At first the pool seemed nice and staff were friendly and helpful.

After the first day kids came down with a sickness bug. Seems it had been going around before we arrived. Several families were ill. We ended up quarantining in our room for 4 days. By 4th day we headed back to Marrakesh and ended our stay early. Ground floor apartment is like an echo chamber. Terrace above our bedroom is so loud, the scrape of metal chairs on tiled floors was incredibly loud. Facilities are very basic. Not the most comfortable space when your stuck in the room for 4 days. WiFi was slow and patchy so hard to entertain poorly children.

Staff are very friendly and the heated pool is great.

Cleanliness wasn’t great. We had a cockroach in our room, and we couldn’t use the balcony as the peacocks nested on the roof so it was constantly covered in poo. The bathroom smelt even after the cleaners came, guessing it was a drainage issue. Lastly, and probably most importantly, the hotel had a viral stomach flu infection, possibly norovirus or similar. Our whole party got ill, as did many other guests. These things happen but they didn’t have any measures to try and reduce the spread and literally so many people were ill, the doctors had to come and even an ambulance at some point!

Well kept resort. Staff were excellent. Pool area lovely.

Although I was aware of the distance to Essaouira and the free shuttle bus there is absolutely nothing nearby. Food options are limited and the nearest Carrefour is in Essaouira so difficult to bring much shopping back and didn't want to wander round with shopping but had to time it for the bus back. Drop off near Carrefour enroute to town centre was helpful though. More variety other than buffet would have been nice for evening meal. Bigger selection of bar snack menu would have been nice. Breakfast was excellent.

Arriving from Marrakesh, Essaouira Lodge was an oasis of calm and elegance. Staff were extremely helpful and professional and the shuttle service provided by the hotel to and fro to Essaouira centre was reliable and great asset to the holiday. An added bonus was being dropped off outside the Carrefour to do a shop and picked up just outside. The heated swimming pool was clean and sheltered, with towels provided. Meals could be taken outdoors on the patio by the pool or inside the restaurant. We ate well there, plenty of options, and serving staff will cook your breakfast eggs upon request. No pressure to dine in, menu changed daily. Our large 3 bed apartment was clean and spacious, with quality bed linen, comfortable beds, good air con, an excellent shower and an outside dining area. Our teenaged boys really enjoyed their stay, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Nothing

Beautiful lodge. Lovely pool and gardens. Quiet location, very peaceful. House beautifully and tastefully decorated. Loved the peacocks and cats. The free bus to Essouira is very useful.

The food is average. It could be much better and offer more choice. Our preference would to have stayed at the lodge for our entire time, but we had to venture out for better quality and more variety of food.

Continually interrupted by staff knocking on the door in the morning. Everyone got food poisoning from the restaurant.

We stayed here for 5 nights with our three children. We chose it as it had a heated pool which was very relaxing. It is in the middle of nowhere and nothing close by but there was a regular shuttle service to get into Essaouira, which was around 20mins away. Comfortable accommodation, lovely space and good food.

Essaouira Lodge is a perfect place to relax and reset. It has a calm ambience, is beautifully and thoughtfully landscaped, and has great facilities. We stayed in the 2-bedroom house, which was wonderful, with a well equipped living space and kitchen, comfortable beds, and everything we needed. The staff were kind and helpful, and readily available to help. We loved seeing the birds around the pool, the peacocks, and tortoises. The pool is beautiful and clean, perfect for relaxing. The hammam was also great, as was the massage. Although it is far out of town, there are regular scheduled shuttles in and out of Essaouira, which takes around 15mins. The onsite restaurant is good as well, although we preferred to try different places in the town.

It would help if the restaurant had a daytime snack menu - the kitchen prepared us some food when we just wanted a snack, but a clear menu would have been better. The shuttle service could be more flexible, particularly in the evening.

The staff were attentive, friendly and generally knowledgeable. The frequent shuttle was a bonus.

The bathroom wasted a lot of water and the washbasin had no plug.

Self contained second floor apartment and balcony is comfortable, if a bit tired and needing some attention. The central club house, the pool and the gardens are very pleasant. A resident peacock family and the many wild birds enhance the environment.

The approach road is long and rough...possibly impassable in heavy rain. E.L. is about 30min from Essaouira, making it more a resort for those wishing to stay put. Fine with children. Main pool heating was inop, and substitutes at the villas less than ideal. We only ate one main meal in the resort...not especially memorable and poor value for Morocco. The kitchenette was poorly equipped and made any self catering self defeating.

Perfect, clean and peaceful hotel with lots of green plants, cats, dogs and peacocs. The staff was so nice and helpful and food just great!

Maybe if I was there with small children I would have found the gravel on the pavement a hard surface to ride with trolleys. That’s it :)

Difficulty in finding the property from N8 west. Sign only visible driving east! Main pool not available. Heavy rain caused balcony to flood and rain under entrance door that was difficult to open. Dinner very poorest
