Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaI didn’t like the music playing all night — the strong bass vibrations were very noticeable and made it hard to rest. I also didn’t like the artificial flowers in the interior; they made the space look cheap.
liked the modern interior, the interesting and attractive colors of the room and the hotel, the very convenient location, and the delicious breakfast with a wide variety.

United StatesIn a noisy central area, but that’s why it’s a great location. It wasn’t too noisy in the room then.

United KingdomLess good was the shower. Small and rickety. Plastic doors that didn’t join. Black mould on the sealant at base and on some tile grouting felt like a relic that let the room down. Breakfast is not in the main building but across the courtyard in “2 more beers” which was ill lit, and noisy and at €15 expensive for limited options and quality. Our tip, go to a local bakery or cafe have excellent strudel or pastries for half the price
This is a very well located hotel in the heart of the old town. Just behind the churches of Saint Peter and Saint John, about 2 mins from Blackheads Hall and 5 from the cathedral. Very nice restaurants nearby. We recommend Domini Canes. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Organised airport taxi and chased when held up. We had a twin room reasonably well laid out. Super quiet so good nights rest assured

United StatesPillows weren’t comfortable & no robes (though we didn’t ask if they had other pillows or robes, to be fair). Hairdryer was awful as one has to keep the button pressed w/one’s thumb to keep power on and it’s exhausting. Plus dryer made hair frizzy. It was attached to wall so if the bathroom was hot & damp (no fan), it was not an ideal place to dry one’s hair.
Beautiful new boutique hotel with FANTASTIC brewery/restaurant, huge delish breakfast and stylish, roomy rooms. Lots of storage space. In the most central location; old town at your door! Cool relaxation with tons of cool coffee table books to peruse & a cute cash cafe also attached. Walkable to everything: in center of old town, minutes to bus/train stations, Jewish ghetto museum, arts nouveau district!

CanadaWe specifically chose this place because it had air conditioning, but unfortunately it wasn’t working properly.
Great location and a nicely decorated room. The breakfast was excellent — with such a wide variety of food for all tastes, there’s really no need to go elsewhere. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful.

We were very impressed. The hotel is located in a historic building(s). Lovely, spacious, light and quiet room. Excellent central location right in the middle of the old town. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Good quality breakfasts. If we ever return to Riga, we would come back to this hotel.

IrelandEverything was amazing and if we visit Riga again, will come back for sure.
Very nice hotel in the Old Town, a spacious room with the large bathroom and all amenities. Everything what you may need is less than 2min away, while the bus and train main stations are 7-10min walk. Excellent breakfast served in a hotel bar, lot of space to eat and good selection of food. This hotel is excellent choice for short or a longer stay.

TurkeyMy keycard stopped working for two times during our stay for some reason but it was a minor obstacle.
Hotel is located in the old town and is very convenient to explore places around on foot. There is a shopping mall and many restaurants and cafes around. Breakfast was with a large selection and also found breakfast times to be very convenient. Room was spacious, and it was viewing a cosy courtyard which was not very noisy.
