Wonderful little house. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs and large bedroom upstairs. Well set up kitchen. Comfy living room. Excellent location, walking distance to town / post office. Hosts were great, very responsive.

One morning, the electricity went out. There was nothing to blame on the host; there was simply a breakdown in the area; however, it would have been preferable if there had been a small generator just in case, as not having electricity while on vacation can be a major setback for a tourist.

It was a well-kept property. The host was extremely attentive, answering all of our questions and making every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Lovely property, you hire the whole house. There is kitchen equipment provided if you want to cook. They have little touches too like games and extra blankets for the colder nights. We didn’t have a problem with the internet usage (it was strong signal). We did go over the allotted usage amount but it’s not expensive for more. The hosts are really helpful and friendly.

The only slightly negative thing we could possibly find was the fact that when you walk on the second floor it is quite loud on the first floor. Just as a heads up rhere is no heating but for the night there is more than enough blankets to keep you warm so we weren't inconvinienced by it even in the slightest.

We were really surprised how well the host spoke English, so we could communicate flawlessly. He gave us some great recommendations of the locak tourist attractions and restaurants, but also provided us with two bicycles and a bike route so we could go explore. They also brought us tea the first evening and then even some really good sandwiches for breakfast next morning. The house itself was clean and the beds were really comfortable. There is even a carrom table, some cards (UNO) and a darts board outside, so there is plenty of entertainment. The kitchen is decently stocked with the basic necesities such as pots and pans, cutlery, plates and some other basic kitchen utensils and also a fridge and a microwave. The house is really spacious and could easilly accomodate larger groups.

The big room on the upper floor doesn't have an attached washroom, and one must go to the common washroom downstairs, which is slightly inconvenient at night times.

Getting to the property was easy. The property is well located and walking distance from the market and restaurants, yet in a quite and peaceful neighbourhood. We had the entire place to ourselves. The owner Dilshan was in touch with us all throughout, also helped us with a cab operator's number for local sightseeing. His mother sent us breakfast snacks each morning along with coffee, which was unexpected and very kind of them. It's a lovely place for a big group of friends to stay and chill- we really wished we had more time here.

The place is very close to the center, very clean, we came as a family and the kids have a lot of space to play and enjoy, the place is very big, and we had a place to cook for the kids. The family is really nice and warm. It is very recommended, great value for its price.

Our stay at was truly exceptional for our family. From the moment we arrived, we knew we’d made the right choice. The house we stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully designed, making it easy for everyone to relax. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the essentials The hotel’s location was also ideal for families. It was within walking distance of parks, museums, and family-friendly attractions. Overall, townside Lodge is a fantastic choice for a family stay.. we left with wonderful memories. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to other families!

The place is really awesome and one of a kind. The weather is chilly as hell but you can have the barbeque lit and warm yourself. The owners are really cool and friendly. We had a great time with them. I honestly recommend this place if you want to have the best of experience in Nuwara Eliya.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Townside Lodge in Nuwara Eliya, and it was a fantastic experience! The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms and kitchen were spotless, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay. The location is perfect, being very near to the city, which made it convenient for us to explore all the local attractions. Plus, the weather was super cool, adding to the overall charm of our visit. Noise was a problem when there were people upstairs. Otherwise no issues.

We appreciated our little house. Our host and his mother were very responsive and nice. The place was neat and tidy when we arrived. I appreciated the great gardened yard - so many flowers.

Wi fi wasn't working throughout the day, only at off peak times. As this was not a priority for us, it was OK.

The hosts were exceptionally warm and friendly and accommodative. Responded to appeals promptly. Property was very clean, and the atmosphere pleasant for a holiday. The bedding and sofas were comfortable, and all necessities attended to. Privacy was ensured. Parking facility for a van was appreciated.

We loved this stay. Accommodation is exactly what it looks like in the photos. It's fair to say that it's basic but this is exactly what we booked :) . Right in town down a lovely street that really made you feel you were staying local. The upstairs sleeping area was being worked on when we arrived and wasn't available to us. This cause zero issues for us. Loved the cooler temperatures in the town, no aircon is needed and the extra blankets are appreciated. The host was fantastic, brought us tea as well as some Sri Lankan snacks for us to try. Also the garden is quite lovely.

Water water

The lodge is really beautiful especially the garden. A lot of flowers. The lodge really close to the bus station and it’s easy to buy go to anywhere. And the lodge is really big, we have 7 person and can accept more 10 people. The host Dilhan and his mother are very friendly. But the hot water is a little bit problem, because the temperature is very low at night.

Staying here is like staying in a cottage, meaning there will be some bugs and it is not as "polished" as a hotel. We didn't mind that, but some might. The openness of the roof led to some critters getting in, but Dilhan is taking care of that.

We enjoyed the opportunity to stay in a property that was so different than the other stays during our Sri Lanka trip. We enjoyed being surrounded by the beautiful plants in the garden, and sitting outside during mornings and evenings. We had everything we needed to cook in the kitchen (fridge, microwave, stove top, dishes), and lots of space for our family of five to relax. This spacious house had a large upstairs room with three double beds and a single. The stairs to the upstairs was outside, but we didn't get wet on rainy nights going up and down stairs. The downstairs had two bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a living room and a kitchen, so we could spread out and all be comfortable. We had plenty of pillows and blankets for a great night sleep. The hospitality shown by Dilhan and his mother was fantastic. Communication was excellent, and they spoiled us by giving us drinks, treats, and breakfast throughout the stay. Dilhan walked us to town on the first day so that we could see the shortcut that Google Maps didn't know about. We heard church bells and birds in the morning and enjoyed being in a quiet area of Nuwara Eliya.
