We had an amazing stay. Our villa directly overlooked Sigiriya rock. Upon arrival we received a wonderful head and neck massage. We also had a wonderful butler called Dilanka who provided amazing service. The hotel is located excellently for exploring the area.

We have travelled to many places and this stay was one of the best we have ever experienced. The staff were incredible, the rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was brilliant. The property has so much wildlife and we saw monkeys, peacocks and crocodiles without even leaving the grounds. Tharindu, the naturalist who leads the hotel excursions, has incredible knowledge and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience

Our private villa was absolutely amazing! They also upgraded us to one with a pool and put out some decorations on behalf of it being our honeymoon! We had a contact/butler we could request things via WhatsApp and he was very accommodating and friendly. On that note, all the staff were brilliant, housekeeping called in the evenings also to check if we needed anything - water, towels, etc. and provided turndown service. The grounds of the hotel are amazing, with trails all the way around the property that can be walked, jogged or cycled (there are complimentary bikes!). There was also fantastic wildlife to be seen on the grounds! Monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, lizards, peacocks, etc.! There is a nice bar with a pool table and the cocktails, etc. are nice. The food was amazing. We also used the spa for a couples Balinese massage - it was amazing and very professional from offering drinks at welcome and at the end, etc. Just an amazing stay, pricey but well worth it.

The staff at the front desk at times seemed a little confused but the 'butler' system made up for it where the 'butler' took care of everything.

It is a gorgeous place with excellent service. It is a good location to go on elephant safaries.

Nothing - perfect stay

We had an amazing stay at Water Garden Sigiriya. The whole place is so peaceful, and it felt like we were surrounded by nature – perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our room was incredible – super spacious and comfortable, and having our own private pool was definitely a highlight! The food was great; every meal was delicious, and you could tell a lot of care went into it. The service was also fantastic, especially from Sashi, Thamidu, and Dilshan, who made our stay even more enjoyable. They were friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. Overall, it was such a memorable experience, and we left feeling completely recharged. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and great hospitality!

This must surely be the best place to stay in Sigiriya. It has real class, it's immaculately maintained, and the food is excellent and varied. We stayed in a duplex villa with plunge pool which was if anything too big for our needs (family of four). It was huge, and located close to the main pool and restaurant. We arranged an afternoon safari via the hotel to see the elephants' August gathering and that was a real highlight of our stay in Sigiriya. Considering we stayed there in peak season (August), we were surprised how quiet it was. The main pool was very quiet - either no-one in there or just a handful of other people. And the restaurant also had an abundance of empty tables at lunch and dinner time. After we left the hotel, I received a Whatsapp from the hotel to say we'd left something in the room. We agreed to return several days later, and they'd kept it safe in reception. That was most appreciated.

Whilst we liked the ability to do yoga, we are used to the teacher doing the class with us, giving live feedback on what we could each improve on. Rather than a demo, then a verbal description, then us having to copy. Class could be easily adjusted as its clear the yoga teacher knows his stuff! Gym was quite small though well equipped for its size.

What a special place this is. We all loved it. The water gardens are even better in real life than in the photos and the view of Lions Rock is stunning! The villa was perfectly appointed. The food was good (though medium rare was very rare!) and restaurant staff attentive. The bar manager and cocktails on the Twin Bar Terrace were excellent. Noel was super helpful pre and during our arrival arranging transfers and a guided trip to Lions Rock (well worth doing).

Beautiful property, rooms were spacious and modern, the staff were amazing, very welcoming and always ready to help in anything you want! The food was delicious as well as the yoga classes! Beautiful hotel with exceptional staff. A special thank you to our naturalist Noel, with whom we did three wonderful tours (an incredible elephant safari, an educational and interesting trip to Lion’s Rock, and a cool hike to Pidurangala Rock). Noel constantly went above the call of duty and is a massive asset to the hotel. A special word of thanks also to our attentive and punctual porter, Sasika, who took great care of us. Thank you to the whole Water Garden Sigiriya team for making our first trip to Sri Lanka so memorable - we will return!

The property is very remote, on a very bumpy dirt road. The separate villas are dotted around the water gardens and connected via dirt paths, there is a buggy to take you to the reception, pool and dining areas although sometimes we walked as it isn't very far. The villas are spacious with balconies and are spotless. There is one restaurant on site where you can have all meals, the food was delicious and large servings. The only negatives are the hotel is not anywhere near a village so you can't go for a stroll to explore Sigiriya village and therefore must eat and drink at the hotel. Also, the pool area is lovely but there is no shade (the umbrellas don't cover the whole of the sunlounges) so it gets very hot. There is a pool bar but the service was poor, if you could find someone to take your drink order, it took ages to then get the drinks. Overall, we loved our stay here though, it was very relaxing, the staff were lovely and the food was great.
