Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyRachid was super kind and helpful, when we arrived he prepared some mint tea and during our whole stay he was really caring and attentive. The riad is really nice, just a little bit difficult to find because it is inside the Medina, but I highly suggest it

United StatesEverything was great.
Location was excellent. Rachid and Fatima go beyond their duties to take care of the guests. Rachid was very helpful with not only with the stay but also helped us on many occasions with shopping, taxi bookings, and any questions we asked him. He is a kind and caring person and adds so much value to the whole experience, I would recommend and stay if I ever visit Fes again.

NetherlandsBeautifully decorated riad at a convenient location in the Medina of Fes. We stayed in the larger room. We enjoyed the breakfast on the very nice roofterras, which has a great view over Fes and offers seats both in sun or shade. The staff was very kind and helpful. All in all a very nice place to stay when visiting Fes.

United StatesI liked everything about it.
Beautiful, well-maintained riad close to Bab Guisa which made it easy for car drop off/pick up. I was the only guest when I stayed there, so the owner called to check on me, which I appreciated. Rachid took really good care of me. He met me at the medina gate, brought me mint tea and a space heater to keep warm and gave me a tour of the property. Go up to the roof for an amazing view! My stay here & the hospitality I received made me want to return to Fes.

MaltaEvery thing was perfect.
The Riad is beautiful and located in a quiet Alley just a few minutes' walk from all the medina attractions. The room was very clean and comfortable and comes with an AC . From the roof terrace, you can watch sunrise and sunset over looking the whole medina .We loved having our delicious breakfast in the terrace whilst enjoying the beautiful views and sounds of the singing birds. Rashid is the best host you can ask for , he is honest and trustworthy, ready to assist you in any way he can and always there to help you . I definitely recommend this riad and can not wait to be back very soon . Thank you, Rashid and Fatima

I greatly enjoyed my stay at Riad Dar La Bague Kenza. The riad is in the heart of the old medina just a walk of couple of minutes from Al Qarawiyin or Zawiya Tijania. The room and the whole riad are beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and the room had air conditioning. A highlight was enjoying the delicious local breakfast with a nice view of the medina on the roof terrace. Also, Rachid the gentleman who runs the riad and Fatima the lady preparing the food, were very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Rachid is an honest and trustworthy person, always available, and he will help you with anything you need. He is originally from the old medina and knows everything about Fes. I truly enjoyed our conversations with him and his friends. He organized my transfer from the airport to the riad and from the riad to my next destination, and even accompanied me to the Grand Taxi station. All in all, I can greatly recommend this riad and cannot wait to visit it again. Cher Rachid, choukran bezaf pour tout et à très bientôt InchaAllah.

United StatesDe Kenza is the best booking we have made on our entire trip. The manager, Rashid, met us at the entrance to the Medina, so we wouldn’t get lost and we entered a beautiful, Moroccan style home. We were welcomed like family and every need we had was met. Rashid set up a tour, cooked, answered any questions and was very friendly. The food by Hadija and Fatima and Rashid were excellent. It is quiet, clean and stunning. The owner came to visit us because we all have Mexican connections and that visit was perfect. We would highly recommend Bague de Kenza, if you are visiting Fez. It was an experience we will remember always.

United StatesOwner tried to scam me on the already agreed upon price. €10 for a shuttle that was said to be €5, hidden €5 fee for breakfast that was only bread, then an extra €20 that he tacked on to his price simply because he thought I would pay it. Not to mention the sink that did not drain and the itchy bed sheets. Worst Riad experience I had in Morocco. I would have overlooked the faults of the room and not left this review if the owner had not tried to overcharge by over €25 in the end.

United KingdomWe never met Driss , the super friendly, helpful owner other reviewers had said made their stay so special. We understand he no longer lives at the property which is a shame for guests. We were the only guests, which we think might be quite usual and the guesthouse is only minimally staffed – after breakfast we often saw no one until a quick visit late in the evening . Staff, speaking little or no English consisted of a man plus the happy, smiling Lubna we usually saw at breakfast time . Mostly we felt we were just alone in the whole guest house. As a single traveller, which was my original intention, I would have felt very lonely. We asked for help choosing a restaurant which never happened as no one was ever there at an appropriate time to show us as promised, and there were other things for which we would have liked help and advice . I do need to say that this visit was during Ramadan and perhaps staffing would be different at other times . Our shower area was quite rustic, a circle of old tiles, which quickly filled and flooded the floor on each use, though it dried fairly quickly. On the one hot night during our stay, we could not make the air-conditioning work. Further, and it could have been quite a problem, trying to confirm by text with the owner about payment due to communication difficulties with the hotel man, we discovered the night before we left that their card machine was not working and got the impression this was not something that had just happened. Payment was expected in Euros . We explained to Driss this was awkward for us and the best we could do between us was cover the cash in a mix of euros and sterling. On coming to pay the hotel man on leaving, we were surprised to find he had heard nothing from Driss about our conversation and he was quite bemused at the sight of UK pounds . If forewarned we could have brought euro cash with us. We stayed here for five days.
There are many good things about this guest house. It has been beautifully and lovingly restored. The roof terrace catches a slight breeze and is a lovely place to sit. The water pressure is good, the water is hot and the bed was comfortable . The location in the heart of the old this part of the Medina (walled city ) was a mixed blessing. it was hugely atmospheric, but personally I struggled to ever find my way back home
