We had an amazing stay at Ubuay GuestHouse. Anthony was outstanding from start to finish, always going above and beyond to make sure our week in Trincomalee went perfectly. He was attentive to every detail and truly took care of us. He even cooked us fish and calamari with so much heart — and you could really taste it. The breakfasts were also excellent, especially the Sri Lankan breakfast, which we highly recommend. A huge thank you to Anthony for all his help — we look forward to seeing you again soon! We definitely recommend staying at Ubuay GuestHouse, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

We recommend to put in the double room a mosquito net because a lot of mosquitoes was inside.

The owners were nice, good location and simple but ok breakfast.

The bathroom was really dirty and disgusting, a no- go.

A good easy locations, clean and comfortable rooms. But the best thing about this place is the people. Everyone who worked here was so friendly kind and helpful. Antony the host was incredibly knowledgeable on areas to visit and always happy to help. We asked him one morning about hand weaving and he then organised for us to go with him to visit two different weaving mills and meet some amazing people, no extra cost or pressure to buy goods just really honest and happy to help. Thank you so much for having us. It was such a highlight of our trip! We will be back

It was so nice to stay there. The distance between the beach and my room was about 1 1/2 minutes walk! The best thing was I could go back even at midnight because it was 150 meters walk! The hotel area is so safe, the staff is very nice and helpful and you can talk with them if you want. It is the best area in Trincomalee to sleep in!

My room was not so nice. The floor, when I was putting things on it, was leaving stains on my clothes that I can’t get rid off now. But I have chosen the cheapest option that’s why! So anyway the room was OK! I was spending only nighttime in it because I was all day out so it was not the issue!

We stayed here for 3 nights. Great place to relax, close to the beach and main street, but still quiet. Anthony Paul, the host, is very kind and helpful. But he is an amazing chef, don't hesitate to ask him for lunch or dinner. He will deliver amazing tasty food. Highly recommended it.

Nice sized room, clean and very good location. Very nice breakfast was served and we were asked what we wanted which was nice. The people who work there are lovely.

Our bathroom did smell the whole time we were there, but we’ve had that a few times in Asia.

I had a wonderful stay at Paul’s place in Trincomalee. Communication was very effective and fast—Paul was always available to answer questions and provide helpful tips, which made everything smooth from check-in to check-out. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh, local ingredients and generous portions that really gave a taste of Sri Lankan hospitality. The location was ideal—just a short 2-minute walk from the beach, making it perfect for morning swims or sunset strolls. The surrounding area was peaceful yet close enough to restaurants and small shops for convenience. The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. It struck a lovely balance between simplicity and charm, making it a relaxing place to unwind after a day of exploring. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Trincomalee in a welcoming and well-hosted setting. Thanks again, Paul!

All was perfectly fine.

This place was absolutely perfect. The room was huge and had a massive kind size bed. Both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean on arrival. Fantastic location just a few minutes walk to the beach and many restaurants. Breakfast was an omelette, 3 pieces of toast, papaya, watermelon, butter, jam with coffee or tea. The main highlight of this stay was the very friendly and kind host Antony. He was more than happy to help us in any way he could and recommended some great places to see in Trincomalee. Thank you! :)

Antony is the man for everything. He gave us a warm welcome and gave us a lot of recommendations and helped us out with every need we had. We also had some nice chats with him. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds are really comfy. We enjoyed our stay here!

The man who handling amazing very helpful name call Paul, all the information he will give around the Trincomalee. just like 100 miter for the beach and very clean rooms, very nice breakfast and the fresh fish to grilled, and fried calamari excellent food and the service I will be back very soon.

I enjoyed a comfortable room just two minutes from the beach. The Sri Lankan food was excellent, offering dishes like rice and curry and fresh seafood. They had various breakfast options, including hoppers, milk rice, and more. I particularly loved the tuna with fried rice; it was truly delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ensuring I had everything I needed.

The accommodation was very clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Just a 3-minute walk from the beach, it is a peaceful and quiet spot, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the seaside. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and gave us great advice to help us plan the rest of our trip. They even reached out to their contacts to help us find the best deals. We loved the included breakfast and tried both the Western and Sri Lankan options. While both were delicious, the Sri Lankan breakfast was our favorite! Our hosts were attentive, always available, and truly made us feel welcome. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend this place without hesitating

Paul is an excellent host and organised a fantastic tuk tuk tour for us. The Sri Lankan breakfast was the best we've had. A very short and easy walk to beach front restaurants and bar. Exceptional value and highly recommended to all travellers.

Such a calm and stress free vibe! Paul is a lovely guy who is more than willing to answer questions and help with any arrangements. The breakfast is simply just the best in all of Sri Lanka! 3 minute walk to the beach, lots of restaurants in walking distance. Perfect place to reset and relax!

Property is clean. A few minutes walk to the beach and about 10-15 minutes walk to local restaurant KK Kitchen (the tourist restaurants are ludicrously priced for what they offer). Owner Paul organised a reasonably priced taxi for my return to the airport, saved me 4k LKR over the online booking.

Fan only room did not have a mosquito net. No mosquito screen on windows, and no cross-ventilation so the room door and windows had to be left open to cool down during the afternoon. Managed with mosquito repellent cream. My room was next door to Leopard hostel which was really noisy at night :-(.

It was near the beach and the city, the surroundings were very tropical like and room was clean and equipped with the AC. We had some problems with WIFI and it was solved very quickly.

Not everyone spoke English, which was a bit difficult, but overall a good stay. The breakfast were light.
