dinner both nights which was tasty after a few bland meals at other places--I enjoyed the veggie tagine. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you are happy, constantly checking in on you and offering their services. If you want to book any excursions, the staff will cater to your wishes and make it happen. We definitely wanted to do some hiking in Dades Valley, but weren't sure where to go on our own. So, while we usually prefer to avoid guided tours, we opted to book a guide last minute. We were provided with transport from the kasbah (about an hour), arriving first at the famous switchback road viewpoint in the Dades Valley, where we stopped for photos and coffee. Then our guide Mustapha took us down into the valley to hike along the Monkey Fingers for a couple of hours. We will readily admit that we would never have been able to have done this walk on our own and found it worthwhile to clamber through the rocks with Mustapha. We had a picnic lunch with an amazing view of the valley and then returned to the kasbah. About 6 hours in total. On a final note, we were there for new year's eve and enjoyed a concert by local Berbers playing traditional music.
