How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Unfortunately the room was really smelly, we asked to change the bet blankets but also the 'new' ones were not washed and smelly. The toilet seat was broken and the shower wasn't working good. It's a pity, with a small renovation and more attention to the cleaning it would be a nice place where to stay.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect, close to ATM, really good places to eat, shops, souks, and not far to walk to the old medina or Royal Palace. The internal decor and design of the riad is beautiful, the staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us, and the price was great! Breakfast was good - they even provided some gluten free biscuits for me which was really kind of them. The roof top is a great place to sit and drink tea and enjoy the views.

The whole place had a sewage smell. In the middle of the night a man was looking through our hallways door which had a window on it. Pretty positive it was the owner who intentionally followed us during the night and showed me videos watching me eat breakfast at the riad. They continued to cancel my whole stay and denied having to do with the issue.

You and your friend stayed at our riad from January 3rd to 5th. On the evening of January 4th, you returned to the riad around 2 a.m., visibly intoxicated and accompanied by two foreign men. In accordance with our internal policy, which aims to ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests, our staff member did not allow these men to enter your rooms. Later, after you went up to your room, you caused significant noise disturbances, which disrupted the calm of the establishment. When our staff member intervened to ask you to lower the volume so as not to disturb other guests, he was surprised to find that you had packed your luggage and decided to leave, stating that your male companions were waiting for you at the exit. We understand that this decision, motivated by our commitment to enforcing the rules of our establishment, is the main reason for your complaint on Booking. However, we would like to emphasize that this policy is strictly applied to all our guests and that our riad has never received similar complaints, as evidenced by the many positive reviews and our excellent rating on Booking. Verified review"We felt right at home at Riad Dar Rabha. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and the peaceful terrace was perfect for enjoying the sunset. The breakfast was delicious and generous. Mohammed and his team were always at hand to help, making our stay truly special. The riad is in a fantastic location, near the medina entrance and the Blue Door. We’ll definitely be back!

Upper floors have poor water pressure and temperature control. Shower was low pressure and went between moderate temperature and boiling. Sound proofing was very poor on the room, you hear everything that goes on around the room.

Verified reviewThis riad is truly fantastic. It’s located right in the heart of the old city - the medina. Our host, Said, was exceptional. He offered us an upgraded room within the riad. Since we were leaving early both days, well before breakfast time, he got up with us both times to prepare a takeaway breakfast. He also arranged our airport transfers seamlessly. I can wholeheartedly recommend Said and the rest of the staff at this riad. Additionally, the rooms are beautiful and well-kept. Unlike some other riads, this one has a bathroom with proper, non-transparent doors, adding to the comfort. The location is superb, with everything within close reach.
Everything was great! Just note that payment is made in person at the riad, not online. Be sure to have cash on hand.
