How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Parking is available in a street, you have to pay for it, which is ok, but the staff didn't tell us in advance. Furthermore we struggled a lot to undestand where the parking was, we were a group of 7 with a van, so parking is important and can be non obvious. The staff lady sent us pictures and the position on whatsapp, but position was hard to understand since the street where we were supposed to park was very narrow. We could have appreciated a better assistance for that

The check-in was a bit distressing because the house is on a narrow street that Google maps doesn't recognise. Also, it was a neighbour who delivered us the keys and asked for a tip.
The room was spacious and we had a tasty and fulfilling breakfast at the rooftop with a beautiful view of the city and the mountains.

Although there was no smoking signs in the room and us as non-smokers, it had a smell of old cigarettes. I had to spray perfume to lift the odor in order for s to rest comfortably.
the location was great! Easy to access and the customer service was amazing. Great for a one night stay to rest before continuing our trek. The décor was to on point with the destination, I loved it!

There was a little bit of noise from the streets outside but that was mainly on the Saturday night. It wasn’t enough to not book again.
Dar Rafik was in an easy to find, great location. Just outside the Medina made it really convenient to go exploring. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was quite hard which I really like but might not be for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful and our breakfast on the terrace was delicious with a slight change each morning. This is definitely not a complaint but the breakfast was almost too generous. Would stay there again.

I stayed at Dar Rafik for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The place was incredibly cozy, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness was clear throughout the stay. The breakfast each morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.

Slightly hard mattress but we found most of the beds in Morocco harder than what we were used to but what a first world problem that is ❤️

Our stay at this Dar was amazing, it is located in a nice neighborhood which is near from anywhere in the city, the breakfast was yummy. Also it is quiet and clean.

AC is working, just a bit noisy and takes long to warm the room, TV did not work. Otherwise all good
Location is great, Amazing staff, Breakfast was very nice. You can park on the vicinity… basically all what you need to visit the city.

Found some hair in the bathroom but besides that, very clean.
Big room with extra "living room" and complimentary water. Good location in Chefchaoen, everything accessible by foot. Even though communication wasn't that easy (one woman could only speak arabic, but later during check-in we could communicate in english), everyone was super friendly. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was amazing.

The hotel is located next to 4 chimneys and whole day till late night there was a lot of smoke and was not possible to open the window. This is very unfortunate for such a nice hotel like this one. :-/

Prefer softer bed but that is not a criticism

The bed is not that comfortable.
The location and the price is the primary value of this hotel. The room is quite spacious. The breakfast awesome.

Not really Dar Rafiks fault, but parking was 4 instead of 2 euros. In itself not too bad but you start your stay with the feeling of beeing scammed.
The location and the breakfast are good and the staff is nice. When one of us couldn't eat wheat anymore due to a slight gluten intolerance they adjusted the breakfast.

The riad is just a tall building, with no common areas with the exception of the terrace on top. The cleaning service could be improved - we found some hairs in the bed.
The breakfast is amazing - super complete and diverse. The room is well decorated.

Only comment would be that bed mattress was a bit firm.
Very nice location, reachable by car and right at the entrance of the Medina. Excellent breakfast. Kind staff. Nice traditional and spacious clean rooms. Rooftop with a nice view to enjoy the delicious breakfast.

The bathroom was small. My windows faced the house where roosters lived so they could be loud in early mornings (it worked well with the earplugs though). It would be nice to have an ironing desk.
A very tasty breakfast on the terrace. The interior in a traditional Moroccan style looked magical during the day and night. A very good location.

It was really poorly isolated, so we could hear everything from the street and within the hotel.
