Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe had a great stay at Dar Fama! The staff is very friendly and helpful (they'll pick you up at one of the old city gates, and they're available 24 hours), the riad is beautiful and super clean, and the view from the terrace at breakfast is awesome. Our room was spacious, with a loft-style bed above the living area (but not directly overhead...the ceilings are quite high). The breakfast was good with several local products. The area in the medina was also fantastic, but thank goodness for Google Maps! 😀 The location is easy walking distance to everywhere in the medina and Ensanche (the new town).

United StatesInside the riad it is beautiful and quiet. Outside is very busy as you are right in the medina. It is a crowded walk to get outside. Just something to know!
The staff at Dar Fama went above and beyond to assist us. They were amazing!

It's a very nice riad. The rooms are spacious. The staff is amazing! Saad, Wiam and Abdsmaie are very kind and helpful. Wiam welcomed me very well and was attentive to everything I needed. Saad was always willing to help me and was a great advisor for my stay in Tetouan.

ChileWe had contacted the hotel to book an airport pickup, and they confirmed they would pick us up, but no one showed up. We called the numbers they gave us about 20 times, but there was no answer, and when we arrived at the hotel on our own, no one knew about it. Everything else was excellent.
Very comfortable, pretty and authentic. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was also very good, varied and delicious.

United StatesThe location was so nice because I felt like I was a long time resident of the old Medina. The layout of this Riad style hostel was so visually stimulating, I felt I was living in the past! The hosts that I dealt with, Mohammed and Tarik, were incredibly kind and hospitable. They made my stay here extra extra nice and comfortable :). The breakfast was so tasty and very filling, coupled with an incredible view of Tetouan. The local residents all know Dar Fama and will help you get there and are all incredibly nice people!!! I felt very welcomed, and would definitely comeback for my next visit to Tetouan!

United StatesThe shower was a little challenging, and due to the fact that it's an old (but beautiful) building, you needed to be mindful of your noise levels while inside your room. However, it was very quiet and we really enjoyed our time.
The staff was amazing, super helpful, gave good recommendations, and taught us some useful, local phrases. We loved breakfast on the rooftop!

Belgium- sink was clogged - shower door does not close properly - house is in the medina, so can be reached by foot only, through the market - breakfast could be better, no eggs offered, just some pastries and cheese with butter. I appreciated orange juice though. - electricity went off at night after we used one socket, but staff fixed the issue fast
- well maintained dar house - if you call staff in advance, they will meet you at the Bab Okla gate and lead you to the closed parking place (20 dirham for 24hrs) - the house is in Medina, so walking distance to everything - staff is always there and helpful

NetherlandsI stayed for 10 days in this riad, and it was an amazing experience. The staff truly felt like family. They are so helpful and friendly. I stayed there alone and was sick for a few days. While I was bedridden, they really took great care of me. I would return just for the staff alone. The riad itself was also BEAUTIFUL! Right in the middle of the medina, which made the experience even more special. All in all, this is the best place to stay if you're visiting Tetouan. They will definitely see me again. Special shout-out to Aymen and Hana❤️

United KingdomA beautiful traditional riad in the heart of the medina, comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast on the roof terrace in the morning. If you want a taste for how things used to be in Tetouan then this is the place for you. Explore the tiny streets taking in the sights and sounds and relax in the evening in the market square over a glass of sweet mint tea. For those who are road tripping there is a secure guarded car park just up the road with very reasonable prices.

United KingdomNot that I didn't like this - but just be aware! - The riad is on a smaller street deep inside the medina market with just a small sign and a door you have to knock. It can be somewhat confounding to get there! I recommend following the staff's advice and phoning them from Bab Al Okla gate when you first arrive so they can come and collect you and lead you to the accommodation. We were lucky enough to find it when we first arrived with our bags on our own, but the medina is a complex maze (!!!) and Google maps/GPS/phone signal is often inaccurate or not available - there were several occasions when we could not find our way back despite being there previously! Also, it can be a little noisy from people passing by but this did not spoil it for us.
We had a fantastic stay here. It's an amazing unique building with friendly, helpful staff who went out of there way to help in a truly fascinating city. Really, we have never been anywhere like it before! It's very clean and comfortable; situated in heart of the Medina. Very atmospheric!
