Great accomodation. Big room and bathroom. No AC however there was a fan and it does get cooler at night so it was fine without air con. The best thing about this place is the stunning views. Big comfortable chairs outside to sit and relax and enjoy the view. Breakfast was also very good. Short 5 min tuk into town. Recommend this place

The only thing we regret is not staying longer… next time then.

Probably one of the most picturesque place we stayed during out trip to Sri Lanka. Our room had a spectacular view on the hills, the waterfall, train-tracks and Ella town. The room itself was cosy and clean, had a small fridge, water boiler and even complimentary instant coffee and tea. The staff is super friendly and helpful and overall such nice people 🫶🏻 Absolutely loved this place!

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s located a bit outside of town, which means it’s nice and quiet. They organize a tuktuk for you to get around whenever necessary. Danu was always extremely friendly and helped us with everything.

The shower temperature was temperamenta, it was cold for several minutes and then scolding hot.

Location is amazing. The view from the balcony looks out over the mountains and valleys. Truly spectacular. Breakfast was prepared for the time we wanted and was an excellent traditional sri lankan meal.

Ella itself is a charming yet bustling destination, reminiscent of mountain resorts. That's why we were so pleased with our choice of hotel, which is situated just outside the town center. It's a bit of a walk to reach.Alternatively, tuk-tuks are readily available for a quick ride. The hotel's location offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfasts are absolutely delightful. Additionally, the hotel serves dinner, and we highly recommend it—the meals are homemade and delicious. Overall, this guest house provides a peaceful retreat with excellent hospitality.

The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which unfortunately didn’t work during our stay. But aside from that, it’s a lovely little place to enjoy some peace and quiet surrounded by nature.

We stayed here for two nights during our road trip, and the experience was good. The views from the property are absolutely stunning—you can catch a breathtaking sunrise over the mountains, see a waterfall, and even spot the train line winding through the hills. A special thank you to Nikshana, who was truly amazing and went above and beyond to take care of us. He helped in every possible way and made our stay so much more comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and we really appreciated the privacy of the rooms. Each one is well-separated, which makes for a peaceful and relaxing stay. We booked three rooms—one of them was under renovation but still comfortable, and the other two, were in good condition and also being gradually upgraded.

Mold in the room upstairs

We booked 2 rooms at Will Guest Homestay - 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The one downstairs was very new, clean and beautifully designed. The one upstairs, unfortunately, had some mold on the ceiling, which we understand is a common issue in Ella, so maybe there isn’t much that could be done. We enjoyed our stay despite that, as the hospitality of the guests was beyond imaginable - they even got up very early to accommodate a delicious breakfast for us, as we had to take off at 6:30am. The view from the rooms in the mornings was magnificent, we wish we had more time to stay and enjoy it!

We loved staying at Will's Guesthouse - stayed here for 3 days in Jan 2025. It is run by a lovely family who helped with anything we needed, including Tuktuk rides. The location was perfect for us - at bit away from the busy town but just a few mins away by Tuktuk. The views arw likely among the best near Ella, and the food at the restaurant run by the family was delicious, cooked by the mom.

This is a wonderful homestay, we had a lovely time here! The hosts (Danu and others) were so helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and have their own private balconies with views over the hills. You are 10 minutes out of the centre of Ella which is perfect because Ella itself is very touristy and busy. We were given lots of advice and help to plan activities in the area.

There were a couple of minor drawbacks—the fan wasn’t working at first, but the staff quickly replaced it, and the facilities were a bit old.

Staying at this homestay was a wonderful experience, especially for nature lovers. The location high in the mountains provided an absolutely stunning view, with the sunrise being a highlight of my trip. It was peaceful and quiet, yet still conveniently close to the center. The staff was very caring and attentive, always making sure guests were comfortable. They also offered a tuk-tuk service at a reasonable price, which made getting around easy. The local breakfast gave a nice taste of authentic cuisine.

It is a little bit out of town but we enjoyed the quietness and beautiful scenery.

Amazing staff who were so helpful and kind to arrange everything for us including Tuk tuks wherever we wanted to go and also arranged transport to the next location of our trip. Room had a balcony with incredible views over the hills.

The guesthouse has an amazing view and rooms are good size and nice and clean. The fan in our room broke though. :( it can get a little stuffy since you don't want to leave doors open due to insects. Shower is hot, although pressure is so so and the shower heads could be replaced. Breakfast is good, although some variety would be nice. Same thing each day - fried egg, fruit, toast. The fruit smoothie is nice. Some Sri Lankan options would be good. Slightly out of town but you can get tuktuk for 500-700 rupees. Overall a great stay and would recommend.
