I think that rooms are not really comfortable. My room had an outside restroom, in the night was a heavy rain and I had to go outside and get wet just because I need a toilet. And the doors were lower than me so I needed to bend down. In the room, there is no mirror, no nightstands, no hairdryer. So I think it’s more 1-2 interesting experience, then a place for a long stay.

It’s a nice small villa just for four rooms, so it’s always quiet. The lovely garden with the big swimming pool. I always had a feeling that I’m leaving in the zoo - monkeys, birds, raccoons, lizards were everywhere.

The only downside with a garden is the mosquitoes as it is quite natural, but the staff will make sure you have all the equipment to protect yourself from them.

It’s a very relaxed environment inside Spice Trail, quiet and surrounded by a beautiful garden. However it’s only 5 mins away from all the amazing cafes and restaurants in Ahangama town. The pool is clean, and large. It’s surrounded by trees and if you’re lucky you might see monkeys swinging on them. In addition the staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. They went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay.

Wifi wasn't always working and not very warm water.

Very beautiful place to stay, clean room and bathroom. The pool was also very clean. The atmosphere is beautiful. Renting a scooter is a good idea, we met some angry dogs on the road nearby. Something bad happened to us at the hotel but the manager was helpful and tried his best to solve it.

It’s a 15min walk to Ahangama centre. We ate breakfast here once and this was pricey for what it was would recommend cafe’s which are within walking distance.

We came during low season so this was very quiet and peaceful. Large spacious room and great pool area.

We were in Ahangama in a period (July) where the beaches were not accessible due to the high level of the sea. Nothing to do with the stay itself, but important to know. Luckily, you can enjoy all the swimming in the pool, and there are a lot of nice bars, restaurants and shops closeby.

The biggest and most relaxing pool you can imagine, with nice and clean rooms. The atmosphere was relaxing and the personnel very kind and helpful. Excellent breakfast as well! We were totally alone, which made it even better to just hang and chill by the pool.

There were no blinds for the upper window so when sunrises at about 6am light fills the room.

We really loved our stay at the Spice Trail. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious. The room is very nice with a great outdoor shower leading to the backdoor for pool access. Lounging around the pool was great, it's quite a small villa so we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. It's also tucked away off the main road so it is not loud but still within 10min walk of the main area. If I ever come back to Ahangama I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

First of all - *the stuff is fu**ing an amazing people!!!!* they all have such a good eyes, good heart and pure intentions. Everything we asked for, they provided with a smile. Second of all- the place is so beautiful and quiet, the pool is huge and super clean and the plants all over the place is amazing. The rooms are big and full of style. Ill be back for sure (and not once).

Absolutely stunning accommodation. Beautiful grounds, beautiful jungle views from the bedroom. The pool was gorgeous and we loved being surrounded by the wildlife - birds and monkeys in the trees. The rooms were really comfortable and we were made to feel so welcome. It’s also just a short walk to the main road and nearest surf spot and cafes.

It was perfect!

I was the most perfect stay during our travel though Sri Lanka. The pool is great but most important the team is the BEST! Never experienced that good hospitality and the Sri Lankan breakfast is a dream come true! We will definitely come back and stay longer than 4 nights. :)

Wi-Fi wasn’t great so it was hard to get work done (we were working remotely from the location) and we didn’t didn’t know there was a cut off time for breakfast so would’ve appreciate if that was told prior.

Loved the pool, private garden area as well as how spacious the bathroom and how clean the room was.

The portion size should be a bit bigger since we weren't full after the breakfast.

The breakfast was good, we had options between a Western Spread, or traditional Sri Lankan Brekky. It was made fresh, and prepped by the chef then and there. The taste was quite good too.
