Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United Arab EmiratesAmazing rooms located right in the middle of nature. Our pool villa was surrounded by forest, and we could see some amazing animals such as monkeys and exotic birds thought the floor to ceiling windows. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the views during breakfasts in the restaurant. Good location for Sigiriya and other nearby sites.

United KingdomVery potholed rutted road to the property. Could have been made worse by the recent rains.
A very beautiful and peaceful location. Sigiriya town about 10 minute drive. Every villa totally private surrounded by trees and vegetation. You can watch the monkeys passing by from your bed!

Saudi ArabiaA lot of mosquitoes. Less activities to do at the hotel. Far from everything.
I love how the hotel is isolated from everything. A great experience to stay at the woods. Very friendly staff.

IndiaThe Internet was slow. No bathtub in the bathroom, and water from the shower just lukewarm (though not a big issue, considering the climate). You need to keep the doors closed to keep uninvited guests such as monkeys, squirrels (daytime) and bugs (in the night).
It was a holiday in cozy comfort, but in communion with the wild! The main attraction for me was the extensive glass doors and walls that made me feel that the jungle is just a door away. We were able to see a mouse deer, a monitor lizard and a wild fowl on our way to the restaurant. We went to bed listening to the calls of cicadas and frogs, and woke up to the sounds of birds. The well-furnished deluxe villa has a generous living area, with its high roof and comfortable furniture. The air-conditioned bedroom is spacious and provided with a large bed. Besides an ensuite toilet-bathroom combine, the villa is provided with an outdoor open shower (full privacy). The resort has a clean, though a bit small, swimming pool. The restaurant offers comfortable seating and a good view all around. The menu on offer was discussed with us in advance by the very efficient and polite property manager Mr. Nimal Tennakoon. The restaurant also offered a choice of red and white wines, besides assorted beer and liquor.

United KingdomThe staff were generally not very helpful or engaged. Not very informative about the local sites or activities and not proactive in helping organise these for us - despite the accommodation being in the cultural triangle. It would also be good to have actual floor to ceiling black out blinds because the blinds in the room do nothing to block out the light, resulting in 5am wake ups. Not fun!
Loved the location in the jungle and the sense of being completely isolated.

United StatesThe location was fabulous and rooms are amazing. The staff was super attentive. But not worth for the price. At $500/room, you are better off at a different hotel. After coming from Galle Face (CMB), Uga Jungle (Trinco) and Leopard Trails (Wilpaththu), in comparison, the Wild Grass rooms are worth about $200-$250 range and the food is worth 1/4 of what Wild Grass is charging. The Lion lagers 2X what they are charging at other 5 star hotels. They try too hard and reek of desperation, and it is 5 star price for 2 star quality at best. They are always trying to bait and switch and roping guests into the dinner buffet, with the worst one being the New Years one at $90/person. Honestly, I had a better buffet at a street side hotel for <$10/person. I think they realized the ridiculousness of it all when they discounted it at checkout to $35/person. Having read their reviews, I'm sure they'll go on the defensive and respond, but I hope they know this is my opinion and they need to respect it. I hope they invest the energy into visiting some 5 start hotels and learning 5 start service or at least lowering the price.
The staff was super friendly. They were super attentive. The place was super clean and beautiful.

United KingdomNothing, all was good. Anyone wanting super reliable high speed WiFi shouldn’t expect it in the middle of a jungle.
In the middle of beautiful jungle forest, but still close enough to all the important sights this region has to offer. The staff are impeccable and super friendly, the food was great, and they helped to arrange all our trips whilst there. It’s a serene place that for anyone wanting to disconnect in a feast of greenery and warm hospitality, it’s perfect.

United KingdomThere was honestly nothing that we didn't like.
This was our 4th visit to Wild Grass and once more it didn't disappoint. Loved everything! Wild Grass is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. The villas are very modern but sympathetic to the surroundings and so spacious. AC was very efficient. And the bathroom!!! Loved it, especially the outdoor shower. Since our last visit some of the villas now have pools overlooking the lake. I'm so glad we decided to go with one of these rooms. The staff and Mr Nimal all went out of their way to be helpful.

We had a fantastic stay as a family. We booked the 3 floor villa with a plunge pool. The quality of the accommodation was exceptional with views over the lake. It was very peaceful and the staff went out of the way to be helpful. The food for breakfast was lovely and dinner had a good selection given it is a small restaurant. Would definitely come again.

IrelandCocktail menue is small, which is fine. However the two cocktails we ordered were not available due to lack of ingredients which for such a small menu one would expect all cocktails are available
Fantastic stay, we decided to add an additional night we enjoyed ourselves so much. The hotel manager/owner? Nimal was superb, he made us feel welcome and was available 24/7. We had some issues with a scooter we rented and he came with his team to where we were stranded to resolve. The whole team went above and beyond for us. Out of all rge locations we stayed in Sri Lanka, the food here topped the list. Absolutely delicious and fresh from their garden, be sure to ask for a tour! A great place to end the trip

UkraineI had a nice stay and have nothing negative to say.
Wild Grass is a must-visit! This is one of the few resorts I’ve been to where you get an up close and personal interaction with nature. My villa overlooked beautiful forest land all around me, and the pathways leading up to the villa and reception were so immersive. Most of all, they built a lot of anticipation about what the villa would like the first time I walked up because they are so well hidden from pathways and the other villas. The staff were so helpful in attending to all my needs, and service was constantly with a smile. The manager checked in with me before my stay to see if I had any special requests, which I’ve rarely experienced elsewhere. The food is incredible! I was worried about the spice levels in the food because I don’t handle it so well, but they made sure to tame it down for me, and it was great! It was wonderful to see how happy they were for me to try local cuisine, and with the taste, there’s no reason not to. The villa itself was bigger than any hotel I’ve ever been to. I enjoyed lovely Sri Lankan tea in my private living room and got to experience nature from my villa. We went on a guided rock tour, which was great to soak in the views of the property and the surroundings. We even saw Sigiriya Lion Rock from up there. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here. The villas are tastefully designed and spacious, the food is just mouthwatering, and the staff are amicable and attentive. You can’t ask for more.

BelgiumWe had a wonderful stay, especially on such short notice! Nimal and his team went the extra mile to ensure we were looked after. The villa was incredible, placing you right in the centre of nature and on each walk to the restaurant, we saw beautiful birds and even a peacock! My wife and I were both treated to the famous Sri Lankan hospitality, as mentioned by our friends who visited this beautiful country and hats off to the chef for producing mouthwatering food! The chef even taught us how to make pol roti, a delicious breakfast item in Sri Lanka. We wish we booked more days as the resort offers so much! We will certainly recommend this beautiful resort to our friends and even come back here. Thanks, Wild Grass team for the memorable stay!

PolandNothing at all!
We had a wonderful time while staying at this beautiful gem retreat hidden in the forest. First off, a sincere thank you to the staff and manager Nimal at Wild Grass for accommodating our late arrival in the evening and dinner arrangement. The hospitality of the staff is beyond our expectation. The Villa we stayed was contemporary, modern and spacious with surrounding glass interiors that let us feel so close to nature. Since the time we arrived there, the staff attended to all our requirements instantly. The service was just outstanding and the food was very tasty. We were so sad that we didn’t have time to extend our stay at this resort by a few more nights, but we will undoubtedly return for a longer stay the next time. Such a beautiful, serene, and peaceful setting for a vacation.
