How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat value for money. Excellent location just a few steps away from the blue gate and inside the Medina though the riad is pretty quiet. Spacious room and comfortable double bed as well. Great breakfast too that can be enjoyed in the terrace. I would definitely stay here again if I had to return to Fes, no doubt.

Verified reviewGreat location, short walk to Bab Boujloud (Blue gate). Staffs were friendly. We were able to drop off bags early and leave the bags after we check-out. Breakfast was good with tea and coffee option.

Verified reviewAyoub, what a kind and beautiful person. He welcomed us in his family old house and the biggest smile! Always ready to help, happy to share about his city and things to do in the area. He also recommended a restaurant owned by one of his friends. We had an amazing time there! The riad is beautifully authentic and calm, the location is absolutely perfect as it's right in one of the two main streets of the old medina of Fes. The breakfast was delicious and the little terrace very enjoyable. Overall, very good for the price!
Our room and bathroom were pretty small and difficult to walk around for tall people. We were lacking a little bit of intimacy as it's located right on the living area on the ground floor. It also became very damp everytime we used the bathroom. Perhaps you could find a solution for the ground floor bedrooms for in the future ;)

Verified reviewBy far the most beautiful accommodation we had in Morocco. Everything in this Dar looks absolutely amazing, it has a lot of style and it is very well maintained. Location is top, and so is their rooftop terrace, the breakfast and to not forget the hospitality of Ayub. Amazing, thank you for everything.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at this dar! The place was clean, comfortable, and full of charm, right in the heart of the Medina of Fes. What made the experience truly special was the amazing staff. Ayoub was incredibly helpful and kind — he went out of his way to assist us, especially with organizing a trip around the Medina. His knowledge and willingness to help made our visit smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for an authentic and welcoming experience in Fes. imad

Verified reviewThe place was genuine .I really liked the property—it’s located inside the Medina souk, which gave us a great local experience. The staff were very kind and always helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was nice, and the decoration and arrangements were beautiful and very attractive.
The smell inside the property was quite unpleasant—we could clearly smell the toilet from both the hall and the room. There’s no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which makes it worse. After showering, the water doesn’t fully drain, making it difficult to use the bathroom and contributing to the bad odor. This issue isn’t due to cleaning, but rather a need for better ventilation and some upgrades in the bathroom. Also, the Wi-Fi is very slow and it was difficult to browse from inside the room. I would recommend the owners take these points seriously and consider making some renovations to improve the comfort for future guests.

Verified reviewThe hotel was comfortable and relaxing, including a roof terrace. Set in the Medina, but close to the Blue Gate, so easy to navigate. Plenty of restaurants and shops right outside the door, but set back so it was lovely and quiet. Internet was good. Staff member, Ayoub, was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included.
The roof terrace could be made a bit more comfortable and inviting. We booked this hotel because they list 'vegan breakfasts'. But we had to explain what vegan was. However, Ayoub made us a lovely breakfast once explained. We had various Moroccan breads, jam, fruit and coffee.

Verified reviewThe owner is so down yo earth. He has his small map of fes in living room where he explained the famous spots. We had an excursion to Chefchaouen next morning so he packed our breakfast and gave us for our journey. We missed our train so he allowed us to keep our luggage at his place and said we can stay until we want to without demanding any extra money. He is the most generous person I met in Morocco . He also promised to give an extra 10% discount on our next visit 😅
Washroom can be bit bigger. It was a struggle to use toilet. Doors were jammed cauz of rain I understand it’s very old riad so maintenance is difficult and that’s the reason there is foul smell in washrooms but if washrooms are closed that’s not a problem.

Verified reviewGreat location in the medina. Very close to the Blue Gate! Very easy to organise taxis with staff & other tours. Very helpful particularly Ayoub that went above and beyond for us, even walking us to our taxi at 3.30am. Great stay, highly recommend.
Bathroom is a little small if you are a tall person.

Verified reviewGood location. Good night for the person just looking for the place to sleep.
Located at inside of the small path. Thus no window in the room. As far as what we see, only one door is available to escape from there if it is caught fire. No safety available. Room and bath room is very small.

Verified reviewA small family-run Riad right in the middle of the Medina. The owners were extremely welcoming and caring, we enjoyed talking to them, and appreciated their local insights and suggestions. Breakfast was fresh and generous. Perfect location.
Cleanliness- can be improved greatly. Especially the bathroom. Comfort- the mattress and pillows in the double bed upstairs need replacement. Mattress sags in the middle.
