“The hospitality at this lodge off the beaten track in an isolated village in the Ounila Valley was outstanding and genuine. The owner is generous and shared time with us during both meals we had at the Riad. The meals were both substantial and representative of the best Moroccan home cooking. There was a rugged beauty to this harsh environment where life is challenging for the local villagers. This is a place to go to see the “real” Morocco and a great place for trekking as the host is a former trek leader and still organises trekking experiences in collaboration with overseas companies.
