How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was great given the price I called early morning around 9-10 am from Fes CTM station, they answered promptly, and accepted my request for an early check in. Upon arrival at the taxi stop I was greeted by the hosts son who carried my luggage to the riad Check In was accompanied by some Moroccan tea and light snack, nice touch Host and family are multi lingual, I spoke french and English and a few basic Arabic phrases. They are knowledgeable and accompanied me once to look for Cash plus office. I was offered the choice of different rooms for the same price, but I chose the ground floor for ease due to my health and mobility issues. A basic breakfast was included, tea, honey, Moroccan bread, cheese, very handy and excellent value for money Hosts do offer meals at additional cost, but I preferred to eat outside, other guests seemed to enjoy that. Overall can't complain, would definitely stay again. I ended up staying 3 nights.
Nothing really, for that price it's hard to find fault. If I were to nit pick it would be ... The shared bathrooms are quite tiny and lack adequate hanging fittings so it can be a little tricky, but it's doable.

Verified reviewThe place is big, and you have high ceilings, a terrace and lots of privacy. Friendly staff who let me be alone for the most part. They even encouraged me to take an excursion to Chefchaouen on my last day when I forgot that I wanted to. Location is in the beautiful old medina, I recommend the restaurant just outside and also Zohra around the corner.
I noticed many cockroaches in my room and other areas. The staff were friendly, but when I specifically told them No to breakfast and dinner in the hotel due to hygiene concerns (their previous offerings were unpleasant, including the tea), the lady of the house would come to my door often with a tray full of food. I had to scream NO once because she did not listen to my request to not serve food. It comes from friendliness I know, but I felt harassed after a few days. The family owners also live here and sometimes they are screaming or making noise. Wifi is weak. The gate to the hotel has to be opened from the inside so you end up waking the staff up if you’re out late at night, with a heavy knock. Other than that I felt welcome and had my own space, and for a few days I would recommend this place for a budget traveller.

Verified reviewI had an ensuite room on the ground floor so it was relatively cooler. The owner’s son walked me to the hotel the day I arrived and the owner walked me to get a petit taxi the morning I left.
The description of the room says air-conditioned which is inaccurate. The owner arranged a fan to be brought in. There were cockroaches in my room.

Verified reviewExceptionally kind owners - I felt very well treated; calm environment to relax after a day in the medina, striking, traditional architecture within the house, very cool terrace - one of my favourite sojourns overall. Many thanks!
The bathroom/shower area next to the room was unusually tiny, but nothing to complain of otherwise.

Bathroom needs a good clean. Wifi worked in house but not in my room. Its at the other end of the medina from blue gate & I got lost many times.

Verified review- location: close to tanneries - the owner is very hospitable: instead of asking my passport he offered me a welcome cup of marrocan tea, which was very great after an exhausting search of the hostel - the antique house, this is an historical monument with authentic atmosphere. The doors and ceilings are very high! - toilet+shower is close to the room
- very hard to find the hostel, no signs outside. Impossible to find the entrance without asking people - tiny toilet combined with shower, no hangers or shelves in the toilet, there is no place to hang or put your clothes - no towels - wifi is not stable inside the room - the breakfast is poor (bread, butter, jam and tea)

Verified reviewSo the biggest positive is that the host family is nice and helpful. I felt welcomed a lot when I stayed there.
To be fair, I probably got the smallest room, as I stayed alone. The room I got was just beside the toilet and I can hear the noises in the toilet. And the toilet is quite small too. But if you travel with friends and stay in one of the multi-people rooms I think it will be more comfortable. But for the price I paid and the helpfulness of the hosts I think its an OK place to stay.

Verified reviewI really liked this place, I felt very welcomed and I was treated like a family member ! Mama Khadijah was very kind and nice with me! The riad feels very magical and mesmerizing! Like straight from 1001 nights stories, very magical and beautiful! I really liked my room with beautiful yellow sofas! And the delicious mint tea they made me! Thank you you made my trip to morroco very special
It was a bit hard finding the location, there were no signs. I had to ask people around, but it’s partially my fault, because they wrote to me a message asking if they should meet me personally at the Madina gate! But over all everything is great
thanks for everything and have you good luck and good travel
