New Year at Forest Edge Lodge was an absolute delight! The hosts were incredibly gracious and warm, welcoming us with open arms. Staying at the lodge was just what we needed. It's tucked away, giving a sense of escape without being too isolated. The atmosphere was homely and the hosts, incredibly welcoming. Looking forward to our next visit to this charming spot.

Thanks to Gary and Elena for a great stay. The lodge was perfect and it’s very clear they put a lot of effort into making our stay as pleasant as possible. The lodge has everything you could possibly need, is very spacious, clean and comfortable. We especially liked the well-appointed kitchen and the wood burning stove. Location is good for both Riga and Jūrmala - we used Bolt but you could easily drive or get a bus. Overall, for the price and compared to other nearby properties, we think this was good value.

everything was clean, cute and in great shape.. house is very unique with forest being your backyard.. owners are super friendly and helpful.. we enjoyed every moment there and will definitely come back and refer our friends

Absolutley amazing ! Awesome owners , everything was so clean and tidy , recomending this place 100% . We are planning to come back next year . We had a loveley evening with a hot tub and barbeque . We enjoyed our stay , and didint want to leave . Comfortable beds , felt like home. Thank you so so much Gary and Elena .

An amazing place with amazing owners. Very unique and original. You are in capital city of Latvia, but you can barley feel it. More like a peaceful summer place. You can really forget about the world there and simply relax fully. The garden and the area is very huge and the log cabin feels like home; cozy and safe. There is and original english sofa inside with a very nice and aesthetic cover material. There is a very comfortable bed, and a sauna and fireplace and you get as much wood to it as you want or may need. And the last but not least: the owners are truly amazing people. Always willing to help, hear and do their best to make you feel like home. There are really rarely people like them anymore. We will definitely stay again, and again, and again ;)

The house is under the airplane route so we could not have a good sleep any night at all. The place is to small for 4 people when you can not sit outside for a meal.

The garden was nice and big for playing and resting. Place is close to the city.

It was very cold in the house and we had to sit in our jackets for 2 hours, while trying to heat up the space (~6 electric heaters and a fireplace). Had mixed feelings about the host. She tried to be welcoming, but due to few facts we did not feel like that. Host was very overprotective of the property which is understandable as they are the owners, but as a guest it was not pleasant and made us feel uncomfortable. We were asked for an ID and deposit which is returned the next day, host gave us multiple instructions to keep the place tidy, gave us warnings and upon checkout host inspected the place and asked us if we did not break anything. I know there are cases when guests mess up something, but it's part of this business and I don't think every guest should be looked at as such problem causer. In total I think there are 4 houses owned by the same owners within the territory. Houses are quite close to each other, so it's something to keep in mind if searching for privacy. We were visiting during cold season, thus mostly everyone was inside the houses and did not bother each other.

Everything in the house is quite new as the house itself was just recently built, thus there were no broken or old things. Fireplace was quite comforting and we really enjoyed it. Overall everything was clean and tidy, except stinky towels.
