How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThis accommodation was truly spectacular. My mom and I stayed for two nights, as we wanted to explore the south beach area of the island and visit different beaches. The place felt more like a personal home than a hotel, with a marvelous location right in front of the beach, a beautiful swimming pool, and a welcoming reception area. The staff were incredibly attentive, providing excellent service and even surprising us with complimentary treats like mocktails and delicious ice cream while we relaxed by the pool. It truly felt like a peaceful oasis. The breakfast was spectacular possibly the best we had during our entire 10-day trip in Sri Lanka with a wide variety of options to choose from. The room was always immaculate and spacious, featuring a very comfortable bed and all the amenities needed to meet every requirement. It genuinely felt like being in our own vacation home. We will definitely return if we visit Sri Lanka again and I highly recommend this accommodation .

Verified reviewThe best staff I’ve experienced in the five hotels / resorts I stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka. Special shout out to Rohan (Chef / Manager) who was an all rounder. He was not only kind but during our stay ensured we don’t feel short of anything and made us feel like a VIP guest.
Would have been nice to have some facilities but can’t complain since it’s a small beach villa with 6 rooms.

Verified reviewCouldn’t recommend this place any more, every staff member was well presented, polite and attentive. The whole villa was immaculate and the pool area was very well maintained and overall spotless. The food cooked my chef Roshan was the best food we had in the whole of Sri Lanka and he would go above and beyond to change items to be more suited to what you need.
The only small part that was not stated when booking was that alcohol can’t be served however there is a wine shop 2 minutes down the road walk and the staff members also were happy to go and collect the alcohol list if that’s what you would prefer, this was not a problem to us and did not affect our stay but is something to think about when booking.

Verified reviewOne of my best stays ever was in this beautifully setup and well maintained property. The room size was very big and spacious ( Room - Turtel ) The highlight of my stay was the food served by the chef who makes each and every dish with perfection and as per your requirements. To top on that, we had a beautiful sea view from our balcony and dining area. The place is such a vibe.
Hardly anything to say. I had a minor issue with my rooms a/c, and they changed my room immediately.

Verified reviewthe only thing which was great was staff, they tried to save every situation, they dont have any alcoholic drinks there so they offered us they will go and by it in shop close by, they let us have breakfast after official time as we spent longer time at the whale watching as planned, they tried their best - thats only reason i dont let the lowest rating
The place is nothing like five star hotel as mentioned in description, the place is just a small building with beach access and 5-6 rooms, next to it is plot full of garbage from one side and other side similar building, there are no 24 hours services as hotel should have - this is definitely misleading combination of photos and booking rating, they didnt have drink from menu - small menu with 5 mocktails and 5 soft drinks, but they could not make some of that, the room with terrace is not really terrace, its room with walls connected to the reception, so you hear all the noice, the terrace is terrace of the restaurant so no privacy, you cant even let your curtains open as everybody can see inside your room, the entry to the room is just next door to the toilet, the bathroom was big but with no logic, you dont have hanger for the towels, it is clean but thats all, one big "room" is at the same time reception, lobby, breakfast room, dinner room and all combined, just a bad dream, i didnt go to another hotel just because we had luckily booked only one night.

Verified reviewLoved everything about this place. The manager and floor staff made it excellent. Felt like a privately catered villa and instantly welcomed. Staff in Sri Lanka usually focused all questions and service on my husband first but the staff in this villa, catered to our comfort equally. Which was really appreciated by us both. It was my husband’s birthday whilst we stayed here and on request, they arranged a cake, sang happy birthday and decorated the bedroom… hilariously all to me! As it was my birthday the day before, his the day after. So our middle day has now become ‘our’ shared day, thanks to the staff here. Love this place.

Verified reviewIncredible coastal location just outside Mirissa - with it being super easy to get transport in. The team and especially Roshan the chef are great at making sure you are welcome and look after you. The breakfast options and dinner next to the crashing waves on the beach was definitely a highlight from my Sri Lanka trip.

Verified reviewStunning location from a peaceful and serene environment point of view and beautiful dramatic ocean setting but it’s not very close to much action or swimming beaches. You do need to take a 10-15 minute ride to get more into the action or swimming and surfing beaches. Our room was not cleaned while we were out all day which I found unusual for an establishment of this price and quality. The food and coffee were good but not great, at this price point, I would expect great. The staff were super friendly. All in all a lovely place and thank you to the staff.

Verified reviewLocation: The property is situated in a quiet part of Mirissa, offering stunning ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Cleanliness & Accommodation: The accommodation was spotless and well-maintained. Our spacious room had excellent air conditioning, a large balcony with breathtaking views, and high water pressure in the shower—every detail was well taken care of for maximum comfort. Staff & Service: The service was outstanding, and Leel, in particular, made our stay even more memorable. He took our food preferences into account, and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks to him, we had the incredible opportunity to witness turtles coming ashore to lay eggs and later saw baby turtles being released from a nearby hatchery. His kindness and attention to detail truly stood out. Food: Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, with generous portions. The chef engaging, frequently checking in to ensure we were happy with our meals. We even received complimentary desserts, making our dining experience even more special. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. A special thanks to Leel and the entire team for making our experience so special. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewThe staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. In particular Leel and Roshan. The breakfasts were lovely - lots of fruit and choice of cooked or continental. We had two evening meals during our stay - the seafood platter was excellent. A short walk along the beach was a restaurant called Zephyr - well worth a visit.
The sea is rough and there is an undertow so not suitable for swimming, but the hotel pool compensated perfectly. The hotel doesn’t have an alcohol licence (although a licence has been applied for). However, the hotel arranged for us to visit a local wine merchant and we brought back to the hotel all the wine and beer we needed for our 5 day stay.

Verified reviewPerfect End to Our Sri Lanka Trip – Highly Recommended! After traveling around Sri Lanka for three weeks, we ended our holiday at this villa hotel, and it was truly amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. They were hospitable, attentive, always smiling, and eager to help with any request. A special shout-out to Leel and Roshan for making our stay extra special! The hotel itself was fantastic—clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Lunch and dinner were also excellent, with a variety of well-priced and well-prepared dishes. The seafood platter was a highlight—huge, flavorful, and customizable to our preferences. I highly recommend trying it! The seating area and pool were perfect for relaxing, and the beautiful sandy beach was just a short walk away. One of the most memorable experiences was witnessing three turtles nesting at night and then seeing the government team collect the eggs in the morning. On our final day, we were lucky enough to watch baby turtles being released into the ocean—an unforgettable experience! If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, this is the perfect place. From start to finish, we felt completely at ease and in holiday mode. We couldn’t find a single fault—highly recommended!
