In the middle of the jungle, the staff is really nice and helpful, they managed many services for us (tuktuks, bike rental, safari, laundry and even umbrellas during the heavy night rains) We had all our meals there (breakfast was enough for lunch)

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and owner. We loved going up for drinks on the rooftop lookout. It was so relaxing up there and the views are stunning. Big, clean rooms. Very generous and delicious breakfast. Really nice pool. I enjoyed watching the with monkeys in the trees around the pool area. We enjoyed being out of town for the peace and quiet. Highly recommend - a great stay.

Beautiful little place in the middle of the jungle. The view from the treehouses is just spectacular. The staff is super friendly and very helpful and the food is just amazing. Try the Sri Lankan breakfast if you are able to eat hot and spicy food.

It was a bit remote and could be hard to get to if late. Not the fault of the hotel but it was prone to insects as you’re in the jungle

The staff was amazing. Always available to make our stay better. They arrange tuk tuk, safari and transport to our next destination. We met the owner, lovely and so attentive. The cabin was very cute and clean. We had a terrace with couple of chairs to chill. Also have hammocks. On top of the cabin there is the tree house where the staff organised breakfast for us. The tree house has increíble views. Peaceful place. Full of trees, cero noise except for the birds. We spent hours and hours just chilling and relaxing. Everything was so easy. This was really the highlight of our trip, nothing have been as good as this place. The staff are there to really make your life easier so you just spend the time enjoying. A heavenly tropical escape. Thank you so much. We will miss this place.

Nothing not to like

The location, like other hotels close by is perfect for exploring all this area has to offer including the “two rocks” Sigiriya and Pidurangala and the Minneriya National park for the “gathering” in the summer months. Angelie was outstanding the best quest service we have experienced in Sri Lanka. She and her team looked after us so well and were very helpful and friendly. In particular, the swimming pool is a real treat which we enjoyed every day. The observation platforms above our rooms, hovering just above the canopy were perfect for a beer as the sun went down over Sigiriya rock. Although a quite new hotel with ongoing development. it was first class and good value

We had a wonderful time at this lovely place just outside of Sigiriya. Everything was very good — clean, comfortable, and peaceful. What really stood out was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Also the tree houses with a gorgeous view over the trees and of the lion and Pidurangala rock. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The most loveliest of stays. So well looked after by the whole Team and we met the Owner too. Anji looked after us so well- she is an absolute treasure- a very special lady who I have no doubt will have an amazing career in Tourism/Hospitality. The Chef made THE best Sri Lankan cuisine breakfast and dinner were awesome!! He even packed a box of sweet treats for our journey that had been prepared to celebrate New Year. What a legend!!! I loved his cooking and I am a fussy Veggie! Breakfast on the Tree House was very special also! The pool was clean and the perfect temperature. We had a very special afternoon on a tractor with Anji as out host checking out the Local Landscape, a boat ride on the lake and lots of natural Wildlife. It was so special- thank you Anji! ❤️ We will return again and I would recommend Tree Trails to everyone!

We were so well looked after here. The staff were so lovely and friendly. It was fantastic to be able to climb up above the tree level and take in the views. It’s quiet and tranquil being a bit out of town but easy to get a tuktuk in and out. We went on a great safari organised through reception with a pick up and drop off at the resort.

We had a wonderful stay at this unique accommodation right in the middle of the jungle! With rooftop viewpoints, a tranquil pool, and outstanding service, this place truly offers a special experience. Even though it's located a bit off the beaten path, the atmosphere more than makes up for it—you might not want to leave at all. The included breakfast was so generous it practically lasted us all day. In the evening, there was a great selection of local and Western dishes made with high-quality ingredients (though portions were on the smaller side). The peaceful pool area was perfect for unwinding, and the staff really took Sri Lankan hospitality to the next level. Occasional evening power fluctuations were handled smoothly with a temporary diesel generator, but it switched off well before bedtime, leaving only the soothing jungle sounds. For mobile work, this place may not be ideal—the Wi-Fi relies on a mobile connection, which wasn't strong enough for demanding online tasks. But for a relaxing holiday segment in Sri Lanka, this place gets our full recommendation! We arrived by public bus from Kandy, changing at Dambulla, and then took a Tuk Tuk from the Sigiriya bus stop to the accommodation for 1000 rupees. During our stay, we rented a scooter in Sigiriya, while other guests used rental Tuk Tuks to get around.

We have very fond memories of our stay at this hotel. It was the beginning of our journey around Sri Lanka. It is a cozy resort in the middle of the jungle, prepared for the most demanding clients. A real paradise for nature and animal lovers. Rooms - very spacious, clean, well-equipped. The chef's breakfasts — both Sri Lankan and continental versions—were delicious. They were so varied and tasty. We could even pick vegetables in a neighboring village to be prepared for us the next day. Amazing! We greatly appreciated the flexibility, and support in every matter. The team that managed the reception and guest service - was incredibly committed. Basically, every problem could be solved. We could count on help in every matter. Everyone was always smiling, nice, open-minded. Always so client-oriented!

We had a wonderful stay at Tree Trails. The cheerful young staff all made us feel very welcome and comfortable. There is a great sense of privacy in each unit and a large terrace with seating to enjoy the peace. Comfortable beds and a good shower. A special shout out to Nissanka the chef who was kind enough to invite us into the kitchen to share his secrets. The food was excellent, plentiful, cooked from scratch and made with a passion. I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, which is perfectly located just outside the village, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It’s an ideal base for exploring Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala, and you can easily rent a bike to get around. The hotel is set in the jungle, with charming independent houses that are very comfortable. Everything was spotless—pristine clean bedspreads, soft white towels, hot water, air conditioning, and satellite TV made my stay even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to ensure a great experience. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, with a choice of continental, Sri Lankan, or English breakfast, as well as excellent lunch and dinner options. What makes this place even more special is that they only opened in December last year, and the owner is committed to giving young people opportunities for good jobs and a better future. I truly admire this initiative and wish them all the success. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable stay in nature!

Our hosts Anji and Nadeeshan went out of their way to make our stay a memorable experience. We felt right at home due to their exceptional hospitality. We had a great time exploring the remote area around the hotel by bike. The hosts even guided us around personally. We also loved the night safari and were amazed by seeing many elephants close by.

Not a criticism but a bit off the beaten track and tuk tuk drivers had some difficulty finding it when returning from an outing. Handy to have google maps with you to help them get you back!

Boutique style hotel so few rooms but very well appointed and made for a quiet retreat. Lovely and clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Stands in large grounds so very peaceful. Pool a welcome sight in the heat of the day.
