We had a wonderful and very comfortable stay at this charming bungalow in Kandy. Nestled in a quiet and peaceful area, it was the perfect retreat for all of us to relax and unwind. The rooms were clean, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable, with clean bathrooms. We all felt right at home from the moment we arrived. What truly stood out was the warm Sri Lankan hospitality — the host was incredibly kind, helpful, and always welcomed us with a genuine smile, perfectly reflecting the gracious spirit of Sri Lanka

It’s a heaven. Nestled among the hills in a beautiful surroundings is the Wattarantenne Bungalow in Kandy. The accommodation is very cosy and comfortable maintaining its ancestral beauty and charm. Host Mangalika was exceptional and makes you so welcome in her beautiful home. Was served with a sumptuous Sri Lankan breakfast to start off the day.

    Nothing

Lovely host, warm feeling and welcome. Kids slept amazingly in the wooden room (for extra 2 hours!). Sri Lankan hoppers and wood apple jam was a hit with kids and parents!

Location difficult to find using gps (got lost twice, same issue was faced by Uber eats guys), dependency for everything on the owner - water, cup of tea, felt a lack of proactive approach. One had to ask for everything. Rooms are poorly lit, which makes it difficult to even read a book, no space to keep luggage anywhere, and everything has to be kept in the open. Mosquitoes galore owing to garden, do carry repellant. Nothing in the vicinity, no shops or restaurants. Town is 2.5-3 km away. The rooms in bunglow are spacious but the queen rooms on ground floor are small and extremely basic. Only table fans, it does get hot during the daytime.

Warm, kind, and friendly host, good hospitality. Ms. Mangalika, the owner, was kind and available to answer all queries. Large bunglow, space to walk around. If not for Ms. Mangalika, we would have probably checked out sooner

This traditional Kandian house is spotlessly clean. Our host was just beautiful. Rooms were large and with so much character. Beds were perfect. She was incredibly welcoming and we enjoyed our chats with her. Breakfast was the best meal we have had so far in Sri Lanka. She also does cooking classes which we would have loved to do but ran out of time. Would definitely stay again and this time do a cooking class with her.
