For this price, the stay was incredible! Perfect for budget travelers — great location, friendly host, and good facilities (even had an iron). The bed was comfortable and everything written in the reviews is true. It’s actually even nicer than the photos. However, one thing I didn’t see mentioned in reviews: there were a few bugs in the room, including a cricket, even though it was clean. Since it’s in the middle of nature, this is understandable — but it did make it hard to sleep comfortably after having to kill a couple before bed. Maybe the room was left open before we arrived, I’m not sure. Still, a simple solution like bug spray or discreet traps could really improve the experience. Overall, this is probably the best you can find for this price!

Couldn't fault it for the price point.

We had a great stay at Wow! The room is very spacious and modern with a four poster bed and mosquito net. The balcony is very big with a lovely view of the hills. Location wise, it’s up and down steep hills but that’s the case with most places in Ella, it’s a hilly place! We had a tuktuk to get around and it was just a couple of minutes to the Main Street. The hosts were very friendly, they delivered us afternoon tea and cake to the room when we arrived and lent us umbrellas to go out when it rained.

The wifi and data signal was a bit temperamental. I don’t think it’s the owners fault, it seems like there was a lack of wifi and signal in the area. The fridge was really nice to have but we couldn’t get it to work the whole time (though I’m sure if we asked the hosts, they would have fixed it!). These were all very minor issues in comparison to the amazing qualities of the room, especially the value for money.

The view from the room was amazing and the location was very peaceful, albeit up and down some very steep hills to get there (a short drive from Ella town centre). The hosts were very generous, honest and kind. The faculties were good - the room was very spacious and bed very comfortable, shower pressure and temperature was great. Highly recommend!

Great stay! The bed was large and comfortable, and the room spacious and clean with a magnificent view. Far enough outside of Ella to be away from the crowds, yet close enough to walk (by road or traintracks). The host family is super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast they prepared for us was amazing. This will be our go to place when we are in Ella.

Really, nothing to complain about! It exceeded by far my expectations!

My best stay in Sri Lanka! I booked 2 nights, I stayed 5. It has the best location in Ella - with a view to the waterfall and mountains, away from downtown noise and chaos but close enough to have a 15-20 min walk if you need anything from there. Some restaurants are nearby, no need to go to town. Breakfasts are big and delicious, served with the best view, in the garden. Hosts are super kind, helpful and considerate, leaving you your privacy (I travelled solo). The room is amazing, spacious, clean, huge bed, private balcony where I often chilled with the view. I mean, it's a five star place for a budget price, I absolutely loved being here!

You have warm welcome time in this villa, we're very thankful for villa owner and his family! Good quality breakfast with amazing view. We got many pleasant memories of our trip to Ella thanks to our stay at this villa. I highly recommend this hotel if you want amazing views, best quality service, clean rooms and pleasant conversations with an intelligent host. He makes cozy atmosphere and it was there that I felt real Sri Lankan hospitality 🩵

Limited access to WiFi as it kept breaking. Frequent power cuts which impacted the use of the fan and it was extremely hot at night. Difficult steep access via a slippery slope. Check in was tricky as the owners wife didn’t speak English and you have to pay on card and they didn’t have change.

Very reasonable price. Large room. Beautiful view from the balcony.
