How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Truly a hidden gem – quiet, cozy, with beautiful views of the trees and close to the sea. Netflix access was a great bonus. Would definitely recommend staying here!

There could be a bit more room for toiletries in the bathroom.
The property was clean and tidy, the location of the property is great as it is removed from all the fuss and the beach is easily accessible via a nice forest path. The rooms on the first floor facing the garden are especially nice as you get a good view facing the forest and the garden itself is a nice place to relax with a cup of coffee..

Perfect location, on a quiet part of Palanga, very close to the sea and walkable distance (20min) to town center. Appartment was clean and newly furnished. Fee for the dog is 20eur.

The room lacked any basic amenities - two towels altough there were three of us, no sponges to clean the dishes, one trash bag, no coffee, no tea towels. One of the beds had a weird smell.
Nice location, close to the beach, but far from everything else. The view from the window is nice.

Everything. No ac (and its a newish building) Because of no ac you need open windows and there are always people shouting and smoking downstairs until 1-2 an so you need to close the window but then you die from the lack of oxygen and heat. Very cheap apartments, loosy door handles, all doors creak like crazy, all walls and doors are paper thin you can literally hear neigbours peeing in the toilet or washing hands. Beds are extra small ( not even a double ) and pillows are super uncomfy. Hairdryer looks like a toy rather than a dryer, it dries the same way.. Location - 20 min by foot from the main streeet which is quite far away.

The 10-point rating doesn't reflect reality at all. Everything in the apartment is extremely cheaply made and low quality. The materials and furniture are cheap, and the renovation was likely done by non-professionals in a big rush. When we walked in, there was a layer of dust on almost all surfaces and debris on the floor. We had to wipe the dust and vacuum the floor ourselves (there was a vacuum on the staircase). When I wiped the bed frame, chairs and sofa, the cloth I was using turned almost black. There was human hair on the bed linen and in the bed frame. There was no heating except for an air conditioner. It was cold, but there was no remote for the AC, so we couldn't turn it on (most likely, the hosts took it away to save on the electricity bill). The second floor in the apartment is basically unusable because there's just a bare mattress lying there on the floor, and to get there you need to climb up a very steep ladder, and all that didn't look clean. There was no microwave, no wardrobe. No place for toiletries. The sofa smelled like an old sofa in a grandmother's house. There was a bottle of a super cheap shampoo in the shower which I genuinely advise the hosts to put away because it's better not to offer anything at all than this. The bed linen smelled awful - like it had been sitting in a drawer without fresh air for a long time. Yes, it had been washed, but the smell was not fresh at all. From other reviews I understood that they try to keep all the negative stuff away from the public as much as possible, and if you're not satisfied with something, they will blame you for not contacting them immediately, as if you owe them that. They will offer you a refund but to do that they will mark your booking as a no-show so that Booking returns the money to them. This is an obvious scam.
The location is great, the apartment complex is located right next to the forest. Tall trees surround the balcony, and you can hear the sea.
