How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt is a small, peaceful resort, right on a stunning beach, set in lovely grounds. The beach was very clean and so quiet, that at times it felt like our private beach. It is completely undeveloped, with a few wooden sunbeds under frangipani trees and a volleyball net. We didn't need anything else, so it was perfect for us. We felt safe swimming there at all times. The hotel provides beach towels. Breakfast and dinner were served in a very pleasant restaurant, with sandy floor and wooden tables and chairs. The breakfasts were varied and very tasty and Mr. Silva was able to cook delicious, gluten free rotis and hoppers for us, and we can honestly say that they were superb. He really went out of his way to make sure we had everything we wanted. We had two dinners at the resort and the fish was exceptional and reasonably priced. We also had a Sri Lankan vegetarian curry, which was also delicious. He helped us with motorbike hire and onward transport. The rest of the staff were also just great, so helpful and friendly. They work incredibly hard to keep the rooms, the grounds and the beach very clean. We had a deluxe bungalow which was very comfortable. The storage was OK, but the room could do with some hanging space for our clothes and some hooks. We had such a fabulous stay at this exceptional resort.
I really didn't like the constant mechanical noise of the water pump when I was relaxing on the verandah. Although it wasn't too loud, it was a bit irritating. Luckily, we didn't notice it inside our room. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a bungalow away from the pump.

Verified reviewAmazing location on most beautiful quiet beach I have seen in Sri Lanka. Rooms are new and very clean. Manager can organize all escursions in the area at half price versus what you will find in cahotic Trinco. I could see and hear the sea from my bed. We had great fish dinner. Excellent price/quality ratio. Nixe team as always in Sri Lanka

Verified reviewBeautiful location, wonderful rooms, excellent service. Silva, the manager and chef, produced delicious 5-star meals and was very helpful with transport and other recommendations. Would highly recommend this as a place to get away from it all.
Nothing - it was lovely.

Verified reviewUnbelievable beach ! We were alone most of the time as there are not too much accomodation in the hotel, simply great. Very nice people, always helpful. A good cook as well, excellent breakfast and we ate once in the evening fresh barracuda from the market, delicious. Room are good and clean with view on the ocean.

Verified reviewIt was a lovely quiet location with beach access, excellent food & very friendly, helpful staff.
Just one small thing but a tap to wash sandy feet before entering the unit would have been a bonus.

Verified reviewGood sized cabins with great aircon situated on a beautiful beach. It is in a quiet location but we easily hired boats each day to snorkel at Angel Rock and went whale / dolphin spotting. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly and the food onsite was lovely. We ate at the hotel in the evenings (as there seemed to be only one other restaurant nearby at the resort next door) - lots of fresh seafood including barracuda and squid which was delicious. Also lots of small wildlife on site which kept the kids entertained (lizards and frogs passing through at dinner time). We had a great 3 days here as a family.

Verified reviewEverything. Staff fantastic and couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. Fresh made home cooked food, set menu each day but they did cater for dietary preferences if asked in advance
Nothing we didn't like, we gave a 10 for location as we like remote. But if you aren't prepared to get a tuk tuk to town it is out of the way

Verified reviewVery nice staff. The manger is a highly approchable person and a very talented cook and the prices for breakfast and dinner are really affordable. The rooms are clean and everything is sanitized properly.
They use polyester-bedsheets. This is in a hot country kind of uncomfortable if you are someone who sweats easily. Also there are a bunch of annoying street/beach dogs around. Most of them keep distance and dont get on your nerves but some came way to close. One even tried to lick my leg multiple times until I hit him with my shirt.

Verified review- Proximity to a private super clean beach, beach towels provided by the hotel ⛱️ - Mr.Silva was full of little attention for his guests, you can feel that he really cares a lot. He made a dahl curry and roti for our breakfast just because he heard we liked it. He also helped organise a private snorkeling + Dolphin watching tour at a fair price 😊 - We also loved the special banana shake for our last breakfast. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay, I can only recommend 🤗
A daily cleaning of room could have been great but it didn't disturb us that much overall, great experience.

Verified reviewHas good potential , Staff were trying hard to do good And very friendly
Again has good potential but maybe due to low season, no staff around ( even upon arrival no one to be seen anywhere, tried calling etc but number didn’t work) No water/ food/restaurant Had to open close main gates every day driving in and and out, aggressive stray dogs on property

Verified reviewThe hotel is right next to the beach and set in nice gardens. It’s a little way out of the town, but easy to get a tuktuk. The hotel arranged a dolphin and snorkelling trip ( much cheaper than going to Pigeon Island and saw lots of fish). Different fish meal every night. Helpful manager and staff

Verified reviewTravelling as a family with 3 kids (5 years, 3 years and 8 months) the hotel was perfect to relax. Right in front of the hotel is the beach, clean at the part of the hotel, but with rubbish beside that. The ocean was great to swim for the kids. Unfortunately there is no shadow where the kids can just play a little in the sand. Theres nothing much around the hotel, so you need tuktuk/taxi, if you want to go somewhere. The room was clean, had everything you needed, but you also can hear your neighbours. Breakfast was made every day individually: fruits, eggs, banana bread, Sri Lankan pancakes - every time delicious. For dinner very delicious fish was served with soup and also dessert. Mister Silva is a great cooker. The staff did his best, but seemed a little overstrained. Sometimes we had to wait long for the food. All over a little paradise off tourism, but not ideal for families with kids.

Verified reviewThe cabin was very comfortable, cozy and clean. It was at walking distance from the beach. The beach was a bit deserted, no bars or chairs to sit. But that made the hotel also very calming. Mr. Silva immediately rented a scooter for us. He cooked an amazing meal for us and made delicious breakfast, which made our stay.
We had the feeling that there was a lack of staff and that the chef (mr Silva) had too many jobs at the same time. He was still very nice and helpful.
