Dar Wadada is run by Rachid. He built this beautiful place on the hills overlioking Chefchaouen. His place is great. It’s beautiful decorated, with lovely terraces. The rooms are comfortable with a nice little bathroom and a perfect shower. And then there is Rachid. A great host and more than that. Very welcoming and warm, served us a perfectly cooked tajine when we arrived late. Quick with a smile and a gentle guy! Want to escape the hustle and bustle from Chefchaouen’s lovely medina? Dar Wadada is most certainly the place to be!

Fantastic location outside of Chefchaouene with stunning views. We loved the walk down into the town through olive trees and countryside. Rashid is a phenomenal host. The food was excellent, both lunch and dinner.

It would have been nice to have fruit at breakfast, but that is so minor as the rest was delicious!

We had an absolutely exceptional stay at Dar Wadada, a place full of soul and character perched high above the blue city of Chefchaouen. Far from mass tourism and noise, we found here a home — not a hotel — where you’re welcomed as friends, not guests. Rachid, the owner, is a true one-man show. Warm, attentive, charismatic, always there without ever being intrusive. His presence is felt through every detail, and his team is just as amazing — professional, kind, yet almost invisible. The setting is pure magic: lush greenery, fruit trees, goats, cows, birds, a friendly dog, a curious cat… and a peaceful mountain silence that grounds you instantly. In April, nature is in full bloom — it’s breathtaking. And above all, there’s no need to overthink anything here. Just come as you are, stay simple, and go with the flow. That’s the spirit of Dar Wadada. Thank you Rachid for this unforgettable moment with my wife. We left recharged, lighter, and already dreaming of coming back. If you’re looking for a place rooted in authenticity, connection, and calm — this is it.

We loved our stay at Dar Wadada! You can pass hours just sitting at the tables outside and looking at the beautiful view changing colors in accordance to the time of the day! We met very interesting people, who shared the same love for the beauty of nature, travelling and quietness. The real gem is nevertheless the host Rachid with his generosity and his benevolence towards humanity and his desire to create a space of internal freedom and safety for his community as well as for all the guests of the Dar. Thank you Rachid, the world needs people like you:)

It can be cold at night but the rooms are equipped with Ac units which can also be used for heating. The beds are provided with several blankets. Everything is super:-)

A relaxing location with a wonderful host. Although Dar Wadada is a bit out of town don’t be discouraged because the location is worth it. There is dinner nearby if requested in advance and an enjoyable breakfast. We paid too much for a taxi from the CMT, not the owners fault.

    Nothing really.

Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely delightful! Rachid, the host, is incredibly warm and attentive, always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His team is equally friendly and thoughtful, ensuring every detail is taken care of. The view over the city from the property is simply breathtaking – a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. Overall, a fantastic experience with exceptional hospitality and a very yummy breakfast :)

Not a dislike, but a word of caution: In winter, it can get quite chilly up on the mountain, so pack accordingly. Additionally, the drive to the accommodation is a bit adventurous, but it adds to the charm and sense of escape.

This place is an hidden gem nestled upon an hill side and the view of the mountains and the blue city of Chefchauen is absolutely enchanting. The perfect place if you find peace, serenity and good vibes. Rachid, the owner, is the added value. He is a really beautiful person and an amazing host. He pampered his guests and make you feel to be at friend’s home. Upon request you can have a dinner. The food is organic, tasteful and cooked with love. Thank you Rachid. You are a very special person and it was a gift for me to meeting you. I would have stayed longer. Warmly suggest to stay in this magic place.

It is such a great place I decided to stay longer. Rachid has created an oasis of peace and makes you feel like at home. The room was super clean and bed so comfortable. The food is fresh and yummy. The views of the town are picture perfect both in daylight and at night. And the silence is blissful. I also grew finder of the walk down to the town. And Rachid is so helpful that he arranges a pick up if you are too tired to walk back up. It was so good I did not want to leave! Thank you so much to Rachid, the gorgeous housekeeper and his beautiful dog Afro for Caron for me during my stay!

Thank you for your genuine and kind hospitality Rachid! You've been a wonderful host. We enjoyed the peaceful environment offered uphill (small farmlands) and the views of the blue city. Dar Wadada is ideal if you want to stay away from the crowds and the hustle-and-bustle of Chefchaouen. It is also a great starting point for an early trail down to the Spanish mosque (Bouzafer), to enjoy dawn lights. Takes about 20min. And another 15min to go from the mosque to the Medina. We also enjoyed the possibility to dine at locals/Cafe Panorama Loubar, located 3min walk up. Very simple but tasty tajines with superb views.

The only thing we would improve a bit is the entrance walking path leading from the main road down to Dar Wadada.
