Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AlbaniaHonestly, everything was wonderful. If anything, the only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer.
The hotel felt like staying inside a little museum – full of charm, history, and beautiful details. The location was perfect, and the atmosphere made our time in Tangier feel like a dream. It was honestly the cutest and most inspiring place we’ve stayed in, Abdelaatif, Emad, Osman, all the gorgeous ladies working there you made us feel like family and melted our hearts.

Tucked away but central location. Quirky but fun layout curated with lots of interesting items. The terraced grounds are lovely with spectacular sea views. The staff were very helpful and good humoured and created a very relaxed vibe. The breakfast was delicious with lots of local ingredients. Room was very comfortable.

SpainThe hotel is located metres from the kasbah and with fantastic sea views. The hotel has a traditional interior with lots of quiet spaces. Our room ‘Iris’ had a terrace with views of the sea, a large, comfortable bed all in a traditional design. Breakfast on the terrace was special.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at this hotel. It was an oasis of peace in the city. The breakfast was delicious and it was a bonus being able to have it on the peaceful shady balcony. The pool facilities were fantastic too. The accommodation is centrally located but slightly away from the busiest part of the medina, which we really liked as it was a calm place to come back to on an evening. The room was cool and fresh even in the warmer weather. Staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Definitely our favourite accommodation of our trip!

NetherlandsI had the most wonderful stay at Aux 3 Portes and can’t recommend it highly enough. Tanger is a vibrant and expansive city, and as a solo traveler focused on exploring the medina and taking a short side trip, I couldn’t have picked a better home base. The team at Aux 3 Portes made everything effortless—from offering local recommendations to helping arrange logistics. Their warm hospitality made me feel completely at ease from the moment I arrived. The property itself is truly special. Once a grand private residence, it has been thoughtfully transformed into a boutique hotel with just a handful of elegant, individually decorated rooms. The atmosphere is tranquil and refined, with multiple outdoor terraces and lush garden spaces that invite you to linger and relax. I had the pleasure of staying in two rooms during my visit—Zinnia and Iris—both of which featured private balconies and were beautifully appointed with unique details that reflect the charm of the home’s history. As a solo traveler, I felt genuinely welcomed and completely comfortable wherever I went—within the hotel and around the city. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Aux 3 Portes. You were not only helpful and professional but also exceptionally kind. Your care and attention made my time in Tangier truly unforgettable.

United KingdomIn a world of bland lookalike hotels, Aux 3 Portes is an incredible, quirkily unique gem. Everything is pleasingly analogue, the eclectic decor makes it feel like you’re staying in a well-curated antiques shop, and the location overlooking the sea and just a moment’s walk from the kasbah and old Medina is ideal.

United StatesThe only thing I can say is, there is just a bathtub with a sprayer, no shower or curtain, which is a little difficult for us Americans!
Incredibly beautiful property with ocean views and beautiful gardens and terraces. The staff was wonderful, very helpful and accommodating. The dinner we had there was excellent. We missed breakfast because we had to get an early train, but they provided us with a sack breakfast which was nice. They even discounted our dinner because we missed breakfast!

AustraliaNothing really.
Such a unique and intriguing little place that twisted and turned, up and down, crammed with incredible furnishings and art and nestled in a most beautiful and abundant garden high on the Kasbah overlooking the sea. Every time I looked out the window my heart skipped a beat. Gentle breezes, the sounds of waves and seagulls from the front and footsteps, chatter and school kids singing from the laneway out back. Just beautiful.

SpainBreakfast was 30 minutes late, which was a bit upsetting as we only had a couple of hours before leaving for the airport. Breakfast just ok, expexted a bit more for this type of accomodation which is on the higher end. Servers could have been a bit more attentive.
Impressive property with clearly lots of history in its kitch decor. Beautiful gardens and views from the terraces. Nice empty pool area. Would book again.

SpainLovely classic European/Moroccan style decor within multiple interior public sitting areas, on roof terrace and in garden leading to swimming pool on bluff overlooking sea. Spacious bedroom and bath. Extremely helpful staff. Great value for money. I previously lived in Tangier for 2 years, so know my way around. This is my preferred option.
