Welcomed in the true Moroccon way. What a great place to stay in Fes, and experience the heart of the market.

This is a beautifully decorated hotel in a great location in the heart of the medina. The tiled central room is beautiful and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast was good too.

It was quite chilly at night in Feb - but that won't be an issue most of the year. And they gave me plenty of blankets. It was hard to find and they didn't give my any directions. Here's how to find it: Go to the Ain zleten parking area and walk to the main street Talaa Kabira. Go left (downhill, east) and walk about 120m. You'll come to a triangular arch over the road, Fondouk Tazi. Walk on another 15m or so and you'll see an opening on the left (north) side next to a barbers shop. The owners son works at the barbers shop and the souvenir stall next to it so you can ask there. Or go into the passage which is narrow and painted blue. It turns right then left. At the end you'll see a door marked 29. It's not the door but the one on the right. The what3words for the opening of the passageway is puddles.teams.arranged (at least on my device, GPS can be sketchy).

Riad very well located, in the heart of the Medina (a little difficult to find at first but that's normal the first time) thanks to Ayou and his mother for the welcome 😄

The location is great, on a busy souk road but very easy to get to the medina gate. The accommodation has everything what is needed and it´s very quiet. The owner is very nice person and makes unique painted drums so you should definitelly get one!

The location was very good. The owner made a very nice breakfast in the morning. The owners are very friendly.

The toilet and the shower was very old and dirty. There were a lot of cockroaches and I would recommened better cleaning. Its actually more a hostel.

The beds was comfortable and the room was nice. The poor family that was living in the building was kind and helpful. When i arrived to the place i got tea and cookies as a hospitality wellcome which i really appriciated!

First of all, the adress on booking is totally wrong. That adress is going to a guy that will stand close to the door and tell you that you are lost. Then he will help you to the right adress. And then the guy that works at dar najia will force you to give money to the guy that "helped" you finding the correct adres. Its a pure tourist-trap. Its also very unclear about who is working there and who just wants to take your money. Then i was told that all rooms was already booked and therefore needed to go out to their "other" building. In that place a family lived with their children. Iam not sure that the family was aware of my housestaying. I got a bad feeling. The shower didnt work there either. Not sure why booking.com is working with this place.

Najia is a jewel, just like her little place. The cozy meeting area is beautifully decorated with tiles all along the walls. Breakfast was adequate, biscuits and french bread and cake with butter, jam, and olives, served with hot mint tea. Her son Ayoub is very helpful and willing to give advice, without being pushy. The dar is right in the middle of the medina relatively close to the main sites. There are only two rooms for rent on the bottom floor, so there it was quiet during my stay, which is what I was needing and wanting. Don't hesitate to book a room here if you are on a budget and looking for authentic Moroccan hospitality. It's excellent value . . .

The only down side is that you'll never find it on your own. You'll have to ask people in the medina to help you find it, and likely they too won't know where it is. Make sure to call or contact when you get to the medina and Najia or one of her sons will meet you on the main souk. The dar itself is down an extremely narrow, hidden alleyway. The good thing about this is that it is very quiet away from all the hubbub of the souks themselves...

Friendly staff, great location, nice food.

We were lucky that we visited in low season and that there were not many people. There is one toilet on the ground floor (where the guestrooms are) and one toilet/shower upstairs, where the host lives. I immagine that could be difficult when the house is full but was no issue for us. The price is cheap and good value for the location and the room.
