Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoroccoWhile my friend was struggling with heavy luggage on the steep road, Bashar didn’t offer to help until I asked. He called us “الأنيسة كعب الغزال” three times, and I asked him to stop. I don’t know if he is the host or just staff; he only introduced himself as Bashar. There was some hair in the shower sink on arrival, and the soap dispenser was broken. Breakfast had no fruit, and instead of honey, there was some red artificial jam, which we didn’t eat.
Great location near Uta el-Hammam. Rooftop room with AC, private bathroom, and no humidity. Cute rustic decoration as in the photos, though colors online looked brighter. Bashar helped us find and guide the car into a parking spot (30dh/day to guardian). Smoking forbidden inside the house. The cleaning lady was kind, and Redouane was polite. Breakfast on the terrace was okay: omelet (3 eggs shared between 2 people), olive oil, jeben, meloui, bread, olives, orange juice, and tea with sugar on the side.

HondurasIt's super cute, the place is exactly like the pictures show. The place is in a good location and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They made sure my sister and I were comfortable all the time. The cleaning lady was so nice she took us to the taxi and made sure we got a fair price.

Amazing place, very sweet and clean with beautiful views of mountains. Good Maroco breakfast with eggs and olives what was not standard in other houses. Super location. Each detail in house is very good and very well done. I recommend visiting this place and staying there!

JapanI had a fantastic stay at Afra House in Chefchaouen! The location is perfect for exploring the city — just a short walk from all the main sights. What really made the stay special was the owner’s kindness and hospitality. They didn’t just help with anything I needed at the house, but also recommended amazing local restaurants that aren’t touristy, giving me a much more authentic experience of the city. I truly appreciated their warm welcome and would definitely stay here again!

JapanBeautifully decorated place with a lovely terrace for breakfast, and such a kind host. Bachar went above and beyond—he met me when I arrived, helped carry my heavy suitcase through the charming streets of Chefchaouen, and even arranged a taxi. The breakfast on the terrace was the cherry on top!

United StatesNothing ! We knew what kind of property was at the time of booking, a very traditional house with small rooms, no elevator and full of character and that exactly was the case. We were traveling light with a carry-on and a backpack. If you want to take big suitcases think twice because the city is cobble stoned and streets with sometimes high inclinations and stairs, Not ideal for rolling luggage around.
Bachar, the host was very friendly and made sure we had a good experience, very respectful, professional and kind. He met us at the main plaza to guide us to the Afra House, he even helped us carrying one carry-on walking up the streets of Chefchaouen. The views from the terraces are very nice and if the weather is good, having breakfast at one of the terraces is a big plus. They served a good traditional breakfast to start your day (Fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs in a Tagine clay pot, Coffee on a French press and hot milk for the coffee, traditional bread toasted, honey, jam, cheese and olives(See picture) location is just perfect and the decor makes you feel at home, quiet and very clean. Great hospitality!.

United KingdomWe visited in a particularly wet and cold spell and the house was very cold. We did manage to warm up the rooms with the air conditioning on heat settings (but were concerned about the cost of doing so). It would have been good if the rooms had been warmed up in advance. This is a traditional Moroccan house with lots of steps. Not a problem for us, but wouldn't suit those with mobility problems or large suitcases!
Afra house is a colourful, Moroccan house full of interesting local arts and crafts. The beds are comfortable with plenty of warm duvets and blankets, hot showers await and the breakfast was excellent with warm breads, pancakes, homemade jams, fresh orange juice and freshly cooked eggs. Fatima and Ibrahim were very friendly and welcoming. The location, hidden away in a back street of the old town, is very quiet and just a few minutes walk away from the historic centre, shops and restaurants.

United KingdomWe appreciate the weather was particularly cold when we stayed but even with the heating system our room was freezing cold and the water for the shower was also not very warm for us this made our stay a little uncomfortable but there was nothing anyone could have done to fix this for us due to the weather.
The staff were so lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The location is amazing with fantastic views.
