Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was nothing I didn't like, but I think a fan would be a really nice addition.
Riad Dar Aldea is gorgeous! From the intricately painted doors and walls, to the beautiful tile and the lattice wood on the ceiling, there has been so much attention to detail. The breakfast, served on a beautiful rooftop, was my favorite so far, consisting of different breads, egg, avocado, olives, goat cheese, marmalade, almond butter, and of course orange juice and tea. The staff is very kind and helpful and the room and bathroom were very clean. The mattress is really comfortable and there was a mattress pad! My room (second floor with a window overlooking the stairs in front) was small and the bathroom quite small, so maybe not ideal for two people, but perfect for one. Located in the middle of the Medina, it's a little tricky to find like all of the riads, so it's probably a good idea to arrange ahead of time for someone to pick you up. I absolutely recommend!

CanadaIt’s best to travel light when visiting Chefchaouen. Like all places in the Medina, you have to climb a few steps. To us, this is part of the charm.
We loved the location, the terrace views and the warm welcome from our hosts. The room and bathroom were quite small but with access to the sunny terrace, this was fine for us. The wonderful Amina, our hostess, provided us with an exceptional meal one night - the best we’ve had during three weeks in Morroco. Amina knows how to combine flavour and presentation to create a memorable meal.(We had requested vegetarian.) Thanks to her husband, as well, for ensuring we were well looked.

United StatesThe room got cold at night. Make sure you know where your extra blankets are stored if it's not summer.
Super charming rooms dripping with design in a photogenic location. Dar Aldea is set back from a main street, Avenue Hassan I, up a winding staircase (with lots of people waiting for photos). The orange trees out front were in blossom, friendly cats, and yes plenty of blue. The terrace, and the views of the city and mountain from it, are fantastic. The photos don't do it justice. Dar Aldea also had a delicious and generous breakfast, the best of our trip. The couple were really nice, helpful, and accommodating.

United StatesWe were totally satisfied with our visit.
The location was great and we had a very nice room. Our host was very helpful and friendly. She fed us well and helped when I got sick for a day. She allowed us to stay an extra day while I was recovering and helped arrange transportation when we left. We loved staying there and would stay there again if we return to Chefchaouen.

In the heart of Chefchaouen but in a beautiful and quiet alley, the Dar offers a great view from the terrace. The room was small but very cosy and authentic, exactly what you would expect. The host was very kind. We felt very welcome. The whole place has character and authenticity in abundance.

United StatesCars can’t reach the home so arriving and leaving required 5ish minutes of walking the hills and streets of the market.
Amina is a great host. She made us feel right at home. The room was beautifully decorated and there is a beautiful roof deck to enjoy views of the mountains and city. Amina even made us breakfast to go for our early morning trip.

United StatesThe location was perfect, right in the middle of the old town Medina. The only thing that you have to be aware of is that the cars will not be able to get to the house so pack light :) The entire family who worked at the facility were very nice, trying to help me get around and cooking a great breakfast for me. I enjoyed the time staying there and making friends with the house management as well as the owner. Great people!!!

United StatesFinding it would have been hard if we didn’t have help and it was many stairs but it didn’t cost much for someone to help up on the way to the riad. People are very kind here. When we checked out, they happily took care of our luggage and showed us where our driver was.
They made us feel like family.

They sorted out an overnight for us in Azilane and even made us a free lunch to take for the hike! We didn't hesitate in booking an extra night for when we got back. AustraliaQuite noisy in medina as no soundproofing. Just something to be mindful of.
Great location within the medina and a classic Dar. Wonderful food cooked by the friendly staff. They arranged guide Ali to give me a day tour and hike to Spanish Mosque, I would highly recommend him. My heater wasn't working well in the Blue Room, but staff promptly moved me to a room that air con was working.
