How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It can get a bit cold in the room, but the electric heater helps a lot.
Lovely room with comfortable bed. They cut fruit for us that were bought from the market. Service was excellent.

Everything from the service to meals were exceptional! Peaceful location and the host Sathish and Ranjith (assistant) were super helpful in making our accommodation comfortable. Would not have any doubts to come back for sure! Could not recommend The Ramp enough! :)

Some details can be improved, like no proper window in the bathroom hence cold was coming in (only there), tv available but not connected (he mentioned was not set yet) and we weren’t able to find hairdryer. Although nothing major that didn’t really impacted our stay.
The structure is unique. The room is spacious and really well decorated. Bed was really comfortable. On top the host was really kind and made sure every detail was in place during our stay

The quirky style of the upper rooms was most unusual and attractive. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained. At breakfast we were offered a wide range of choices and for dinner we ordered delicious meals from Ceylon Kitchen to be delivered. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Ranjith who looked after us extremely well.

The TV wasn't working. The information on booking.com says that the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. But it only serves breakfast. However, there are good restaurants close by.
The room is large and very comfortable. It's the best shower we've had in a while - very hot and good water pressure.

I had requested for Indian breakfast, which they apparently get from outside. Not great though they gave me good quantity and variety. I would have instead settled for fresh fruits and bread butter jam toast. But no big complaints
Very good property with good staff. What you see in the photo is what you will see in reality. Very clean rooms. Value for money. Excellent staff. The front office person Sathish Devarakonda will follow up on the day of arrival on WhatsApp and make you feel at home. Another staff Ranjith ( aka Bruce Lee) is also a great guy. All of them speak Tamil as well. Overall an excellent calm stay. I would highly recommend this place.

Loved it.
Malik. (THE MAP) The man of the place. Wow. He took care of us soooo much. Guided us to enjoy the best of NEliya. Also, the driver, he organised was super good at photography and a great guide. Wish all of these wonderful guys success. Much Love.

It is so very special, the way the hotel is built - beautifully set in a nice scenery. Nuwara Eliya is definitely worth a visit, and if you come, stay at The Ramp for your extra experience. The breakfast was delicious and the staff super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

What a cool looking hotel. It’s close to the centre, it’s clean, the shower and bathroom are top quality. The bed is also super comfortable. But most importantly the staff. This is what makes these places. The manager on shift was so so helpful. I was only in Nuwara Eliya for a very short time (24 hours), and he made absolutely sure I had the best experience. Despite leaving at 6am he made sure I had a breakfast bag to take with me. It’s also very close to the centre.

The design of the hotel is very nice. It's pretty central so close to everything. Room was spacious with 2 small balconies. Breakfast was great?

We stayed at The Ramp as a couple and loved every moment. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, and the room was clean, cozy, and perfect for two. It’s in a peaceful spot, yet just a short walk from town. Breakfast was fresh and simple, and the overall vibe was calm and relaxing. Highly recommended for couples visiting Nuwara Eliya!

Cold air coming through window in bathroom that had only a shutter. No heating. Very noisy when it rained.
