Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesJust being honest—while there were a few minor drawbacks, we felt the overall value made them easy to overlook. The room was very clean, but we found it a bit sparsely appointed for our taste. There was no bathroom door, just a curtain, and the small hairdryer provided wasn’t really functional. The alley sometimes had a strong smell of cat urine, which was unpleasant, and there were about 35 stairs to reach our room, which could be a challenge for some. Also, as early risers, we would have appreciated access to coffee or tea before breakfast service began at 8:30. That said, these were relatively small issues in the context of an otherwise positive stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Dar Anne. The rooftop and the food were definite highlights. We were fortunate to have a top-floor room, which gave us easy access to the rooftop—a perfect spot to step out and enjoy the sunrise. The location was also a bonus, making it easy to explore the area. The place offered great value and was exceptionally clean. Amina, the host, was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. She assisted with arranging pick-up from the train station, helped organize tours, and even made sure someone was there to collect our luggage for an early morning departure so we could easily walk to the taxi station. Her thoughtful support really made our visit smooth and enjoyable.

GermanyEverything was perfect
Staying at Amina’s place was a true pleasure. It felt like a little peaceful island in the middle of the busy medina of Fes. After long walks around the city, it was such a relief to come “home” — because Dar Anne really felt like home. We were welcomed with the best homemade dinners and an amazing view over the city. Breakfasts were also always delicious. I highly recommend this place!

Thank you very much for your hospitality! The beautiful room, spotlessly clean and comfortable, the wonderful breakfasts on the terrace and the kindness of the staff, all made our trip to Fes special.

MoroccoOur stay was truly wonderful! The room was not only spotlessly clean but also felt warm and inviting, like a home away from home. Amina was an absolute gem—kind, attentive, and always greeting us with a heartfelt smile. She went above and beyond, preparing a delicious dinner for us on the terrace, where we enjoyed a peaceful evening under the stars, soaking in the breathtaking view. The dar, nestled in the heart of the old medina, was surprisingly easy to find and conveniently close to parking. Thoughtful as ever, our host had even arranged for someone to meet us, assist with our luggage, and guide us to our room. Every little detail made us feel cared for. It was an unforgettable experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend this dar to anyone looking for warmth, hospitality, and charm!

IrelandNot the property’s fault, but the alley constantly smell of cat’s piss due to stray cats
It’s located in one of the alleys of the medina, away from noise. Nicely decorated, comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom was great. Staff was very friendly. My travel companion is allergic to gluten, and she got a special breakfast

United StatesI would have preferred a door rather than a curtain separating the bathroom from the bedroom, but that's minor. And be aware that reaching your room requires climbing a few flights of narrow, steep steps--it's not a flaw in Dar Anne, just the nature of staying in a very old medina house.
Amina is a lovely and generous host. (She even offered to do a little laundry for us.) The dinner she served us on check-in was delicious (extra fee), and the breakfasts featuring her own breads were also substantial and delicious. (Meals are served on the rooftop terrace.) Dar Anne's location is also a plus--it's down a couple of narrow streets off the main street of the medina, so it's quiet and a nice refuge from the bustle and chaos. One recommendation: let Amina arrange a taxi for you from your arrival location, which will be met by a porter who will cart your bags and show you the way. Well worth the 100Ddh.

United KingdomAt first we couldn't find Dar Anna, however locals where very helpful to guide us there, and if you download Maps.Me this is the best offline map routing app in Morocco.
Dar Anna is ran by the most wonderful host, Armina. Her cooking is incredible and the best we ate from our trip through Morocco. The house was clean and tidy and full of wonder when you reach the terrace on the 4th/5th floor- fantastic views and a great place to eat breakfast and dinner! The room we had was clean, spacious and with a very comfortable bed. I wasn't well whilst staying in Fes and our hot cared for me, even helped with medicine. A lovely home to stay in whilst you can adventure around the city.

ItalyPrice a bit too high. The "deluxe double room" is spacious but the only window faces the terrace were dinner and breakfast is served so it lacks a bit of privacy
Right on one of the main streets in the medina. Good facilities and furniture. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

GreeceThe room was very comfortable and clean. Amina was helpful, polite, always with a smile. She prepared for us a very nice dinner in the terrace. The terrace was a place to relax and had a very nice view. The dar was in the old medina, but easy to find and also very close to the parking. He had informed the parking man for our arrival, so there was a man there who helped us with the suitcases and guided us to the room. Very nice experience. I recommend this dar!

NetherlandsWhilst not luxurious by any means it is really good value for money! I felt safe and taken care of.
What really stands out, and what many have said before me, is the warm and attentive welcome of Amina (and her assistant) - always available to arrange something and up for a nice chat (it always felt genuine) - it was my first glimpse of Moroccan hospitality. The place is small but she runs it impeccably. The room itself was spacious and the dar tucked away from the Medina. We also really enjoyed eating (still dreaming of the sweet honey tomato dip, yum!) and drinking on the cute rooftop overlooking the vastness and intricacies of the medina and its narrow streets

NetherlandsWi-Fi speed is too low.
There were signs on the walls of the houses leading to the Riad, so this Riad can be easily found without a smartphone navigator. Everything was fine, there were no problems. Breakfast is plentiful, we could not eat everything offered.

Spainthe only thing to note is that the bathroom in the room does not have a door, just a curtain to partially block views.
Great location, close to entrance to the medina, off the main streets. Amina and the rest of the staff are lovely. She made sure we felt welcomed and communicated with us in French and English. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, and Dinner is offered for an extra cost. The room was large and comfortable.
