Woodland Sanctuary exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms were spotless and beautifully styled with a rustic touch. We loved the natural surroundings — waking up to the sounds of birds and frogs was magical. The breakfast provided each morning was delicious and prepared with care. What really stood out was the host’s hospitality — Maleesha was always friendly and helped us organize transport and activities. The pool was a great bonus and we appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was. We would definitely come back and stay longer next time!

This place is something special. We stayed for two nights and were blown away by the setting, the hospitality, and the peacefulness of the surroundings. The property is filled with trees, flowers, and little paths that make it feel like a jungle retreat. The pool was always clean and inviting, perfect for a dip in the afternoons. Our room had a comfortable bed, great ventilation, and the outdoor shower was amazing — we even spotted a few fireflies while showering at night. Maleesha is a top-notch host who truly cares about his guests. Highly recommend!

The rooms are beautifully designed with a natural wooden theme, giving a cozy yet modern feel. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. What really stood out was the hospitality — the owners were incredibly warm and helpful, making sure every detail was taken care of. I also had the chance to join a traditional Sri Lankan cooking session hosted by the owner’s mother — such a memorable and delicious experience! Location-wise, it’s perfect. It’s close to Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temple, and the safari parks, but tucked away enough to feel like a proper retreat. Woodland Sanctuary lives up to its name – a true haven tucked into the forest, away from the noise and stress of everyday life. The wooden rooms are beautifully crafted, with large windows that let in natural light and offer stunning views of the trees and garden. We spent most of our time relaxing on the veranda and enjoying the fresh air. One of the highlights was the cooking session with the host’s mother, who taught us how to make authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry. It was a heartwarming and unforgettable experience. Everything here is done with love, and it shows.

Woodland Sanctuary is something out of a dream! From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by peace and nature. The room itself was built entirely from polished wood, giving it a warm and natural feel, and the bathroom was made with real rock — it was so artistic and relaxing to use. Maleesha was amazing — friendly, informative, and helped us with everything from tuk-tuk rides to safari tours. Breakfast was tasty, and served with care each morning. The pool is huge and well maintained, and the garden is just beautiful, full of birds and butterflies. This is a unique experience and truly one of the most beautiful new stays in Sri Lanka.

We had an incredible experience at Woodland Sanctuary! The wooden two-story room felt like a luxury jungle lodge — so cozy, spacious, and beautifully crafted. One of the highlights was the bathroom, designed with natural rock, which gave a really unique and refreshing feel. Maleesha, the host, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He arranged our safari, transport, and even helped us plan our day trips around Habarana. The breakfast each morning was fresh, local, and delicious. The swimming pool is large and surrounded by a peaceful garden — we spent hours just relaxing there. This is a very new and creative concept for Sri Lanka and we’re so glad we found it. The property is amazing and unique for this area of Sri Lanka. Everything is built with local sourced materials and it’s beautiful. Maleesha and everyone working there is super friendly and helpful. They helped us with a breakfast to take away, laundry and they offered us an amazing barbecue on the pool for our second night. You can’t miss the breakfast and the commodity of their cabanas.
