Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaI guess we would have liked the option for more food at dinner or breakfast.
The location of the camp is stunning. Wish we would have stayed here for an extra day. Our room was basic, but comfortable. The kids were really excited, everything around them was a huge playground. The jeep ride from M'hamid took around 1h40'.

Czech RepublicAmazing experience in the dunes of Erg Chigaga. The location just in the middle of the dunes is perfect and very relaxing. Mohammed was very friendly and nice. The transfer to the camp was interesting as we were going through a desert storm so it took over 2 hours. On the way back, it took 1.5 hours. Transfer was for 90€. I would definitely go to this camp again for more nights. 🙂

NetherlandsWe had an incredible experience in this fantastic location. The rooms are basic, but that’s exactly what we loved, we didn’t miss a thing. The facilities were clean, and there was even a hot shower. Don’t come here expecting luxury, come for the authentic experience: dark, quiet nights under a sky full of stars and great conversations around the campfire. The drive to the camp was an adventure in itself, made even better by Mustafa and his fantastic local music. We’d also like to thank Mohammed, Ali, and the rest of the team for their warm hospitality and for making us feel at home. If you’re looking for a pure, authentic desert experience, this is the place to be

Everything. A shower isn't something necessary in the winter time.. so if you do, it is a little cold in the evening. Food is simple and nice. Ali the host was accommodating and nice. His team is nice .. everything great. Location is awesome.. all view from all rooms are the same. Their shared toilet is also the same as private toilet .. it doesn't matter. The driving journey was also great. Mohammed is the designated car owner/driver ... Has great desert Berber music and drives safely and a lot to share about the desert..

GermanyI would have liked to have stayed some more hours in the morning (it was a bit hectic as we didn't know that we had to leave at 10), Check-out time might have stood in booking.com but I'm not sure. If you have time, do two nights and spend the day lounging about in the calm of the desert and doing some dune trecks or camel rides
We thoroughly enjoyed our quick trip into the desert. We organised a pick-up by 4WD and Mohammed picked us up on Mhamid at the end of the last roundabout in a white Toyota. It was an unbelievably fun 1,5hr drive through the desert. The camp is situated just between the first smaller dunes, tucked away so that you don't see other camps (at night you hear the drums and music a tiny bit if the wind is a particular way), but otherwise it feels secluded. The hut/tent is spacious and the bed quite comfortable. The bathroom was better than imagined for the desert. Also food was really good, a very good soup and chicken tajine for dinner and a crispy egg made in a tajine for breakfast. Walking the dunes was a lot of fun, especially for sunset and bright and early in the morning. Mohammed took us back to Mhamid early the next day, and even tried to drive us by some antilopes. We also had really nice conversations with him, fascinating to learn about Berber and nomad life.

SwitzerlandAbsolutely recommended! We were picked up as agreed and the drive to the camp was impressive. The bumpy ride through the impressive landscape with the smell of wild rocket. And then the music from the radio, it still echoes ... :) The camp is located between the dunes. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the hospitality was warm. our hosts Mohamed and Ali told us impressive and exciting stories about life on the edge of the desert in the past and today. Next time we will stay longer than two nights…

MoroccoThank you to Mohamed and Ali for the absolutely warm welcome. Me and my friends loved our stay at your camp very much. You offered us an exceptional space to just be and relax in the most beautiful surrounding of Chegaga dunes. We slept peacefully under a starlight sky engulfed by the pure magic of this place. We were well nourished by your super kitchen and experienced magic every day. 1001 ☺️ thank you

RomaniaThis was my second visit to the camp, and once again, I have nothing but positive things to say. The camp provides everything you need, without excess, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the stunning surrounding nature. The dinner was enjoyable, and we especially appreciated the variety of fruit options. Mohammed, the host, is both friendly and professional, sharing fascinating insights about life in the desert. A word of advice: the journey from M'hamid to the camp can take up to 2 hours. Unless you are highly skilled in off-roading, it's better to leave your car in the village and go with Mohammed's vehicle. Be sure to bring your own water, snacks, and any other essentials for relaxation. If you're passing through Ouarzazate, the Carrefour supermarket there is a good place to stock up. If you find it too warm inside the tent at night, feel free to sleep outside or leave the door open—there are no mosquitoes and no uninvited guests, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. And for those who prefer staying connected, there is WiFi at the camp, so you can still waste your life doom scroll through social media if the dunes aren't enough.

Our beste experience in Morocco! Visiting a dessertcamp in summertime is clearly not very common! The camp was opened especially for us by Mohamed and Ali, there was no one there! A very special place! Watching sunset and sunrise from the dunes was great. And sleeping outside under millions of stars, because the tents were way too hot, was overwhelming! Mohamed and Ali made us a wonderful diner and breakfast and the 2 hours ride to and from the camp through the dessert was an experience in itself! Mohamed and Ali many thanks: it was very special to visit the area that you know so well! Anne Marije, Sophie, Danique and Rick

NetherlandsNothing. Everything was beyond what I expected.
In all my travels, only a handful of places gave me a profound feeling of serenity and grounding. When I stepped outside the jeep at Chegaga Berber Camp, it felt like the perfect place where to rest, meditate, and travel internally. The camp is a real berber camp. They opened in 2008 and is run by Mohamed and Ali, two incredibly kind and judicious souls. During our stay, the weather was windy which made difficult any outdoor activity; however, they made sure we had stuff to do and share some incredibly valuable quality time with my partner and me. I honestly had some of the most interesting discussions, learning so much about Morocco, its politics, culture, and Berber traditions and life in the desert. You cannot put a price on how much valuable this is. Some more highlights: The food was always incredibly fresh and delicious. The beds are uber-comfy and facilities were working perfectly fine. And the dunes and landscapes...well, they are out of this world.

PortugalStaying at the Chegaga Berber Camp was nothing short of spectacular—a true desert adventure! From M'hamid, our guide Moubarek expertly navigated the desert to our campsite, enhancing the journey with sights of caravans and oases. The camp itself was authentically Berber, blending tradition with comfort to create a serene escape. Highlights included a stunning sunset walk, a candlelit dinner under the stars with heartfelt music, and engaging conversations with our hosts about life in the Sahara. Thanks, Mohamed and Ali. This experience is a must for anyone looking to connect with nature and culture in a profound way.
