Nothing only bathrooms ould be improved

We recently visited Yala Village Eco Tree House with my mother and husband, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The owners, together with his wife, are extremely kind, caring, and attentive. They made us feel so welcome and treated us with the utmost respect and hospitality. The place itself is beautiful, peaceful, and very close to nature – a perfect spot to relax and enjoy. Everything was well organized, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. I highly recommend Yala Village Eco Tree House to anyone who wishes to have an unforgettable and relaxing experience in a natural and friendly environment. We are truly grateful for the warm hospitality and can’t wait to visit again!

I stayed with Jula and his family for two nights and they were simply lovely. The tree house is located a bit outside of Tissa, so one can enjoy nature and its tranquility. Whenever I needed help, Jula was there. The accommodation is not luxurious, but if it is nature and and a small adventure you are looking for, this is the place for you. They also have an open shower so you can watch the stars while rinsing off.

As expected, there was presence of some bugs, mostly beetles. The nets on the bed were keeping most of them out of bed. Dogs barking in the neighborhood were disturbing the sleep. There were common bathroom on the ground though we were the only ones staying that night so it was okay.

A unique experience. The house was nicely built though the stairs were a bit difficult to climb. With trees all around, it gave a true nature feel with different sounds. Early morning we could hear birds chirping and peacocks howling. We could also peacocks and few bird species sitting on the trees around us. The owner Jula was really nice and helpful.

This is an eco village, so there’s no air conditioning—just fans—and the houses have open vents for natural airflow. As long as you’re careful with the mosquito nets, you should be able to keep mosquitoes, bugs, lizards, and other critters out.

I had the most enchanting stay at this place, nestled in lush greenery and surrounded by lovely birds. The tree house truly felt like a fairytale escape! The mud houses (with mosquito‑netted beds, which are much needed!) and hammocks swaying among the branches, offered a cozy, magical vibe. The charming family who runs the lodge welcomed me like one of their own, and the little ones’ cheerful greetings in the morning were absolutely heartwarming. :) They went above and beyond—arranging safari adventures at great value, fixing anything I needed, and even going shopping in heavy rain to make me a homemade dinner when I arrived late and hungry. If you’re seeking a warm, authentic, and storybook-like experience in the heart of Sri Lanka’s nature, this is the place to be!

We had an amazing stay! The team was incredibly accommodating and generous—surprising us with a free upgrade and always ready to help, even with last-minute requests like organizing a safari and a fishing trip. The food was delicious, and Jula, who manages the house, was both precise and friendly. Dimuthu and his family were attentive and always willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and well-organized getaway.

An absolutely amazing experience! We stayed in the cutest little wooden cabin, which made everything feel so cozy. We even got the chance to go fishing, which was such a special experience. On top of that, the location is perfect. Highly recommended!

It’s in the middle of nature, very calm and peaceful with only the sound of birds to hear. The best thing was the family. The hostel owner is super nice and helpful with any kind of little problem or question! I would 100% recommend it, I have rarely experienced such kindness without wanting anything in return! Also his little girl is the cutest!!

The garden and houses are beautiful. Lots of birds, very green and peaceful. The family is lovely and the little girl very friendly too! The house and furniture are decorated with taste. Loved the natural set-up and all the wooden structures around, and having breakfast underneath the treehouse!

Love it, love it, love it! Our hosts were a lovely family, very kind and helpful - they were very flexible with our check in and check out, organised a safari trip for us and helped us in getting dinner. The experience is totally recommended, however beware that it’s out in the nature, so you get really immersed in it, there might be some bugs in your room when you wake up ;) no worries though, each bed is equipped with a mosquito net, so you can sleep peacefully with sounds of nature.

Not for insects phobics...it is after all an eco village. The shower area is open air and there are room vents...just tuck in your mosquito nets really well and you'll be fine! A little distance to town

Efficiently run by Jula Basic but clean Safari group tours are reasonably priced

Such a special stay! A really unique experience to stay in the treehouse. If you want to stay in the treehouse make sure you book the right room - but they let me upgrade when I was there as there was no one in it. The hosts were so helpful and friendly and helped me arrange dinner and transport :)

The property is a peaceful and unique set up in the most wonderful and quiet place. Our room was spacious with mosquito nets and the facilities such as the toilets and shower were super clean. The host was so welcoming and kind to us throughout the whole trip, making sure he we had everything we needed from tuk-tuks, food and the times of local buses. Me and my friend were bewildered by his kindness and efficiency, a very hard worker who made the experience complete and unforgettable. Thank you so much, we’ll be back!

Great value for money. Also book your Safari to yala through the hostel. They have connections with the best guides. Let your host know what meals you need when you arrive. He can organise delivery or his wife makes beautiful traditional food. Also your host gives you a wake up call for your Safari. Very helpful to organise taxi to your next location or can give you tuk tuk to bus stop. Just give your host some notice. I also stayed at their other property for one night (Riverside Cabana in Tissamaharama) Perfect for a complete private tree experience. Beautiful river view. Wonderful food. Great owner who will organise your safari tours and is passionate about wildlife also.

The dinner was overpriced. We paid 1.500 for a simple Chicken Kottu per per person!

The rooms and the property is just lovely. Especially the family is very welcoming and nice. It was clean. I loved the open air shower. It's a bit outside of town but they organized a tuk tuk from the neighbor to take us to the store. It was possible to book a Safari through them for a good price too!

This majestic treehouse is a very cool experience for travelers and wanderers! It is located outside the city, in a very peaceful and quiet area! Everything resembles nature, the house is wooden and very comfortable! The beds have mosquito protection, very important for keeping insects off you! The shower is open, with no roof, so that you can actually stare at the stars or the sun! Our breakfast was adequately enjoyed and the housekeepers were lovely! If you’re afraid of bugs and you want to challenge yourself, I would definitely recommend staying there since you’re actually in the woods, experiencing a more natural environment!
